Songs like these really makes me sad. Because as previously stated by many we where born much too late to explore the world. We are stuck in our everyday jobs to constantly keep our future safe. Always worrying about tomorrow, never thinking about today. Beacuse you have lived this day so many times before... Imagine you and a party of friends, bonded by harships, love and trust. Not distracted by iphones, screens, and all the everyday noises of today. You are readying the horses and you gaze over an horizon not knowing what lies far over those mountains, hills lakes and rocks...you want that horizon because you will be the first one to lay eyes on whats beyond it...and now im back in my room again. i have to finish this comment and go to bed because i have work tomorrow...I´m a mess...

And not to forget traders of the sea like vikings was not always super rich yet they took the gamble. But that was not the point. My point still remains true. Even though most of them could only dream of such journeys there was still unknown places to go.

Your ancestors, probably even your grandparents wouldn't even have thought about being able to communicate this easily with people on the other side of the world. The darkness rages around him. He can't breathe, he can't move, but yet he feels as if he can do anything. He rises eventually from his dark state, the power forming inside of him. He looked at the battlefield in which he had just fought in. A girl his age comes over to him, whom was his friend and ally, and continued to say they won. They had. The land in which they lived was free of darkness, free of all evil, and peace was the only thing in the air around him. People from villages nearby were cheering for him now, their savior. Their hope. He had gotten rid of the evil in their land, the beast in which plagued their home. It was gone. It and it's blackheart was gone.

I am currently writing a book and I find this is the only suitable theme for it
From peasantry in the beginning, to royalty and a secure society of sorcerers. A journey on the seas where she falls in love with a pirate, and the final battle.
I refuse to release any more information from the plot due to the fact I have not yet finished the book nor released it.

I've always viewed the entire song as one man's battle to cope with the loss of a loved one, told through his playing of a violin:
0:00 the scene pans in to the man (in his 30's perhaps) at his wife's death bed in a well-furnished, comfortable room as he solemnly plays along while her life drains away.
0:36 a shadowy figure grips his shoulders and whispers into his ear. Likely saying things like "It's all your fault.", "You could have saved her.", "You didn't love her enough." This figure represents his inner demons wrestling with his logical explanations that it is just her time.
0:46 The man tries to turn away from the figure, who stays on him, constantly berating him with how he "failed as a husband" and should just give in to his sorrow.
0:56 With an anguished cry, the man collapses to his knees, unable to fight back these feelings. He sobs as he plays, while the shadowy figure dissipates into a cloud that rips around the room, displacing ornaments, cracking the walls, peeling the paint, breaking the furniture.
1:34 The room is in a much worse state. The walls are pale and the floorboards are rotted, the furniture is torn. The man looks older now, a graying beard on his blank face as the figure, now accompanied by a few more tear at the room, further degrading it. They do not touch him though, for the music keeps them at bay. But he is growing ever weaker, and wishes for it all to end. The figures draw closer and closer with every passing moment.
2:27 Sensing his weakness, the figures attempt to close in. Angry at the turmoil they wrack at him, he attempts to drive them back with this powerful verse. They recoil at the music, and the darkness over the room begins to lift and fade into a dull gray. Alas, he is not strong enough to drive them away forever, and his desperate fight takes a heavy toll on him.
3:04 With no more fight left, he collapses to his knees once again and begins to submit to the figures. The darkness descends again, and his fighting accomplished nothing. But, when all hope seems lost, a warm, white gloved hand grips his shoulder, he looks around and sees a group of pale, but beautiful women begin to circle him to protect him.
3:26 With the last of his strength, the man stands, his gray beard begins to gain color and his skin appears more youthful.
3:28 With the aid of his protectors (you can hear their choir) he unleashes his most powerful verse yet. The figures, unable to withstand the might of this powerful music, rip and tear around the group as the damages done begin to mend, the walls gradually regain their color, the rot peels away from the floorboards, the darkness is replaced by a white light that renews all it touches, and the figures begin to dissipate, defeated.
4:04 The figures gone, and the darkness lifted, the women step away, revealing one more person in the room: the man's wife, still as beautiful to him as the day she died. She glides toward the man as he feebly plays his last chord at 4:10 and weakly collapses into her arms. The man, now old with a long white beard gazes into her smiling face as his life drains from his eyes with the notes of the piano tune. Closing his eyes, he smiles in victory.
The "story" is supposed to be metaphorical in nature. The figures represent his depression as he copes with the loss of the woman he so desperately loved. The room is his mind, being torn to shreds by this depression. He fights to keep these feelings at bay, for if they take hold of him (if the feelings take complete control), he will die (suicide). The playing of the violin represents this fight, perhaps representing a hobby or something to lose himself in to forget about her death. He ages throughout this fight, for the fighting drains his energy. This also represents the passing of time as e continues to live with this regret and depression. In the end however, his actions alone were not enough to save himself. The women represent some outside force coming to his aid. They can be literally seen as angels (pointing towards him looking towards faith, whatever religion it may be) or even some friends or family to help him cope (which could still be seen as angels in his eyes). With all of this, he is able to shelve his depression, and in the end, he dies comfortably knowing that he will see her again in the afterlife, or at least knowing that they loved each other, and he was not to blame. This is represented by his wife's spirit holding him as he dies, much like he did her when she was dying. He dies happy, having won his fight with depression and knowing that he will be with her again.
Maybe not as epic as an actual fantasy fight, but its just what I see. It is a sad song, at least. That's what it makes me feel. Sorry for the wall of text.
