    As a rugby lover, the ultimate was to watch David Duckham flummox defences with his devastating sidestep. The rush of excitement that produced gave me a feeling of what heaven must be like. I was lucky enough to see him in the flesh several times on the 1971 Lions tour of NZ. RIP, David, thanks for the memories.

    And that is the best of the English - that they can laugh at themselves - and that’s why Dai Duckam is remembered with affection in Wales to this day 👍

    david duckham would have been good enough to play in the great welsh team of the 70s......can pay him no greater compliment than that....

      I'm Welsh, but David Duckham was absolute class, what a sidestep! Always great to watch, poetry in motion - thank you so much for your performances and silky skills.
