My 2 tips: I never let night time Catherine buy anything - I'd buy everything; and, I make myself read at least 20 1 star reviews - this tip has saved my HuNdReDs of dollars - especially if a lot of people say the same thing! 😎
I’ve been reading reviews too. The recent Ulta sale (whatever they call 21days of beauty now) is always a challenge for me. 50% off!!! But reviews help me remember that 50% off a crappy product is still a waste. I did pick up a few things, but did way better than usual.
Jen I love you for being so real…. No other creator is out here telling me NOT to buy things! A RUclipsr has every opportunity to make money by starting a grifty greedy cash grab. I’ve been watching for years because you totally love makeup & beauty and just want to talk about it with us. Thank you❤
This video came at the perfect time. I had to have a good talk with myself about not buying things I don’t need. I don’t need anything but I was scrolling through Sephora trying to find something to buy when I realized I was only buying things to try to fill a void in my life, I don’t actually need any of these things
Thank you for making this video. Whenever the Sephora sale comes around, I feel like the influencers I normally watch become out of touch. They say what you should and shouldn't buy but how many people actually qualify for the 20% off? Everyone says the Ulta sale is boring but at least it's 50% off
I really loved this. Honest, down to earth sensible advice. I liked that you gave objective reviews on both high end and drug store products. We need more of this.
Sometimes on days like this all you can do is take out your favorite mug make your coffee & blast music you haven't heard in a while. I was doing the same until this video popped up in my notifications.
Great video! This has been my mantra this year. Salary has been same 😢 for the past 5 years but Everything has gone up so much in past 3 years. Trying to be laser focused to pay down debt and get house in order. Happily will replace something I love at any price but only those that I use every day. Otherwise shop my stash.
Sick with my MS this morning and feeling the mounting pressure of the sale coming. I feel like I can say this is here but sometimes when I’m sick, I buy things I don’t need because they make me feel temporarily better. I don’t want to do that anymore though with rising medical costs and the economy. Thank you for giving me a safe space. 💜
MS Warrior here as well. I have had a really rough week at school (Self-contained Special Education teacher in Middle school). I am not gonna freak out about this sale. Probably buy a travel size fragrance or two to try out.
@@Sandusko yes April 7th, but now theirs a 50% sale until the 20th of April. Some brands are 30% and certain brands are buy 1 get one 50%. You can stack your points as well.
i don’t even have to worry about missing out at sales and new products because i have only been replacing products i already use daily. i’m going on vacation soon and i’m trying to save up as much money as possible
I remember Robert Welsh saying that a lot of mascara formulas are pretty much the same . He suggested to save the mascara brush if you find one you like and just buy a drug store mascara and use the brush with it . Genus ! I do love the rare beauty mascara - I am super fussy when it comes to my mascara
I needed to hear this. I have so so much stuff. It’s just overwhelming. I couldn’t use all of it. I have just a much as an influencer because I have been influenced so much. Lol
I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well. I also feel like life is squishing me. This past year has been ROUGH! But thank you so much for making videos. They brighten up my day 😊 I hope things get better for you babe ❤
Palettes are my weakness as well but, these couple rules have helped me so much. I’ll only buy IF: 1. I’ll use almost, if not all the shades 2. It’s truly unique to my collection in some way 3. In a post COVID world, it will go on sale & quicker than you think. I never ever buy a palette on launch. If I’m thinking about it a whole month later, chances are I may actually want it. I’m frugal & love a deal though but pre-2020 a lotta brand rly never went on sale but Black Friday weekend. Now, things go on sale so quickly! 💕
I am 54 years old and the eyeshadow palettes that I have, if they stayed good, I would never need anymore. My weakness as well but I learned to stop myself.
Thank you for commenting this tho cuz I was considering, but I am also a oily girly and know how that game goes lol But Jen is right, I don’t actually need any of this so I am going to put my money away and use up what I have lol
i have replayed this video many times over the last 12 hours due to the fact that 1) your voice is so soothing here haha 2) this content is so refreshing, important, informative and needed in a world of consumerism. i have a hard time with holidays and since it's easter i just really appreciated this video right now. also happy that i recently found your channel 💌
Thank you for this reminder. I have not been VIB for a long time so now I’m only eligible for 10% off which is honestly nothing…. Ulta as a store is SO MUCH better in my opinion. Ulta is also giving 20% off of everything today. There’s a lot of things I’d like such as a new perfume I’ve been eyeing or cream blush, but I already have multiple perfumes and one cream blush that works fine. I must stay strong and save my money.
