Yeah their songs have depth in relation to the story to the current arc it was played. Like this one. Wings of freedom First is scout corps, they have freedom which eren wants. This song is perfect to show the development of Eren. The first theme fits his anger and goal to kill all titans. He's young, reckless and single minded. This song is more his opening up and growing as a soldier. Realising he cannot kill them on his own and that he needs his team.

Having never watched AOT, that intro bit there is soooo impressive. The way the tracks, voices, instruments, crowd ambience and the rumbling bass beneath it all blend in together to form this noisy but glorious and seemingly patriotic unity. In my mind, I can the see flowers being thrown into the air and the endless lines of uniformed men.

I've always loved this opening. And someone told me it was someone's theme song. I looked it up;here it is. I love this song more than ever. Due to the lyrics and it being the theme song of my favorite character. The lyrics make me feel have more confidence in myself. :3
I love how the middle of the song sounds so different and unique to the first part. We even hear a reference to Guren no Yumiya and start to feel nostalgic for a moment, and then all of a sudden at 4:30, it jumps all the way back to the first chorus with nothing but choral music and booming percussion. Gives me chills every time. It’s almost like it’s stopping for a moment to grieve fallen friends, then all of a sudden it gets up to fight for a new day. Oof. I’m emotional.
You know, after watching all the way through the current season and Part 1 of the finale, it really puts into perspective the entire series and how Eren came to the decision he did with the Rumbling. This song perfectly encapsulated the hope he was feeling for humanity at this point in time, but I feel that said hope was crushed after he finally left the walls. He has hope that humanity can be better, but he knows that there needs to be an event that brings everyone together so that they forget the hatred and bigotry that controlled them for the longest time.
3:42 to the end would make a great op for season 4 part 2. the lyrics fit and the sad, confused, hype and patriotic music works perfectly for this grand finale anime onlys are gonna see.

I actually love this opening. Its so precious. The part "We grip two steel blades of Gloria, sing the song of victory, and have the wings of freedom on our back" makes me cry, cuz like imagine if titans we're real and there would be the titan slayers, and they fight for humanity, they loose theyre lives to protect us. Its just sad. But this opening is absolutely bomb.

Ok, I have to say this. Attack on Titan was my 2nd dubbed annime (my first being Pokemon XYZ) and going in, I didn't have much high hopes for it. Sure, it was popular and a lot of people recommended it, but I've heard those arguments before (Naruto subbed, Big Bang Theory) so I had my skepticism. Still, I was bored so I gave it a try. I opened the first episode of SnK. The opening was cool, very emotional, but the second Guren no Yumiya came on, I was hooked. I knew all my misgivings were going to be wrong and that Shingeki no Kyogin would replace RWBY as my favourite anime (I consider RWBY part-anime, shut up) So after bingeing the first 10 episodes in the first day, I watched the last three of the first half of the season the next. On Reddit, someone told me to not be too disappointed with the second opening and it would take some getting used to. Curious, I checked out this video just to hear it. I can't see what's there to be disappointed about. This opening is AMAZING! It pumps you up just like the first one--perhaps even more--it sets you up for a climatic duel and adventure, the opening video is just...oh god. But my favourite part of it all is the bridge. All this time you hear pounding drums and fast music. Suddenly, the music slows, and you just hear a discordant sound from a lone trumpet (?). It's very calming and soothing, but leaves you wondering like WTH happened to the music? And then, you hear it. A small muffled voice at first, but slowly growing louder, and louder. "Kaserareta fujōri wa shingeki no kōshida Ubawareta sono chihei sekai o nozomu Eren" Let's face it guys, anyone who is a true SnK fan loves--ABSOLUTELY LOVES--Guren no Yumiya. Jiyuu no Tsubasa is awesome on its own, but Guren no Yumiya is like, iconic. There is no SnK without Guren no Yumiya. The fact Linked Horizon noticed this, and slipped in a portion of GnY into JnT was enough to send chills down my spine. It's like paying homage. Great song, great show, favourite anime.
Yeah! Someone else who has watched RWBY! Don't worry, I think of it as part-anime as well. After watching AoT, I then watched Tokyo Ghoul, and then Code Geass. After that I watched RWBY, and the animation took a while to get used to. I finished it on Netflix (because it has all the episodes in one), and then started watching things like Full Metal Alchemist and Blue Exorcist, things like that. (i can't remember the names very well, because I haven't watched them in a while, but I hope I spelt it right)

Why so many people dislike this version? It's freaking amazing! The lyrics are really powerful. I loved that Gurem no Yumiya part. 3:50 was beautiful. It kinda represents the sorrow when soldiers die, then goes back to victorious as if saying "It's not over. We're still fighting back." And it ends the same way it starts.
I agree with this sentiment on so many levels...especially the first 20 seconds, I would do anything to push humanity forward and risk it all for the sake of our freedom.
OK, so I'm just gonna say this. My own personal judgement In terms of 1 min openings, Guren no Yumiya is still better. The opening animations was slightly better than Jiyuu no Tsubasa. In terms of full song, Jiyuu no Tsubasa by a long shot.

