His breath control is incredible! He did this after 50+ minutes of concert, a looping segment, then a fall! He will then perform the second half of the concert! He is an alien.

I've seen the show live last year, his part is ROCKING, not to mention that the others are taking a break while he does this part of the show, AFTER beatboxing for an hour already. He does an awesome show.

His breath control is so good because his music degree is in trumpet performance.

I enjoyed your analysis; you're one of the few reactors out there who actually understand beatboxing on such a high technical level. To give you an idea of Adam's many talents, he plays trumpet (college degree in trumpet performance), piano (his mother teaches it), bass guitar, drums (he learned them to improve his beatboxing), and sings background vocals/ harmony (tenor). He also arranges music for Home Free, but not to the extent of others (he tends to arrange his music a bit of the difficult side). For Christmas, check out his arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear; nothing else like it. (My favorite Christmas carol by HF.) He is also a huge D&D player. (He has an extensive collection of D&D miniatures, as seen in his home.) He's also an alien 👽.

Looking straight into the Florida afternoon sun...you would be wearing sunglasses.

This show was outside in Florida. The stage was the only shade. When they were looking at the crowd it was super bright. If i remember correctly, they all had sunglasses on.

Plus, he has blue eyes. I can say as a blue-eyed person, bright lights/bright sunlight definitely requires sunglasses! My youngest granddaughter has light gray eyes and when she walks outside she can’t even look up unless she remembers her sunglasses. She doesn’t when she has school.

Adam Rupp is incomparable. It's a skill to be able to make sounds - it's expertise to suit beatboxing exactly to suit a specific song & maintain that throughout. Never too much, never too little and so subtle that it makes you forget that there are actual instruments. BTW, they can all beatbox (not to Adam's extent of course). Watch "9-5 + beatboxing breakdown", "Mayday Live" or "Joy to the World Hosannah" for examples). Adam's been doing it since he & his brother formed Home Free in 2001.

I always appreciate hearing from fresh eyes and ears. I like that you bring your experience to these blind reactions.
Adam's obviously performing to a very different audience and in different space in the music business than most beatboxers. A portion of their audience is older and fairly conservative. I like that he's making beatboxing a familiar part of their listening. HFare often performing on an outdoor stage in the afternoon to a mixed crowd at a fair or festival
Homefree is in the Country Music space, and Adam is permanently associated with this group. They've put out 11 conventional albums since 2014. (12 if you count the Deluxe edition of the "Full of Cheer" Christmas album).
The guys also hang with Aaron 'Heatbox' Heaton on some of their gigs, like at Tim's annual weekend camping bash.

I see that others mentioned the fall that he took. You couldn't know about that (except that he DID say, "...that hurt!" as he settled in on the stage). As for the sunglasses, I see that there are only a couple of comments so far, and both of them mention that the sun was very bright that day. Regardless of that, when Adam is going to be looking out into the sun, most of the time, you WILL see him wearing sunglasses, because he MUST. He also wears them if he's in a bright snow setting, for example. So, basically, in this type of situation, there's not much he can do about the fact that he probably wishes he DIDN'T have to wear sunglasses from time to time. The extra brightness that day, may also have caused the trip-and-fall that happened, that injured his foot and leg.
I'm not saying any of those things because I'm criticizing your take on this video. I've been enjoying it VERY much. This is partly because I can do a lot of what you both do, as well, though I've never done it professionally. I just love rhythm, and I love sound effects, and when I listen to music, I'm constantly doing SOMETHING to keep the rhythm. That can include drumming with my hands (or the pen/pencil I'm holding, etc.) on my wooden desktop. Sometimes, if I want to accent, I'll use parts of my hands (including nails) on the plastic arms of my desk chair. My FEET area also ALWAYS going.
Even when I'm playing a video game (yes...I'm a gamer, at age 74...have been a gamer all my life, beginning with toddler games and kindergarten games, etc., etc., etc....card games...logic puzzles...matching games...building games...it doesn't matter...I have to keep my brain going on SOMETHING, all the time). I also do things like knitting or crocheting when watching a movie, and I play cards here at my desk (there's a solitaire game laid out in front of me right now) when I'm watching anything on my computer, or out in the living room on the large family TV. I simply CANNOT just sit and watch something. Even when I'm reading a book, I will generally have music playing, and sometimes I just have to take a break, get up, and do SOMETHING with my hands. That's just me. Oh, and I also draw, paint, and write. If you take a look at my channel, you'll find extra links (can't put any of them here) to find "Linda's Place" online. In the Arts/Drawing section, you'll find some of my INKTOBER entries for three different years. Most of my drawings are done while I'm watching things like reaction videos. 😀
This is also one reason I type long comments. I type about 250 wpm...have since I was 12. Even on the old manual Royal typewriter that my dad rescued from the dump, and then repaired, for my mom (which was my learning instrument for typing) I could type over 100 wpm.
So...right now, I've been listening to your reaction and loving it, and DOING what you said to do, because I already CAN. I don't necessarily have NAMES for the routines and processes, but I DO know how to do them. Our whole family loves doing group beatboxing from time to time (there are 12 of us in this house...two grandparents, two parents, and eight children ranging from age four up through age almost-20). We all sing, play various instruments, drum on everything, and make vocal noises a LOT. We have a lot of fun trying to outdo each other. You ought to hear the four-year-old!!! You probably would NOT want to hear us all sing "Happy Birthday" (so many times a year), because we join my husband in singing it in the most UN-tuneful way that we possibly can. David can sing really well, but he always just loves to MURDER the birthday song...so we all do it, and have a hilarious time while we're at it. A couple of months back, when one of the boys turned nine, he decided to sing the song traditionally, and it stopped everyone in their tracks, with their mouths open, while staring at him soloing very beautifully. Then everyone joined in and harmonized, and...WOW! I doubt that will ever happen again! 🤣😂😁
I also have my solitaire card game (I'm on the third hand of it since I started watching your video, and I'm paused at 8:44 right now) in front of me, so I've been beatboxing while playing that.
I think you are doing a GREAT job of reacting to this particular Adam Rupp video. Also, if you don't see a comment from me on any of your OTHER videos, it won't be because I don't like your reactions. It will simply be because I don't choose to listen to a song that I already have heard, that I don't like (usually the style and lyrics...not the techniques). There are just some songs I won't listen to. That's just me.
Now I'll leave you alone, and get back into the reaction. Thanking you for it NOW. I've truly been enjoying your work since I saw the first Adam Rupp reaction. GRANDMA HUGS!