You're right we don't need it. As I aged all this powder stuff isn't so good for me anymore so I decluttered and I have a small kit now. I used to have a tower of makeup.
For their face products, I find Milani to be an all around good brand! get it on sale if you can and you will have a great makeup day. now I need to try the revlon one, I am definitely going back to good old drugstore brands after the “clean beauty” craze making everything super expensive for no reason lmao
What I love doing instead of bronzer as a VERY pale person is get a powder one or two shades darker than me and use that. That alone makes me look like I’ve been hit by the sun. I apply it just like a bronzer. I also really like the urban Decay all nighter powder, it comes in the one shade but it oxidizes to your skin. If you’re pale enough it warms it up.
Feeling yucky right along with you, Jen. Thank you for being REAL. Thank you for talking me out of splurging, because like you, I tend to shop when I’m sick or down…and right now I’m both and this was a much-needed video. Hope you feel better soon as well! 🩷🩷🩷
I love your voice in this. So sorry to hear it’s been rough, and hope you and your family are well and the gloom picks up soon, but it was so nice to see you a little more relaxed. It felt almost ASMR-y in sound. Was very comforting to listen to and, as always, you talk about such important things no one else does. You are such a brilliant creator Jen. Thanks for all you do ❤
The sad reality is that social media shows us we desperately need all this stuff but nobody cares in real life! I remember a comment from a woman saying she showed up at work wearing an expensive Chanel lipstick, she was very proud but soon realized nobody noticed, nobody asked what she was wearing, nobody cared. I remember when I read this comment made me reflect on this, I'm not saying I use beauty and makeup to impress people, it's our own therapy yes but we are also tricked to believe we need all the viral products we see, every single shade, finish or just the same product bur different brands but the reality is 9 times out of 10 some girl wearing random makeup will get more attention than you and you might think you don't care but although I buy these things for myself yes, I admit it bothers me if no one cares sometimes because at the end of the day we also use beauty to be the best version of ourselves, let's be real.
I'm being squished too. No one needs to read past this, I'm just yelling into the void bc I have no one right now to do that with that isn't fully in this boat with me. My dad has brain cancer. And lung. But they're not worried about the lung, easy peasy. But he just got his radiation for his brain, and you only get one shot so we're praying it works. My husband and I got sick in Feb and I got better and my husband didn't. C19 negative, I think it was the that stomach virus.. anyway. He's 99% getting a full rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. He's in such constant pain since mid Feb that all he does is scream and cry. I have to help him put on his jacket and get his water and fix his bedding. All stuff I would do anyway out of love, just putting into perspective that my once able bodied husband who worked out daily, can't even hold a glass in the mornings bc he's so swollen. I've been sleeping on the couch bc his pain is so bad, he's just constantly moaning and screaming in pain. I just needed to let all this out. It's been so hard but I'm keeping as positive as possible. And I'm not complaining, I would do anything and everything my husband or father need, it's just so hard to watch my two favorite strong men fall apart on front of my eyes like this. And I'm just so tired. I can't imagine how tired they are. If anyone did read this, thanks. I needed that.
I have loads of now expired foundations that I will still use. They smell fine. I did get the Haus Labs one on Robert Welsh’s recommendation, as I have my cousins wedding in May, so wanted to treat myself to a new one. I also finally got blushes in tones that suit me, cream and powders and the Rare Beauty highlighter. I’m done buying make up again. I have my mascaras and the only thing I might get is a lipstick in a tone that suits me. They all pull orange on me. I’m neutral leaning cool, so it’s so hard to find the right balance.
I’m so happy to say that all of my Sephora cart are things that I need because I have ran out/almost ran out! On top of that I have a bunch of gift cards that I’m saving just for the sale. But to look at make up I don’t need is always tempting. I DONT NEED IT.
I totally agree. ❤ I am 66 yrs old, I am a makeup fan, I am a creator, which put me as a ROUGE since 2013. Last year, Id heard storiesfrom viewers over 50 who were ignored or pushed to buy products that would not work for them. Also, the tier system is not the value Sephora should place on their customers. When Ulta gives everyone the same discount, gives points for purchase, 20% off coupons several times a year, more sales and $3.50 off coupons weekly, it is apparent which of these companies appreciates their customers...ALL of their customers. Last year, I purposely bought less than $500 from Sephora, so this year, I was demoted to INSIDER, after 10 solid years of ROUGE buying. I felt slapped in the face. So this is how I was treated. "F" Sephora.
