I just brought mine, I have owned a Tarpon 140 for 17 yrs I have always love the handling and comfort. But I have to admit this 120 give me the same joy and feeling but even more comfort and maneuverability, I specially like the dryer box right in front of me, now I have a place for camera or cell phone, the covered rear storage is going to come in very useful, I get on and off in deep water for snorkeling and just cooling off, a few time I have tossed things over. This and the dry box will keep that from happening. And the 2 foot shorter, aloe my to storage it in my apt 👍🏼👍🏼 it’s a 10 guys 😊
Love my tarpon 105.. the magnetic bottle holder is AWESOME!!!!, this is my first kayak. Awesome solid sturdy well balanced and glides in the water beautifully.
I have the tarpon 100 and I’m disappointed with a few things on the 105. Looking at the specs the 105 is actually 1.5 inches wider then the 100 and has the same max capacity. The removal of the centre hatch that when into the hall, I like the square front hatch but not sure if the bin is removable to get into hall if more storage is needed. Also I would miss the side paddle keepers and rear tracks. It’s also missing the deck loops to secure the seat when transporting. I do like the removal of the centre channel and I like the rigid handles. Was really wanting an upgrade but looks like I’ll be keeping my tarpon 100.
Because the Tarpon is not mainly a fishing yak. Yes, it certainly can be used for one, but screwing with the hull design compromises the excellent speed and gliding ability of the Tarpon.
I have the previous generation T120 and I have to say, this new one has nothing that would make me want to trade up. You have removed the center hatch forward of the seat. Big mistake. This is where all stuff gets stored that I need access to.Which is not going to fit in that little dry box. Including the ability to get rods in the hull and to have extra storage for overnight trips. The hatch is the best way to mount an in-hull transducer as well. Look at the OK Trident for how to really make a center console storage. Also.. the colors suck. I hate that cheap roto-mold color blend. It makes the boat look like something from Walmart. I know these comments are best directed at WS themselves. Also.... Get a proof reader... The opening sentence should be "synonymous WITH".... not "synonymous of".
Not only does she not know how long, but the mic is absolutely screwed up during the demo. I just recently got the 2018 model and did not help at all to understand this version.

curious - speed wise how does the A.T.A.K 140 compare to the Tarpon 100 or 120? Is it much slower than either of the Tarpons?
I had the tarpon 100 and now the 140
100 is slower but lighter to move about like putting on roof rack the 140 tracks well but is heavy.
