Lots of tips if you watch the whole thing. Sunrise variety can take full sun. Mulch heavy with woodchips. High quality compost to keep them fed. Needs enough sunlight to produce well. Allow lower growth to shade the stems. Microclimates, planting close to the house / close to other plants / shade trees to protect from frost and afternoon sun.... Awesome video!
me and my fruit trees want to thank you by making all these videos you have made. some of my trees use to not be doing that good. but info I got from your videos. I started doing to the trees now they are doing a lot better. I watched your other video on the Shangri la mulberry tree. so I decided I wanted one of those trees. I had a very hard time finding that varity of mulberry. but I did find a three gallon tree went and got the tree it was loaded with mulberry's I ate some of the mulberry's and couldn't get my money out fast enough to pay for the tree. happy growing.
Did I miss something, I saw a mango tour, nothing about growing watering feeding placement of mangoes in the yard etc. (Million mango man! Tour of mangoes in ground Phoenix Arizona)
it looks like they are getting too much nitrogen right before flowering season. I had the same long pinnacles when I was feeding them nitrogen in spring. VPride would grow 3-4 feet long. Fruit seems to be smaller on long pinnacles compared to short ones.
Nice mango trees sir it's nice to see someone with some actual evidence of healthy fruit producing trees what would your recommendations be as far as shade and sunlight situations please sir thank you
You have some mango trees that have red trunks and it looks like some leaves have the same red color but just patches. Did you paint them ( for pest control maybe, please explain?) or is that the natural color? I think you called it Sunrise.
Where do you buy your mangos? Online any recommendation also was wondering have ever tried grafting some of the flordia mangos on a rootstock that does well in Arizona? I heard that turpentine rootstock perform like crap in California and Arizona bad news is that the majority if not all of Flordia Mangos are on that rootstock
@Rob Torres Yeah but he also stated that his mulch is the key to improving the flowering. Our tree is huge, but seldom gives but a few flowers. Get lots of sun too, but he doesn't say how to get in touch with him to buy his mulch.
Hey Jay, I have a Mango in a real 5 gal. pot. I bought it last Sept. from a local RUclips guru sort of speak. It was on sale and distressed looking so I figured I could love it back to health to no avail. After the last frost I pruned all the leaves so it was just a trunk. It now has new growth but once the leaves turn green most of them get a deformed shape. Can you help?
I would also like to pick up some Aztec Gold to feed my 7 fruit trees, most of which I planted in ground within this past year. Where and when can I get some?

What is your recommendation on the protection for the mangos in Phoenix for winter/summer?? Loction, type of microclimate etc??
Do you have a video talking about microclimates for mangoes? I want to plant a couple but I need to know where on my property they will do best in AZ.
Ill like to see how you relocate your mangos that need to be move. I grow my mangos in containers so your series would be awesome too.
The title said How to grow mangoes in Phoenix. I got little or no info on that, Just another look at my garden tour.

I've never seen mangoes blossom from the trunk amazing!!
I need to get my hands on a few mango trees. Any place you recommend in Scottsdale area. Shamus O'Leary?
hehe. Are you suggesting to yourself or asking any other place but Shamus's?
Phangz 83 I have nothing but respect for Don (Shamus) but I would like options and recommendations based on people's experiences.
Shamus has mangoes, a tropical concept, tropica mango, and queen creek tropicals
@E Cruz We grew ours from a seed. It's around 25 feet high now in 'fountain hills.

Doesn't actually give instructions on how to grow them, it's more of a show and tell. Beautiful trees though!
I got a small grafted mango from nursery last month I just cut the flowers because it's very small but I can't see any new growth :(
More like showing off my mangoes video and no tips
Anyways great garden and hope the mangoes set for a good harvest

probably zinc deficient. its hard to nurse back those "sale" trees
@@ArizonaFruitTrees ok, I'll add some zinc and see how it goes. When will you be having a tour this year?