Sephora employees were just trying to convince me Ulta sucks! The lies smh. Those discounts you mentioned from Ulta just influence me…there’s just more sephoras in my area.
I've deleted sephora from my phone and the last purchase I made was in the beginning of January. The last 2 years I've been rouge I don't plan on being Rouge next year.
Great video! I don’t use primer on my 64 year old dry mature skin. I expect my foundation or skin tint to do the job and don’t even own a primer. Hope you feel better soon ❤
Such a refreshing reminder to avoid over consumption. I personally find it hard to shop for makeup in Canada because we do not have an ulta and while shoppers carries essence they only have the core assortment not the collections. I like to shop during the estee lauder cosmetic outlets sale and that was I can get higher end products for a more affordable price. Since I can find Mac lipsticks there for $10 it turns out cheaper than the drugstore...
It is so reassuring to know your opinion on the essence and colorpop eyeliners, they don't work on me either! They smear and look pretty bad only after about an hour. The essecene one is incredibly dry. It's nice to know I'm not alone!
It’s sunny in NY but chilly :/ Watching this while reading emails in my big red fluffy robe and sipping tea. This vid came at a perfect time for me!! Thanks Jen :)
Mascara is certainly a personal preference, I’m happy that the ELF one that dupes the Benefit Rollerlash works really well for me! I just got my second tube and have found that it works best once the formula has dried out a bit. It’s also super easy to remove! $6 can’t beat it 🤩
Nothing on my list but replacing my K18! Don’t need anything else! I made that mistake in the past and have backups already and don’t need any more. All great advice.
Love loved listening to this video. In the last like 8-9 years I was always buying THE NEXT perfect foundation or highlighter. This is actually the first year in a very long time that I’m not a rouge member and I honestly love it. we don’t need anymore PERIOD.
This video came in clutch! Thank you so much Jen. Love your honesty. However I have a question. I've been eyeing the new makeup forever HD face essentials palette. It is something that I need, (as far as product because I ran out of concealer and blush and I'm running out of contour) but $88 is way to expensive for me. Are there any dupes that you recommend? If anyone can answer this, I would greatly appreciate it🙏🏼
I have an eyeshadow palette problem, but like you mentioned, the ones at Sephora are basic, and I want the wow factor of a fresh box of crayons! I did go to Ulta this week and picked up a NYX Smooth Whip and LOVE it. I wanted a bright lilac purple lip, Snuggle Sesh, and options are limited, but this one is a beautiful color and I love the velvety feel. It is a dry, but that’s what I like. Thank you for the reminder that I don’t need anything else!
I have probably 20 different lip oils from different brands from High end to write down at the bottom and my favorite one is by far L. A girl and they were like $3.50. And those are my favorite and I bought the $40 dior lip oil. So I have a good range of lip oils. And I'm telling you those $3 ones for LA girl. They are the one. And it's in a really big tube, so you're getting a lot. The wand is beautiful as a whole in the middle. It holds a lot of product. It's just awesome. You should try it.
idk if it’s part of the sale, but the waterproof liquid eyeliner from Physicians Formula is SO GOOD! Tati turned me on to that one years ago and she was totally right
I've been doing great at not buying crap lately. I've found cheaper staples to purchase like Equate Cerave dupe cleansers, a $10 Korean SPF, the NYX HD powder. Like I feel good using those things because they work great, I get to do my routine, and save $$$. I completely skipped the 21 Days sale this time, too.
I use the butter bronzer everyday! I found I had to go deeper in shades and use a duo fiber brush to get the best result. The ELF blush palette is amazing and you get four colors in one with awesome pigment. The ELF palette is a staple for me everyday too.
Since Covid I just wear bb cream, fill in my eyebrows a bit, lipstick and mascara 🤷🏽♀️ if I’m going out and feeling a bit fancy I’ll wear eyeshadow lol idk what I was thinking wearing a face full of makeup for many years. I have thousands of dollars I invested in makeup and it’s just sitting there in my vanity. Some I know won’t harm my 4 year old I’ve passed on to her for her to play with lol I’m only looking forward to the Sephora sale to buy Mizani shampoo and conditioners.
