That honey works like catnip for a cat 😂 Isla is beautiful, thank you so much for all the facts, I didn't really know what a Tamandua was! But the anteater might some spring-cleaning now 💞
Isla is too cute! She’s one of my favorite animals in the zoo
9:23 secs Love this video. Thank you Ladies.
Love her little pink pads on her feet. Such a cuty pie.
That honey though, she's adorable with it.
I read today that the babies are called "pocos", so it seems they do have a particular name. Here is the article:
Tamanduas - Stinkers Of The Forest! - Things Guyana
www.thingsguyana.com/tamanduas/
A baby anteater is called a Poco. They are frequently kept as an exotic pet and are also used occasionally by Amazonian Indians as a form of biological pest control, utilizing them to rid their dwellings of termites and ants.
This is amazing! Isla is adorable! The honey part is my favorite. How fast can tamanduas go? -Paisley, 10

"Hey..hey! Less talk more fake ants!" - A. Anteater
Omg so cute 😍
Isla is adorable. Thanks for teaching us about tamanduas, and Isla in particular. I would have guessed anteater, but now I've got new vocabulary! Could you guys please check the underside of the base of her tail? Is that redness a rash, or is she a-ok? I'm really enjoying Home Safari. What a great idea. I've looked at some other Cincinnati Zoo videos too.

Does the zoo harvest the mealworms?
They said she had a baby recently. Where is her baby and what is his/her name?
When she had her claws curled under it looked like they were touching her pads. I am sure that it was just the angle of the camera.
She's cute! If they smell like skunks, does she make her keepers smell like that, too?

always kept Hungry .... so she (or whatever star animal is needing to be displayed ) will be co operative and ''so cute'' ... that is the same formula used at such as Marine world and other public animal entertainment facilities ... recently ... animal rights folks have busted such as Marine world and freed most if not all their imprisoned animal performers ... pathetic display of Isla and her keepers ... and Isla and her ilk do have natural enemies aka Man and his insistence of cutting down natural habitat ... sheeeesh ... zoo keepers not much different than prison guards ..
I think maybe they do this at meal time. Aren't you hungry at mealtime? I think most zoo keepers take very good care of the animals. They educate the public about the animals, and their plight in the wild. Knowledge leads to donations for care, interest in becoming animal caregivers, and voting to elect candidates most likely to be in favor of, and act upon, preservation of habitat. Featuring the animals at a time when they are most active, and showing what and how they eat, has the most educational value. Some facilities are bad, and need to be closed down, and their animals rescued. This facility is a good one, and deserves to be supported so it can continue to provide the best habitat enclosures possible, the best food, and best care. You may be passionate about animal welfare, but making false accusations doesn't help. Stick with factual information, and cite your sources. Have a nice day.
@@kele1264 this zoo as in all zoos function as a Side Show ... entertaining the hordes of two legged obsolete consumers of Mother Earth's bounty ... zoos are prime money laundering operations .. if you are so keen on saving animals - protect their habitats - all else is grist for soft minded quasi idiots ...
