I'm sure I have ALS sadly. I've been told I don't because my EMG was normal, on Feb 14, 2024. I have so many first stage symptoms. I've read so many people's experience with ALS and its not uncommon for EMG to be normal early in the progression. Something needs to be done for the diagnosis process. My dad died from ALS, they think I'm just worried about ALS for that reason. I was told to come back to the Neurologist (Dr.Zinman) when I am so weak I can't stand from a chair with only my legs. I pray its something else but I keep getting worse. Thank you for your research.

They are trying to find biomarkers now. Once they get a good biomarker and any drug with efficacy, the regulatory agencies can use those as key indicators and accelerate discovery. As for you, I would take precautionary measures as far as diet and/other brain/nerve healthy approaches in the interim. Also, may want to link with a top neurology program at a university that does research so that you are in the database for earlier trials and possibly get genectic testing.