Hi Jen, I’m in Kentucky for my grandson’s christening. It’s cold here but sunny. I wish I was back in Florida where it was warm. I’m here for four more days. I finally got the Nick slick stick and I love it and went back and bought another color in it. I really don’t need anything. The only thing that I would want to get is the hood of BEAUTY eyeshadow palette. The Rose Court one everything else I have. I just bought two of the elf bronzing sticks. I don’t need anymore and I got them for three dollars apiece.
Yes! Those small essence palettes are fantastic, buttery soft. Just pick a color way you like and you will be good. The shimmers are true shimmers, not glitters.
Would you consider doing a video duping some of the merit lipstick colors with good drugstore formulas? I was really interested in getting some during the sale because I like how their colors seem a little more nuanced and unique than many others. I don’t usually buy high end lipstick, so especially after hearing your thoughts on the formula, it doesn’t seem like anything special, I just really love the colors.
Good morning everyone, the only thing I’m buying from the Sephora savings is: rare beauties highlighter cause I finished it and the Sephora tone that I love for my skin care routine, and the Sephora foundation brush that works amazing and when it comes to my eyeshadows, I get them from Lethal Cosmetics and Fenty bronzer, because I finish. Have a wonderful day everyone be safe out there.❤❤
I went to the Sephora sale the first day it started. I made a list of stuff I have been wanting to try out and really consciously tried to decide if it was warranted. I went through my current makeup beforehand, had a reality check of how much stuff I have and what I would actually use. Went through my stash of makeup that I am saving to try once I use up what I currently have. Decided to donate some unopened stuff because I’m realistically not going to use it. Had have a stern talk with myself that it’s better to donate than continue to hoard it; I only have one face! lol Then when I went to the sale, had to give myself like a million pep talks during the whole experience! I was just going to stick to my list and maybe veer off a little if it’s something I don’t have yet. Proud to say, I only bought 2 things not on my list, one was travel size, the other was on my list but then I removed it. Just swatched so beautifully in store, I was weak! Lol. Thank you for making this video and remind us that we really don’t need anything! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I am all about reprogramming myself in this moment in terms of overconsumption. Thank you for helping me stick with this theme and be reminded that I really truly don’t need anything I don’t already have! 🙏🏼😇🙏🏼
OMG! I’m so excited now! I’ve been looking at that revolution concealer for months! I think I’ll try it!! I’m dying to try the Revlon foundation. I heard it’s similar to the beloved Haus Labs and other super luxury foundations. I can’t thank you enough!!
Also some more food for thought is, you can want to try different formulas. But unless it’s limited edition, you don’t need to get it right now. Use what you have and then buy it when you need something for your rotation
I’m gonna be supporting indie this time around. If I’m gonna try something new I might as well support a small business. I basically only use the sales to buy skincare staples that I go through really quickly.
I’m sorry life is squishing you. I get that. I’ve been doing way too much online browsing lately because I’ve been overwhelmed by a really big life change. It isn’t even that I’ve been spending too much money (little more than normal, it’s fine, I’m giving myself a little grace while also gently reigning it back in). It’s more the time. There are better, healthier (for me) ways of spending my time that would also probably make me happier. Anyway, bought a couple random refills at Sephora today. My favorite deodorant (oddly enough, with the way prices have been going it’s a similar price to drugstore these days), an SPF lip balm because I’m out, and a new tinted lip balm because I burned through my tinted lip oil way too fast and I’m hoping I’ll go through it slower in the bullet format. Don’t care about the sale. And now I’m done shopping for a while.
I wish you better health soon. Thank you so very much for giving me a piece of mind on the subject of Bronzer and Contour because I have never been able to get them to look right on my big round face. The other thing with me is buying one foundation after another and not finishing any. I love watching your videos. Keep doing the right thing because I look to you to speak the truth as you feel it and still letting me make up my mind.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🌹👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It was 80 degrees yesterday for the 1st time this year in the SW! It almost froze the night before but no snow shoveling to worry about! Sorry to hear you’re not in the best of places. I have a sign that says Happy Everything, I find that finding something to smile about helps❤
Jen I live in Maryland too and the gloom has been really effecting me 😩 appreciate the video and highlighting the prevalent issue of over-consumption!! I used to buy soo many products, many of which ended up going into the trash due to them expiring before I could finish. I’ve been trying to be a more conscious consumer myself, making myself stop and think before buying. I love how you presented products while at the same time saying if you already have something similar or you don’t need it, don’t buy it! ❤
i LOVE the colourpop cheek dew 😭 literally bought 8 tubes because i couldn’t find it anywhere and it was half off online because i was scared it would go away. i don’t find it sticky at all after you blend it out! also love the lip stain from them
@@ivania321 it’s the only serum blush i’ve liked so far!! and so inexpensive 💙 those two products + the got2b glued spray for my eyebrows are the only products i use and i use a looooot of blush, can’t be runnin out! lol
First, you are my favorite RUclipsr ❤ Second, thank you for showing the ulta alternative. Ulta's point system is so much better that I shop there when I can
You have a very beautiful voice, pleasant and soft! First time watching you, I will watch again. I too am becoming aware of the insanity of accumulating products but it is fun until you actually look at the volume you have purchased! STOP but kind of addicted like a kid playing in skin care and makeup…..a treasure hunt!