I love your analysis of him because you are the only reactor out there really going through the technique stuff. Super interesting. Thanks for reacting to Adam again. He's so talented, versatile and super fun to watch. He has added a live looping portion of his solo in recent years, which is also fun, but I think this is still my favorite one of his solos that's out on RUclips so far. Thanks again. Oh, BTW, he fell down the stairs on his way up to the platform right before this, so that's why he was hopping around. He hurt himself pretty bad. The show must go on, though. What a guy!

Have you seen the later Drum Solos, from 2023? I just now searched and found 3 that weren't in my "Drum Solo" playlist. The titles to search for are Home Free live in Berlin - Adam Rupp's Drum Solo (13. September 2023), Home Free - Adam Rupp Drum Solo 1 - Vienna - LIVE - 4K - 22/09/23, and Home Free - Adam Rupp Drum Solo 2 - Vienna - LIVE - 4K - 22/09/23. The last two are the same venue and date, might even be the same show, but the only thing repetitive about them is the audience clapping along and cheering. Home you enjoy!

NEW SUB FROM NORTHEAST OREGON, 14.9 MILES (DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS IN KM) EAST OF PORTLAND IN A VERY SMALL AREA MAYBE 1 OR 2 MILES BIG CALLED FAIRVIEW. ADAM WAS NOT HOPPING AROUND TO HYPE UP. HE HURT HIMSELF GOING UP THE STAIRS. SO, WHEN HE MOONWALKED, HE DID IT ON AN INJURED FOOT. CHECK OUT ONE OF HIS 2024 SOLOS. HE STARTS OFF HIS ROUTINE BY DOING A COVER FROM A WELL-KNOWN LOOPER ARTIST USING HIS OWN LOOPING MACHINE

Thanks for another great reaction. Always love watching these live videos of Adam's awesome talent. I think you watched an older one from 2015 a few weeks ago. This shows his updated version. Adam is such a trouper. He performed even though he had just fallen down. He does a great job doing the Michael Jackson dance moves. Also amazing how low he can go with the bass sounds.

First I'm recommending Home Free's video for Dolly Parton's 9 to 5. It has a wonderful office setting. After that go to Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015. All five of them take turns beatboxing and they sound great. Hope you enjoy those.

I appreciate the breakdown! And anyone that thinks you are "showing off" is just silly. And with all of the hard work that is put into your "art", you have earned the right to "show it off" if you get the chance! I was told that he wears the bandana & glasses to "enhance" some sounds just as he wore the fedora in Man Of A Constant Sorrow to enhance or manipulate other sounds. That's just hearsay though.

This was an outdoor show in Florida - that’s why the sunglasses! Also he had just fallen over, maybe hurting his foot a bit.. who knows. The first part of his solo is not included in this video.
Drop The Bass in the end is our favourite part of his performance! Sadly the phone recordings don’t catch the depths of it. I hope he will always keep it in his repertoire!

I don't know if he didn't do a looper portion for this or if it just wasn't recorded. I think the person started recording just to see how he recovered from a pretty bad fall on the stairs going up to the platform. Guess he got banged up pretty badly, which didn't stop Tim from tweeting asking if anyone got the fall on video. At any rate, starting after the lockdown, Adam added a looper portion. At first he was doing his own longer and more complex arrangement of ORAS by Saro (no dis to Saro -- Adam just has more time than they're allowed in a competition, so he's made it longer), with a very Trans-Siberian Orchestra-sounding arrangement of Carol of the Bells for their holiday tours. He's recently (like this year) switched to a different song. I'm not really familiar with the beatboxing world to know if it's an existing song he's arranged or something he's written himself. Since you're a beatboxer, I'd definitely recommend you find a full recent solo with the looper from 2022-2023, one from a holiday show, and then one from 2024. The post-looper parts are fairly similar. Oh, also one with the Billy Jean from 2016-2018-ish where you can see his feet is fun as well. The boy can dance.

Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but he has a degree in Musical Performance (Trumpet), so he's applied some of those trumpet techniques like double- and triple-tonguing and circular breathing to his beatboxing. He also just has lungs for days. There are songs with HF where he'll sing a single high harmony note just forever.
