I feel like this character's story is essentially a take on "the child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" taken to its literal extreme.
Woah this is so cool! Even without knowing the character names, the music being in the background to accompany but not what the characters say, you still give a brilliant picture of what went down. A lot happens, that I somewhat understand. But this is genuinely so cool and you have my investment in these OCs/pos/pos Thanks for making this

Those crowns in the beginning look similar to the ones worn by the king/queen of Katolis from The Dragon Prince. Did that show inspire those? Because if so, that's so cool because I finally found a youtuber that also enjoys Dragon Prince! If not, still cool!
Ahhh thank you :D Yeah his name is Lazlo. I really wish I could say that he is a protagonist with a villain arc but the last part of this animatic doesn’t technically ever happen. It’s just something he thinks of doing, but never does. It just fit with the song. Though he is one of like six main characters in a webtoon I’m developing. Sorry if that’s disappointing haha
Ok this is what I gathered His dad was the king and died in a war He left his mom to go adventureing When he comes back he finds that there is a new unjust ruler on the throne. He joins a rebel group against the new king who has the throne unfairly He feels like an outcast in the group because 1 everyone else had it worse and 2 nobody really talked to him or became his friend They finally face the king and he used his powers and scared everyone in his group His went to a tavern to relax and guards came in to take him to jail his powers get out of control trying to escape and end up trapping him in wood Only one person came to save him and was forced to leave by a guard He was imprisoned and had to escape by himself and saw that the same person who went to save him tried to brake him out He recovered and found the girl at a tavern and they got into a fight about him being reckless He left and was crowned the rightful ruler of his kingdom Then his sister (or mother) finds out and takes the crown from him. He’s tired of everything that’s happened to him, the abandonment, being an outcast even amount outcasts, and he decides to burn down his kingdom. Ps: I really like the imagery of everything being dark shades of grey except his fire.
How long did this take to write ( also, I never really understood what was happening and my mind stopped trying to so thanks for helping me understand this )
This is so cool! I love the OC and the story into becoming a villain. I loved how there was an explanation towards his (is it a he?) actions. I would definitely read this or watch this more. So good!
@@nothernstorm5138 this animatic was only a small part of a larger story so the easiest way I can explain this video is a prince joins a group of travellers while they try and defeat an ancient mage. I’m planning on making a webtoon with these characters and will be doing more videos about them. It’s hard to explain without spoiling it or making this comment too long