I’m definitely quite a bit behind here, but for something else that has truly stood out to me when I was needing a new foundation, I ended up buying the bullet and trying something new and purchased the new Morphe foundation and it is $20 and came with a dual ended brush, which I don’t know if it still is, but it and the Makeup Revolution Skin Silk are both super nice and one that I know I’ll run back to like I used to with the Armani Luminous Silk. I love that I don’t have to spend that much to find a foundation that will work with my weird undertone/skin colour combo. I think the only thing I have purchased on the Sephora sale this time around was the Givenchy Setting powder, but while that is still a splurge with the sale, it lasts me about a year and a half so it’s worth it to me. Everything else? I would say only buying something you normally wouldn’t if that company doesn’t have sales on a regular basis and you’ve just been dying to get it!
Great video, Jen! We all need this reminder sometimes, especially those of us who emotional-shop in this crazy world. Hope things get better in your world ❤ Thank you for being so authentic. Btw, for foundation, the Loreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum is THE BEST foundation out there. Can be build to whatever coverage you like, and looks incredible on the skin. Better, imo, than anything that costs more!
My first primer blew me away but during covid I realized I didn't even know what it was I wanted from it anymore. I took a step back and reconsidered. Primers are great for fixing a specific issue but a waste of money otherwise. For my older skin I still use them but seek hydrating (which many don't need if using a good daily moisturizer) primer with sunscreen.
Oh good! I’m glad the mystery was finally solved on what liner Phoenix uses ☺️ I remember during an old live when you couldn’t remember which one it was and we were all like heyyyy!!! 😅 we wanted to know
I'm on a debt free journey and you are right, I do not need anything. My husband was out of his favorite cologne and I had planned to wait until the sale to get it. However, a 20 percent off coupon showed up in my ulta app so I used that. Because I'm only VIB with the 15 percent. Ultas spring haul is Starting on the 9th and I'm definitely picking up a few needs. I use up all of my face products typically and my skin is changing from winter dry to summer oily.
This is super helpful!! The only thing I’m going to buy in the sale is a different shade of the tower 28 concealer because the one I have currently is too dark. Trying to limit myself to just that
Thank you for sharing the drugstore options Jen. I do need everything again all my makeup was / is expired . When covid hit it mentally took a toll on me and I didn't touch my face and so on and all my makeup sit for over 3 years now so all my foundations were separated lipsticks expired ECT. And me just trying to buy enough makeup for a full face again has been a struggle to say the least so I appreciate you adding in those options and I'm taking notes. I'll get there again. 💙💛❤💚💜
I completely agree, my tastes are genuinely changing because the Sephora site is boring as ALL GETOUT to me right now. There are 3 things in my cart (as opposed to 12-15 in previous years). I have been rouge for about 6+ years and I’m thinking this year I give up. There is nothing innovative, truly colorful or anything I really neeeeeed. I’m with you sista!!
