for some reason cardfight vanguard g started actually playing the game in this episode. for some reason you see the power and more drive checks can anyone can explain why?
*shrug* I guess they realized that having a character Stride one card and it instakills the opponent wasn't advertising the game well enough. It's probably to dramatize fights at their normal level.

You know how in anime when they raise their hand it makes that *swoosh* sound? Has anyone else tried to do that with their hand?
I get the fact that they are trying to show character development, and go in depth with the characters, but I miss it when we saw an actual fight. We got to see the characters and their development, and get to know and understand them with the original series, and we had full fights that showed us even more of the characters' personality. Now we are only getting half of the whole package. Sure we get to see into the characters' lives a bit more, but is it really necessary. Vanguard G just continues to disappoint me. I thought as it went on we would get to see a whole fight instead of fragments, but I guess I was wrong. It seems that show has lost the point of it all. The cardfights were the main part, but now it seems they come second. I loved to watch the fights when I first found this game, and that's what got me into it. Although if I was just discovering the game now and this was my first experience I might have stuck around and watched the anime, but I wouldn't have purchased any cards. I loved the fights, and seeing the cards used before they were released really made me get excited to try using them myself. Now they don't go into what the cards do. As a result I have no idea what's going on in the fight. I have been watching Vanguard since the very first episode, and I have no clue what's going on in the fight. That's saying a lot since I learned how to play from watching the original. Now when someone watches this they aren't going to be able to figure it out. I picked up on the rules as I was watching the episodes. Now the only thing people who are just starting the watch Vanguard are going to know how to do is stride if they have picked up on it. Besides Kamui explaining the rules in episode one we haven't seen anything else that would help new players get into the game. I know there are other people who have been watching just as long as I have who agree with me. I'm glad I found this when I did. Because now it is going downhill. I hope to see a major improvement in which we get to see something akin to the original.

If you watched any episodes from the first three seasons in English you would see what I'm talking about. It isn't the same. It is improving I'll give it that, but this isn't what I would call a full fight compared to what they had before.

Some people just don't understand. Have you seen the other three seasons on this channel. The fights that we have seen in the past are what a full fight has been. If you compare it to what we see here this is only a fragment. If you don't get it and you find this to be a full fight then you are welcome to your opinion, but there are some of us out there that miss the way it used to be, and this just isn't the same.
VGM7217 actually did they did show full fights in g. They keep going out of the fight for a second to see the spectators but other than that they are still there. And honestly the first season of the original series sucked it didnt pick up till way later

Oh god finally, Im wathcing this again and felt like it was not even as related to vanguard that I thought.
Also, not surprising given Bushiroad's previous track record, but we didn't get the new ending that started here in the original version. Oh well.

At this point dude, it's close enough. While that would be nice and I hope they do that eventually, I'm just glad I can tell what the heck is going on for the most part in cardfights now.

I like it better when Chrono says " let the wheels of fate spin" in the subbed version. That's my favorite Chrono Shindou line, the dub version of it is not nearly as good.

2 Things about this episode that makes it special:
-Kai (10:40-10:50,look closely at Shion's opponent)
-The old format
2 problems with that first part...
One: Isn't Kai technically a WAY Higher Grade (considering Kamui's Grade) and thus unable to compete in this competition.
Two: It's implied that Shion's on a winning streak. Kai wouldn't lose to someone like Shion, even IF he's changed a lot since the Season 3 (AKA his REVERSED arc).

I thought the tournament was for grade 3s and higher? And Kai being defeated by someone like Shion IS a possibility.
Simply Gaming Grade 3 and lower! Kamui said it early on, because he immediately suggested Chrono, as a Grade 2, should go there and gain some experience and get closer to Grade three himself.
If it was Grade 3 and higher, then Chrono wouldn't be able to be there officially, and he was (assuming the place was where the tournament was taking place. Given Shion's a Grade 3, it's not that far of a stretch.
Not to mention, I said he wouldn't lose, doesn't mean it still COULDN'T happen. Kai just has that kind of strength, and an Avatar's Evolution he was able to Remake over and over again. (Not to mention remaking basic Overlord into a Break Riding Unit!!) That kind of strength is something only AIchi's done (Some of his Royals changing to Gold Paladin for a time, showing their Connection with him).
