This was definitely the best Course Record video yet... Shoutout to Riverside Golf Club for letting play their course!
Here's a challenge, The Deltona Club. It's on the east end of the I-4 corridor and it built into an old sand quarry. The elevation changes are substantial for (east coast) Florida, fairways are wide, water is nonexistent and the greens are fast.
The place is a blast to play, check it out!

I've played this course at least 20 times. Me and my usual group have been talking quite often about how fun it'd be to see Tour Pro play the usual courses. This is so far one of the best ones of the series. Thank you for doing this! Seein that you miss into the same spots as all of us, is a testament to how much it means to know the course you play. Do Sky Creek Ranch, allegedly 6 most difficult starting holes in the DFW area.
I would love to see him play sky creek.

@@ryank843 Pro vs. Sunday hacker... As he stated a few times the expectations are that pro will always succeed and hit only good hits. For example, the 3rd hole tee shot is long but ends up in exactly the same spot as where my usual group long-hitters miss. 4th hole is an even better example, most people who have played that hole a few times remember that there's a lot of space on the right side of the bunker where BD ended up. Even "Sunday hacker" would end up there in a good spot, then the second shot is where 99% of people hit when they try to avoid the left side bunker. Luckily it didn't roll into the water behind, even more impressively chip in birdie from there. I'm sure Mr. BD would break the record with the second attempt by just remembering two or three tee boxes better (6th for example) -- I hope this clarifies what I meant. I enjoyed a lot of this episode, a course that I know quite well and I know where I aim, and where I miss. I felt very connected, except that I'd play one or two tee boxes shorter.

@@mufaro984 holes 11, 12, and 13 at Augusta National GC are known as Amen Corner. Bryson was three over par on those three holes of the final round of this year’s Masters tournament. It’s where he lost the lead.

This is the best golf series on youtube. I love Rick Shiels and what he does. Pete Finch, the Byran bros and Grant they are all good and all do good stuff.
But a PGA tour player on top of his game switching from being in contention at the masters one week to switching it up the next, trying to break course records on the courses we are accustomed to playing every week.

As a 3yr golf amateur I played this course frequently last year and my best score was 89. Always wondered how a pro would do based on the complexity of this course. @brysondechambeau makes me feel a bit better knowing it was a challenge even for a pro like you. Couldn't been closer to setting the record. Great video! Cheering for you in the coming PGA Championship. Let's go Bryson!

it is interesting seeing different pros play munis, and struggle a tad with the conditions of some crappy unkept terrain and terrible bunker sand. They are the best in the world, but it makes me wonder what us AM's would shoot with people tracking balls and flagging them, where we just lose them and a stroke in some rough because we try to keep pace of play with no spotters. Also playing on rough courses where sometimes fairways are like hardpan dirt. I typically score better on a more expensive, well kept, more difficult course, than and easier slope rating unkept muni. Regardless, I would never compete with these guys in any lifetime lol.

Thanks Bryson, your channel popped up about three weeks ago and since then I've been watching all of your videos and old videos and now I'm back into golf after 25 years because I have the itch again.
I don't even play golf but I saw this on trending and literally sat through it and watched the whole thing. Loved the quirks going back and forth, Martin was a gem, the jokes and the serious input for strategy was great!
I've played this course 30+ times. Loved watching you work your way around the course. I yelled at the screen don't do it a few times knowing what was in front of you. Nicely done sir! P.S. am I the only person that appreciated Marin's shorts? Do you boss! LMAO!

This is such a great series for both the viewer and (i think) Bryson. For us, we get to see what a pro would do on the courses weve played. We've all had that thought, "i wonder what a pro would do on this course". And for bryson, the way it adds that mental aspect and pressure on him to not only tie but BEAT the course record because of who he is, has to be meaningful mental practice.

Love this series as I have known a few of these courses around the DFW area. Can't wait to see what Bryson does on a few of the dogleg left holes where he can cut corners where my fade (or slice) kills me.

On an ever so slightly different subject. I would like to inform you that I'm 76 years old and I switched a couple of years ago to the Cobra series of same length irons. I do not have an official handicap, but I have taken off on average 7 strokes per round after the switch. I am Now Playing in the low 80s. And I never was a pro. So I've had some years of golf under my belt,and I was pretty good when I was younger. But for my age, I'm pretty proud of how I now score, having switched to the same length.
I now believe in my heart of hearts that today's parents of young children should start them off with same length irons, and let them grow up with them. And secondly, I also think as we age and have been playing our lives with normal length clubs, by switching, it will increase you're score dramatically! There's something special about having the identical golf swing throughout your bag, from 4 iron to the pitching wedge.

I'm gonna be honest Bryson. When your spat with Jon Rahm first started I was on his side. You didn't have the best approach to reporters at that time. But as we were similar in age I realized that I was dumber and more immature as a person the same age as well. As time goes on its more and more obvious that you are amazing, "driver" lol, of this sport. Keep doing you Bryson! You are a phenomenal ambassador for this sport. We need more of your content. I truly believe you are going to be written in history for your contributions to improving this game. Honestly you will be the greatest challenger to this sport in history. I haven't been fitted officially yet, as I'm a broke man, but I think your innovations, bigger grips, same length irons have the chance to change the game as much as tigers power and swing changed the game in his time. Edit to say id love to see you play Pelican Lakes or Raindance in Windsor Colorado. Pelican is like 7300 yards and has an unbelievable amount of water on the course, like 40% of the course is lined by lakes and rivers or one side of the hole. When i was in school it was the most waterlined course in north America. Raindance is like 8,475 yards from the tips. I think its hole 13 or 14 is a 750+ yard par 5. Granted its Colorado so I bet that par 5 would be like a 6-7 iron in at 250ish yards for you as a second shot lol