The Revolution Renaissance flick eyeliner is phenomenal! I haven’t tried the waterproof version but the original is awesome, and at $9- yes please! The NYX liquid eyeliner was great, but randomly turned from dream to nightmare! My daughter loved it, but I bought her a new one (after a couple months) and it randomly started LEAKING INTO HER EYE upon application. I was horrified!! We’ve since switched to the Sonia Kashuk eyebrow brush (that thing is PERFECTION!!) and a potted gel liner. ❤
YES!! This is the type of content I LOVE. Thank you for the reminder that I don’t need 8 foundations. I don’t need a more expensive blush in the same color I already have 5 of. I needed this. ❤
Thank you for this video. I am feeling squashed and flat as a pancake right now 😕 I’m really trying to commit to ‘shopping my stash’ rather than buying new. I don’t really NEED anything. Have a great weekend! Hugs 💜🌸
I have been on a very low buy going on two years now and I’ve stuck with it pretty good. I just buy things to replace and my foundation, I use Salt New York’s Sneaky Balm which isn’t sold at either store so I do not need anything either. Thanksfothe advice Jen!😊
When it comes to bronzer/contour, I love the Wet 'n Wild sticks for those too (you mentioned the highlighter one, which I also love!). I use the blushes from the same line as well, and love all 3 and feel that they work as well as nearly anything you will find at Sephora and they are all very long lasting on the skin as well! (I have combo skin and they last all day plus!).
I wasn't expecting a Friday vid today bc of your community post, so this feels like a little extra dose of Jen this week! Thank u Jon for getting the audio fixed lol 🙏
I am more dry but the Cover Girl Clean Fresh Skin Milk foundation is one of the best inexpensive foundations I have found. Also the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator. For high end I splurge on Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation during a sale.
Always need the reminder that we don’t need anything. I just bought my spf and I have enough of everything else.❤
What spf do you recommend
@@gracemedina1320 I really like the Dear Klairs All Day Airy. It was a suggestion from a RUclips user and worked out great for me!
Innisfree spf and I really like it.
@@gracemedina1320 I use Dear Klairs All Day Airy
I also love the Innisfree sunscreen! it's honestly the only thing I'll be buying at the sale too.

I’ve been reading reviews too. The recent Ulta sale (whatever they call 21days of beauty now) is always a challenge for me. 50% off!!! But reviews help me remember that 50% off a crappy product is still a waste. I did pick up a few things, but did way better than usual.
Sometimes I order things and when I get it I’m wondering why did I buy this lol

I agree!

Not the Sephora ad before the video 😅
they be trying us!! no but for real tho, this is such a good topic to talk about, and i'm glad i found her channel
Such a creative n catchy screenname btw 😉@@billieseyelashes

Lol 😂😂
I didn’t have the ad, but they probably around know that I’ve spent quite a bit during the sale 😓
Thank you for making this video. Whenever the Sephora sale comes around, I feel like the influencers I normally watch become out of touch. They say what you should and shouldn't buy but how many people actually qualify for the 20% off? Everyone says the Ulta sale is boring but at least it's 50% off

Same here.
I am not buying anything from Sephora sale nor Ulta bc let’s be honest these “sales” suck in comparison to earlier years.
Hope you feel better soon 🙏
Warmest hugs
i have MS too, almost 22 years. i hope tomorrow is better for you. from one MonSter fighter to another 🧡🧡
MS Warrior here as well. I have had a really rough week at school (Self-contained Special Education teacher in Middle school). I am not gonna freak out about this sale. Probably buy a travel size fragrance or two to try out.
If your an Ulta member theirs a 20% coupon until 4-7, and you can use your points too.
April 7th?
@@Sandusko yes April 7th, but now theirs a 50% sale until the 20th of April. Some brands are 30% and certain brands are buy 1 get one 50%. You can stack your points as well.

Lol
Same girl, same
Right? I could be paying down credit or save for our upcoming trip.
I’m liking this “mood” of yours. Paced, calm, not hyper. Voice is good as well. I can finish this pleasant vid.
Haha! Yay! I was actually nervous that people would be bored and think I sounded like Eeyore, but I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
More of this conscious consumerism content please!! I would be thrilled if you leaned into this. Also, I hope life eases up on you soon ❤
I’ll only buy IF:
1. I’ll use almost, if not all the shades
2. It’s truly unique to my collection in some way
Laying in bed with my dog on a mental health day. This is absolutely the video I needed. Life has been squishing me too recently ❤️
Hope your dog is making you feel better. My dogs are my life savers..
I really loved this video
My whole bathroom is Sephora right now and you’re absolutely right we always buy things we don’t need, I must declutter make up and clothes instead 😅❤
I am 54 years old and the eyeshadow palettes that I have, if they stayed good, I would never need anymore. My weakness as well but I learned to stop myself.
Jen, I am so so sorry for whatever is going on in your life right now. Sending a gentle hug to you and your family.
