I was really confused how they managed to not only use a Superman shirt, but also have the Superman theme when Sloth opens his shirt. Then I see Richard Donner worked on the film, and it all made sense. Love how having a Superman shirt (or for Iron Giant's case, just an S on his chest) is storytelling short hand for a filmmaker to tell you a character is a really, really good person.
The one in Spiderman 2 is one of my favorites. As a huge Superman fan its a great moment because I remember thinking, well he doesn't have to be. That's when I realized you don't have to have Superman's powers to act like Superman. And iron giant at a close second, because we always have a choice

Superman made a Cameo in the 1996 Looney Tunes Short Superior Duck. I also love SUPER GROVER. Christopher Reeve the Actor who played Superman, made a couple Gust Appearances on Sesame Street. There was also an Episode of The Looney Tunes Show called Super Rabbit where Bugs Bunny tells Daffy Duck a Story of him as Superman. I have a counter for Sheldon. Superman was trained by his father in the fortress Solitude to control his powers if he remembered from watching the full movie. Yes it was a recording hologram but still counts.
If you ever need to explain to someone why superman is the most important comic book character to ever exist if not the most important fictional character ever, just make them watch the iron giant they’ll understand.
Big Bang Theory and Looney Tunes are my top 2. Even 80s one hit wonder Michael Sembello, of Flashdance soundtrack fame, had a tune called Superman. Seinfeld wouldn't crack my top 10. He's one character in an ensemble cast with a Superman action figure in the background, whereas all 4 of the Big Bang Theory boys love the Man of Steel.
I really only count 3 of those as legit though. I get this was a WB sponsored list but... REALLY?! You couldn't have just thrown in The Eternals or Marvel?
He's not the only one, but he definitely is the one that is mentioned the most, because Superman is just so iconic and part of our lexicon. Example, I've been watching Monk and Superman has been name-dropped twice in 3 seasons, usually as a synonym for "Hero".

It’s fitting that Looney Toons would spoof Superman being that Looney Toons and DC are owned by the same company.
Wow, I didn’t know Christopher Reeve appeared in ‘The Muppets.’
Don’t forget that the blue Boy Scout did a crossover with the Wascally Wabbit in the 4 part comic book series Superman and Bugs Bunny
