“What are the Steelers thinking in Round 1? "I can't tell you the player, but I can tell you it'll be an offensive lineman," said one team source. There has been buzz about Pittsburgh adding a wide receiver at No. 20, but the feeling I got in making calls to teams this week is that the Steelers believe they're an elite team at drafting receiver talent outside the top 32 picks, and history backs that up. So someone like Georgia's Amarius Mims or Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton might make sense here. Either right tackle prospect would allow last year's first-rounder Broderick Jones to move to his more natural position after a strong rookie season on the right side.”

I really like Mimms. He is not as raw a prospect as some claim. His size, power and length is elite. All he needs is coaching and reps. Put him at RT and Jones where he belongs at LT - golden.

I've got several of my family members that are on your channel now my nephew's been a Steelers fan for years and now his kids are it's the Next Generation no we're not from Pittsburgh Steelers fans since 1972
I keep hearing how great the Steelers are at drafting wide receivers. They may have had some good hits over the years, but they have also had a lot of misses. The chances that they will draft a WR even close to the level of Brandon Aiyuk are low, even if they draft a WR in the first round (which is unlikely). Chase Claypool (1st round) and James Washington (2nd round) were very high Steeler draft picks who were busts. They have also had some busts in the later rounds like third round picks Sammy Coates, Dri Archer and Marcus Wheaton. Jury is out on C. Austin, but he was healthy last year and didn't show much. Yes they hit on Pickens, Ju Ju, and Dionte, but that's 3 out of the last 9. Those are not good odds, especially when your looking to win now. The Steelers had a strong run between 1998 and 2010 drafting WRs. They only had 2 bad misses, and about 7 really good hits during those years. They are average at best since then.

That's asking too much. The Steelers are not only excellent at drafting WR talent but also developing it as well. Why spend so much for one man when you can use one of the draft picks and still have a couple leftover.

This draft is critical for us. We have to be able to block for our Qb''s and offensive weapons. We also need to make plays on defense. The more three and outs we have, the more victories we will have. Fix that secondary and add some pass rush to that d line Braden Fiske and depth at inside backer with Payton Wilson or Cedric Gray. Add a long physical Cb and a nickel Cb.But all that said, Wr LSU Brian Thomas Jr. is my pick first. But this guy is just too good to pass up. Trade back up and take a C

I don't want to get a receiver for that much especially when they are gonna be a run heavy team most likely if I had to guess. So I think getting a young guy in the draft would be the better move

All I know is that unless the team focuses on the offensive line...and center...whatever receiver(s)...Pickens, Austin III, Aiyuk or an early pick in draft for a receiver...we need to focus on protecting the QB (whether it is Wilson or Fields). I would LOVE to obtain Tomlin's look-a-like to partner with Pickens! What a ride it would be!! But we need to be able to help them by giving them a bit more time to run their route and for the QB to be able to get the ball to them without always having to scramble.
Lt one round keep Jones on the right side the run game Improve immediately when he came in I say keep him there I would trade for Sutton for a 4 round if Omar can pull it off and get another wr later in the draft the steelers can draft wr well so later for that and my second maybe a cb third center or the other way round depending on who there when we pick

I am sorry but I still don't do this trade. Yes Aiyuk is great but save the picks and draft a damn rookie in the 1st and let him develop plus we get the 5th year option in 5 years if he works out. We have too many other needs that need to be addressed in this draft. I would probably think different if we were a receiver away from a deep playoff/championship run.
Problem with this, we need Jackson powers Johnson, and don’t expect Steelers to draft a wr in the 1st round, they haven’t drafted a wr in the first round in 20 years. They always get wrs in the 2nd round

All of the right tackles in this draft have weaknesses. Why would you take one in the first round? They can’t get Joe Ault ,so why not get the best center in round one? @justinwalters7953 we don't even know who the quarterback is going to be. Even though I'm excited and think they will be fine at quarterback, we still don't know. We got 2 quarterbacks that their own teams didn't even want.
Wilson wasn't bad in Denver Sean Peyton didn't want him. His numbers were better than ours at QB. Fields hasn't had time to develop with 3 different coordinators to start his career still had better numbers than our QBs. Wilson and Fields are both flat out better than what we had. Definitely need a wr with Pickens to keep defenses from stacking the box