❤ for sure ❤ you got this momma
As an oily skin girly, the Sephora best skin ever foundation was absolutely horrible, so bad I trashed it 😭 to each their own though.
Thank you for commenting this tho cuz I was considering, but I am also a oily girly and know how that game goes lol
But Jen is right, I don’t actually need any of this so I am going to put my money away and use up what I have lol
This doesn't really have anything to do with the video, but I love how supportive you are of Phoenix. I wish my mom had been like you.
i have replayed this video many times over the last 12 hours due to the fact that
1) your voice is so soothing here haha
2) this content is so refreshing, important, informative and needed in a world of consumerism.
i have a hard time with holidays and since it's easter i just really appreciated this video right now. also happy that i recently found your channel 💌
I’m not shopping these sales either. Yes there’s things I want but nothing I need. Thanks Jen! Happy Easter weekend!
Thank you ❤ I’m on a low buy: no buy. You’ve reinforced my resolve.
I really needed this today. I think I have a makeup problem. Maybe we need our own 12 step program😢
I don't have FOMO on the Sephora sale. I understand how u feel about life giving us the "blahs".
The things we need are water food and a roof over oir heads. Makeup is definitely a want, but a really fun want lol
You're right we don't need it. As I aged all this powder stuff isn't so good for me anymore so I decluttered and I have a small kit now. I used to have a tower of makeup.
been watching sale videos this week just out of curiosity. really appreciate the grounding
That new Mario eyeshadow palatte is so tempting. I have Colourpop Stone Cold Fox palatte. Very similar colors.
Thanks for all you do ❤
These videos are what we need! We are buying things we don't need and end up forgetting we even have it because we buy too much!
🙏
🙏
I have loads of now expired foundations that I will still use. They smell fine. I did get the Haus Labs one on Robert Welsh’s recommendation, as I have my cousins wedding in May, so wanted to treat myself to a new one.
I also finally got blushes in tones that suit me, cream and powders and the Rare Beauty highlighter. I’m done buying make up again. I have my mascaras and the only thing I might get is a lipstick in a tone that suits me. They all pull orange on me. I’m neutral leaning cool, so it’s so hard to find the right balance.
We have the same undertone! You’re so right 🙂↕️
I’m so happy to say that all of my Sephora cart are things that I need because I have ran out/almost ran out! On top of that I have a bunch of gift cards that I’m saving just for the sale. But to look at make up I don’t need is always tempting. I DONT NEED IT.
YES! Love that!
$6 can’t beat it 🤩
I was so surprised by the ELF. I like buying high end, presuming you get what you pay for. But the ELF one works reliably.
I can relate! I do the same buy things I don’t need! Ty for being you❤
Nothing on my list but replacing my K18!
I wanna try the slick stix ❤ my lips are so dry lately ❤❤❤
Had have a stern talk with myself that it’s better to donate than continue to hoard it; I only have one face! lol
Then when I went to the sale, had to give myself like a million pep talks during the whole experience!
If the eyeshadow is a one pot deal or just a small palette like the Essence ones you mentioned, you can carry it with you to reapply with gloss.
I’m gonna be supporting indie this time around. If I’m gonna try something new I might as well support a small business.
I basically only use the sales to buy skincare staples that I go through really quickly.
So refreshing to hear this. A BIG thank you as I feel RUclips has almost become HSN.
I LOVE the Tony Moly Banana lip balm! I use it to "measure things" cause we all need a banana for scale!
Thanks Jen I live in Maryland too and I feel ya thank you for being your lovely self
i LOVE the colourpop cheek dew 😭 literally bought 8 tubes because i couldn’t find it anywhere and it was half off online because i was scared it would go away. i don’t find it sticky at all after you blend it out! also love the lip stain from them
That’s love ❤ 8 tubes ❤❤❤❤😂❤I would do this tho❤
@@ivania321 it’s the only serum blush i’ve liked so far!! and so inexpensive 💙 those two products + the got2b glued spray for my eyebrows are the only products i use and i use a looooot of blush, can’t be runnin out! lol
First, you are my favorite RUclipsr ❤ Second, thank you for showing the ulta alternative. Ulta's point system is so much better that I shop there when I can
I love the L’Oréal máscaras more than ELF. My favorite is voluminous and telescopic lines.
One thing about Sephora is you can ask to get a sample and try it and know if you like it. Then can still buy before the end of sale
Thank you Jen for keeping me sane! ❤️ I have chronic migraine and your videos get me through it!
