- The Forgotten Desert, otherwise known as TFD, is the most popular AJC adventure used by people in order to get rare items like spikes, clothing betas, den betas and more but today the adventure seemingly has vanished. In this video I talk about AJHQ removing TFD from Animal Jam, why this might be and some hacks that potentially may have influenced this to happen.

As said in the video, I presume this is temporary but it's still weird that this happened nonetheless 😅 What do you guys think happened to TFD?
EDIT: AJHQ has since posted on Instagram announcing TFD was disabled for “unforeseen technical issues” and will return as soon as possible!
It happened because people were farming the shards via a client, so AJHQ is most likely updating the adventure
You can host it via a client with the packet, but you cannot play the adventure.
@@LocalAnimeTv I'm aware this is something people have been doing (heard someone farmed about 10,000+ CBs from doing so) but it seems really late for them to attempt to fix this issue. It's been an issue for years and was the main reason Spikes were removed from the adventures as well. Maybe if they fix it fully we'll see spikes back in the prize pool but I'm doubtful

And yes all the adventures are still getting exploited today, ROTP is a big one getting exploited everyday I’d be wary when trading for cbs and such since they’re being farmed.
For anyone wondering, on their insta story it says "AJ Classic's "The Forgotten Desert" Adventure has been disabled due to unforeseen technical issues. Right now, we don't have an estimate of when it will become avalible again. We apologized for the inconvenience!" So it is confirmed to be temporary, but who knows how long it will take to fix.

I hope they bring it back soon because otherwise the whole game is going to tip. Tfd is one of the baselines to the game and doing this on such short notice without telling anyone is gonna get a LOT of people mad at them and the game.

Honestly, ever since Feral (if ya know, ya know), I hold a bit of a grudge against Wild Works and have no trust in them- nor respect for them- whatsoever anymore. What they did once upon a time was down right cruel.
Does anybody even know how Cinder is going so far? I can't imagine it's all that well, if it ever even got off of the ground.

I am praying they are revamping it and trying to put spiked collars back in, would be devastated if its gone perm. I am only just playing on ajpw as its more fun. i would go back to classic if they bring it back and the spikes in it too.
Lately people have been using the Return of the Phantoms adventure to farm items and I guess they're doing it on The Forgotten Dessert, too. If you join the Return of the Phantoms adventure alone on hard mode, some bots will join you and instantly bring you to the end of the adventure to get instant prizes. I've only seen it done with that one, I haven't heard anything about the Forgotten Dessert, but I assume that's why it may have been taken down. But if that was the case, they would've taken down the other adventure too. I'm not sure if people are doing it with other adventures or not
What's weird to me is that this has been a known problem that is intentionally ignored. Also, had no clue bots would just spawn out of nowhere and join you on RotP if you tried going solo sometimes. I'm genuinely concerned that the game is regularly exploited and little is done to prevent it from happening. I know AJC runs on a dead engine (Flash), but this is embarrassingly sad. Still curious what the issues were with TFD, since, as you basically said, if it were due to exploits, RotP would have been shut down, too.
Happened to me on tfd back in 2020, we got all the prizes at the start but it was a whole person, not a bot (they talked and everything). Their animal would also have effects from other places on, like holding a cork and that "water purification" shine from one of the platform adventures.
I grew up with this adventure :( I’m really sad about hearing this but I hope they’ll fix some stuff and add spiked collars back into the game! I miss the thrill of getting them so much
My ideal would be for them to update The Forgotten Desert to not only bring back spikes, but also get some other prizes. I don't care about rarity, but I do care about having a lot of items to choose from and I hate how prohibitively expensive a lot of the rarer items are. Though this probably won't happen.

i’ve been playing animal jam classic for years and this is the first time animal jam has done something like this without announcing or saying anything my personal opinion I think they might even replace the forgotten is it with a completely different new mission which is why they’ve left the portal there but we never know
I know why they have disabled it; Nazara are making executive changes to Animal Jam and they are starting with The Forgotten Desert. The AJHQ post is to prevent backlash. The board at Nazara (Wildworks subsidiary) are making many changes but need to actually decide what's in and out, so for that time, TFD is removed.

Highly unlikely, even if they were there are too many items in tfd it wouldn't be the same anyhow. Too many exploits possible, spikes can't be easily obtained and stay desirable and AJ seems to be going a more reserved route with them.

Animal Jam said on their Instagram page that the Forgotten Desert was temporarily shut down due to technical issues. It should return one day and is not going away forever.

My guesses for why TFD is disabled could be that there could be a bug that players/hackers are exploiting to obtain every single rare in the game or the devs could be making some changes to it

It's been a few days and AJ has still not announced anything official besides their (temporary, and now gone) story. There are still players not in the loop about what is going on, and rumors about the adventure being hacked are very rampant. I really don't understand or support how AJHQ has handled this situation, and I hope we get more answers soon
I’m going to miss this adventure :( I remember grinding on this adventure for hour and hours on end trying to get a spike, can’t wait till it returns
A long time ago i remember getting both a red spiked collar and a wrist spike from this adventure and being so happy i cried. I traded both away before I quit. Seeing this video brought back fond memories!
I wonder if this has something to do with the portals in ajpw?? But that may be far-fetched. Maybe they just want people to enjoy the holidays lol. Or perhaps they plan on trying to fix the exploits. Who knows. It'll probably be back eventually!

Spikes have been an item long since removed from all adventures due to excess farming from people exploiting the game. TFD is going to return indefinitely, as WildWorks said there's "technical issues" with the adventure that they're fixing. Probably trying to update it so it can't be farmed by hackers, but who knows. AJC is on its last legs.
