Recent local wildfires unfortunately did reach Monte Rei but as of this morning all the fires onsite have been extinguished, and the heroic efforts of the local fire crews are something everyone at Monte Rei is deeply grateful for.⁠
We are very happy to report that all members of the Monte Rei team and all residents and guests are safe and well. The majority of the fire damage is limited to the native areas surrounding the golf course, although the one major casualty is the Academy Café, which sadly suffered extensive damage and will be out of use for the foreseeable future. ⁠The golf course and clubhouse will remain closed, and we expect to re-open on Friday 20th August.
We will continue to provide updates as necessary and in the meantime we wish to express our deepest sympathies to anyone in the region affected by these terrible fires.⁠
