Thank you SO much for finally posting this! It feels like forever! These are the best content detailing such history. I was happier receiving this update than just about any other on RUclips! I'm hoping the breaks between releases will no longer be so painfully extended.
Haha I appreciate you, yeah the next video wont take as long. But I really want to take my time with the Aurelian vdieo since he is such a legendary figure and one of my own favorite emeprors
Another lovely video. I am glad my notes were helpful. I must agree that, although somewhat competent, it is difficult to really credit Claudius II with much more as an emperor. It is also noteworthy that Claudius II promoted his lineage as being descended from Gordian III. Aurelian would likewise try and connect himself to Valerian and Trajan so it is unsurprising that Constantine I would do the same thing. Good luck to John, farewell Alexander.
Good to hear you're back. Claudius II continued where Gallienus left off but died before he could finish it. However 3rd time is the charm and Aurelian definitely showed his merit.
I would be interested in you going into a discussion of how you constructed this timeline, as it is very detailed and orderly, and my impression was that the records of the area made constructing an exact chronology difficult.
He is and he isn't. He could've become another Gallienus or Aurelian but never got the chance before he died. He was capable snd experienced general, who seems to have been well-liked by the soldiers and officers alike.
Well that was a short video after such a long wait and yes I understand he was only in power for less then 2 yrs. Very informative, can’t wait for Aurelian. Welcome back
A couple of reasons: Alexander, the narrator was unable to continue, so I had to find a new one. But the main reason is that I got a new job back in January thats been taking more and more of my time, I need to find a good work/family/youtube balance in my life.
Great video but bittersweet as I am very bummed that Alex is leaving the channel. He's one of my all-time top favorite narrators and will be great missed. This is not meant as a slight to the new narrator but you'll have some very big shoes to fill.
You're back! Awesome! The thumbnail is distinguished 👌 I have a question: Will you continue with the Eastern Roman Empire emperors after finishing with Western emperors? Because I think you should

Hm... This was the first video to combine the reigns of two not-co-emperors. That's fine, but I wish that Quintillus's name would also be mentioned in the video's title. Also, from now on the numbering goes wrong, since Quintillus has been excluded.
Unfortunately the current narrator ran into conflict of interest with his employer and was unable to continue working with me. I dont want to change but at this time I have no choice...
There is numismatic evidence of the presence of Claudius II in Thrace and celebrating his victory against the Goths in 269 AD. This numismatic evidence was minted in the Cyzicus mint.
He left as he had conflict of interest with his employer, I think he signed a noncompete. He would be more then welcome if ge decides to comeback, the door is open
Where is the battle that earned Claudius II his Gothic title? According to Zosimus the Goths besieged Thessalonica, but on the map we do not see that Thessalonica is besieged.

we have to wait for 6 months maybe😂😂
He might have to do Claudius' brother first

Claudius and Aurelian were part of the plot against Gallienus. Shame on them. Good they did not live much longer either.
Finally hearing a familiar voice doing the narration of a great documentary.
(Btw Gallienus was underrated and a chad 🗿)
Aurelian hey we come, we who are about to watch salute you!

Nice to see the series return. Claudius II is pretty underrated.

He never had the chance.

There is numismatic evidence which establishes that Thessalonica was rescued during the reign of Claudius the Gothic.