WOW. Just, WOW. I don't even know who these characters are, but I feel invested in your story. Your cinematography (is that the right word for it?) is so good. Ii has an amazing balance of visual cues that fit perfectly with the sounds. It's something that I've seen since your first animatic, and it only got even better!
As someone who writes a lot and can't draw I always find myself envying artists ability to express character emotion. You've got a talent for it, I've never been so invested in an animatic.
If you really want to learn how to draw, I encourage you to go for it! It takes a lot of work, but you’ve already got the creative spark. There’s a lot of really good tutorial stuff on RUclips, just make sure to watch from many different people so you can earn *maximum knowledge* lol
Expressions are always simpler than you might think. Smiles are happy, Frowns are negative, Combine a frowning smiley face and you get a extreme shade of emotions that can be anything from denial to...well...anything.
I have to say. You did a wonderful work syncing everything with the music. I like the colors you choose and how things develop along with the music. You did a great hard work. Most people imagine things with music in the background while you decided to make it visual for others to appreciate too! I hope to see how you progress as an animator or storyboard artist
I love this song so much! I love it even more when it's applied to a hero(?) to villain arc. Especially since it appears as though the main OC this about turns villain out of a combination of unfortunate events and negligence from his companions. Like he got put in prison and he had to break himself out. Then I'm pretty sure they replace him or something along those lines. Then he gets crowned (I think his father was a king of dubious morals, maybe an old antagonist of sorts, just by the way he was framed in the animatic). I would love to read something and see more content for this, but I think I already have a favorite character both for design and story! Edit: I wanted to add more takeaways from this song choice, lol. I think that his dad, or ancestor, was an antagonist, so he was the root of a lot of the other protag's suffering. They probably had more bad things happen, like physical things. I think this song fits the main OC (you said the name was Lazlo) had more psychological torments. Those are a lot easier to push under the rug than things like 'this evil king burned my house down and slaughtered my family.' So that could be why Lazlo feels as though his struggles aren't valid, because he's surrounded by characters who have more blatant trauma, while he probably feels his problems 'do not count' because those things never happened to him. SO he's more likely to feel outcasted because of his lineage and he probably didn't have the best family life, but Lazlo probably thinks his problems are miniscule compared to others, even though he clearly has some abandonment issues. Sorry for the rant pt. 2: the electric boogaloo. I love OC animatics when they are comprehensible and relatively clean. It makes me want more content, like some form of novel or webtoon.
I can’t believe how much you were able to gather from this! Most of what you’ve said is pretty spot on. Though I do feel like I have to say that technically the very last part of this animatic never really happens, it’s just something he thinks about doing, but never follows through with it. I just decided to to animate it cuz I thought it fit the song better :D
@@mitchellmorrow3653 the easiest way I can explain it is, a group of travellers all meet each other and set off to defeat this big villain. They travel across the country, eventually two of them ending up in prison. The main guy in this, Lazlo, has to return home after hearing it was attacked. Technically the whole end bit of this animatic doesn’t actually happen in the actual story, it just fit with the song. Idk if that makes things clearer or not
I love this so so much?!!? The way he burns the whole kingdom down, the descent into it all. Just *chefs kiss* you did an amazing job! And all characters feel so distinct and their design are so interesting
Not so much in reference to the character himself, but I LOVE how you animate his fire power, less like his hand is on fire and he simply uses its power, and more like a true weapon, an extension of himself, like an ever changing chain of carnage and heat that he drags alongside him, it's truly beautiful
This is quite close to how I imagined the feeling this song gave me. The feeling of being emotionally and mentally in pain and wanting to share how you feel to someone else and that if you can’t while trying to find something that’s helps and make you feel better you end up hurting others in the process “If I do not find somebody soon, I blow up to Smithereens and spew my tiny symphony, all up and down this city street, while trying to put at my mind at ease” I don’t know if this makes sense but it what happens in my mind when I hear this song

I’m just wondering, because this is how I see it, he was born into a line of Royalty but did something to where he made a lot of enemies. He was trapped in a Cave while his worst enemy took control of his friend group, then, in a rage of sadness and anger, he burned down his whole Kingdom, and the person who also wanted the Crown.
God, I don’t even know where to start. With the beautiful designs and a really intriguing story, that just draws you in and gets you invested immediately? Or with how well this is made? This whole animatic is so good.

I can’t believe how much you were able to gather from this! Most of what you’ve said is pretty spot on. Though I do feel like I have to say that technically the very last part of this animatic never really happens, it’s just something he thinks about doing, but never follows through with it. I just decided to to animate it cuz I thought it fit the song better :D

@@mitchellmorrow3653 the easiest way I can explain it is, a group of travellers all meet each other and set off to defeat this big villain. They travel across the country, eventually two of them ending up in prison. The main guy in this, Lazlo, has to return home after hearing it was attacked. Technically the whole end bit of this animatic doesn’t actually happen in the actual story, it just fit with the song. Idk if that makes things clearer or not

Your storytelling is insane and I really mean it this is insane, it's hard doing shit like this
Not so much in reference to the character himself, but I LOVE how you animate his fire power, less like his hand is on fire and he simply uses its power, and more like a true weapon, an extension of himself, like an ever changing chain of carnage and heat that he drags alongside him, it's truly beautiful
This is quite close to how I imagined the feeling this song gave me.
The feeling of being emotionally and mentally in pain and wanting to share how you feel to someone else and that if you can’t while trying to find something that’s helps and make you feel better you end up hurting others in the process

The fact that I found this from a playlist that RUclips made is amazing
I’m just wondering, because this is how I see it, he was born into a line of Royalty but did something to where he made a lot of enemies. He was trapped in a Cave while his worst enemy took control of his friend group, then, in a rage of sadness and anger, he burned down his whole Kingdom, and the person who also wanted the Crown.