I love how the middle of the song sounds so different and unique to the first part. We even hear a reference to Guren no Yumiya and start to feel nostalgic for a moment, and then all of a sudden at 4:30, it jumps all the way back to the first chorus with nothing but choral music and booming percussion.
Gives me chills every time. It’s almost like it’s stopping for a moment to grieve fallen friends, then all of a sudden it gets up to fight for a new day.

You know, after watching all the way through the current season and Part 1 of the finale, it really puts into perspective the entire series and how Eren came to the decision he did with the Rumbling. This song perfectly encapsulated the hope he was feeling for humanity at this point in time, but I feel that said hope was crushed after he finally left the walls. He has hope that humanity can be better, but he knows that there needs to be an event that brings everyone together so that they forget the hatred and bigotry that controlled them for the longest time.
I always get chills when I listen to this, it’s so inspirational but underrated. It’s amazing how much power a song can carry.

I actually love this opening. Its so precious. The part "We grip two steel blades of Gloria, sing the song of victory, and have the wings of freedom on our back" makes me cry, cuz like imagine if titans we're real and there would be the titan slayers, and they fight for humanity, they loose theyre lives to protect us. Its just sad. But this opening is absolutely bomb.

Ok, I have to say this.
Attack on Titan was my 2nd dubbed annime (my first being Pokemon XYZ) and going in, I didn't have much high hopes for it. Sure, it was popular and a lot of people recommended it, but I've heard those arguments before (Naruto subbed, Big Bang Theory) so I had my skepticism.
Still, I was bored so I gave it a try. I opened the first episode of SnK. The opening was cool, very emotional, but the second Guren no Yumiya came on, I was hooked. I knew all my misgivings were going to be wrong and that Shingeki no Kyogin would replace RWBY as my favourite anime (I consider RWBY part-anime, shut up)
So after bingeing the first 10 episodes in the first day, I watched the last three of the first half of the season the next. On Reddit, someone told me to not be too disappointed with the second opening and it would take some getting used to. Curious, I checked out this video just to hear it.
I can't see what's there to be disappointed about. This opening is AMAZING! It pumps you up just like the first one--perhaps even more--it sets you up for a climatic duel and adventure, the opening video is just...oh god.
But my favourite part of it all is the bridge. All this time you hear pounding drums and fast music. Suddenly, the music slows, and you just hear a discordant sound from a lone trumpet (?). It's very calming and soothing, but leaves you wondering like WTH happened to the music?
And then, you hear it. A small muffled voice at first, but slowly growing louder, and louder.
"Kaserareta fujōri wa shingeki no kōshida
Ubawareta sono chihei sekai o nozomu Eren"
Let's face it guys, anyone who is a true SnK fan loves--ABSOLUTELY LOVES--Guren no Yumiya. Jiyuu no Tsubasa is awesome on its own, but Guren no Yumiya is like, iconic. There is no SnK without Guren no Yumiya. The fact Linked Horizon noticed this, and slipped in a portion of GnY into JnT was enough to send chills down my spine. It's like paying homage.

Yeah! Someone else who has watched RWBY! Don't worry, I think of it as part-anime as well. After watching AoT, I then watched Tokyo Ghoul, and then Code Geass. After that I watched RWBY, and the animation took a while to get used to. I finished it on Netflix (because it has all the episodes in one), and then started watching things like Full Metal Alchemist and Blue Exorcist, things like that. (i can't remember the names very well, because I haven't watched them in a while, but I hope I spelt it right)

3:50 was beautiful. It kinda represents the sorrow when soldiers die, then goes back to victorious as if saying "It's not over. We're still fighting back." And it ends the same way it starts.

OK, so I'm just gonna say this. My own personal judgement
In terms of 1 min openings, Guren no Yumiya is still better. The opening animations was slightly better than Jiyuu no Tsubasa.
In terms of full song, Jiyuu no Tsubasa by a long shot.
