I hope they do end up together. In my honest opinion I think they are soulmates, they are each other’s person you know. Hope they eventually realise that and not let a connection like that go without really trying.

So right out the gate she’s lying talking about taking time to heal because Zay told us in the reunion that they reunited right after the show ended and that’s why her and Jake didn’t take the plane trip..I like Rae but she struggles with being honest.

The finale was in November 2021. 5 months ago. This interview was days ago. She says she’s ‘currently’ single. Jake lived with April for a month after the show, and Rae tried with Zay. No mystery there.

I don’t get the hate for Jake, he finally realized that he was being pushed to do things he didn’t want to do and ended the relationship. Like april said, better she found out now then having to divorce him 5 years later. He knew it and didn’t want it to drag on for another two years
But he had an engagement planned
- He had an engagement plan, but tried to run off with Rae (though he told April he wouldn’t).
- He said his mom loved Rae, but that wasn’t true.
- He blames April for everything wrong in the relationship, and he acts like he is blameless.
- He continues to talk negatively about April like a bitter ex.
Right people need to remember that in a relationship it’s not just the one person that gets their feelings hurts. It’s 2 people and they have to figure out what they want to do with their own INDIVIDUAL life

@@DivaDen I think she’s just the type that opens up to people she feels safe with. For whatever reason she didn’t feel safe doing so with Zay. Jake on the show came off as warm, sincere and non-judge mental upon meeting her. He’s got a very calm and quiet demeanor and seemed to create a safe and open space for her to share things of herself. It just takes the right person

Jake was saying he wanted to try work on his relationship with April. At the finale, I thought okay she's given him the ultimatum again, if he's still not ready fair enough. But he said he wasn't going to run off with April, but he obviously tried.
With Rae and Zay, while Zay is one of those people who starts talking over the other person during arguments, which really annoys me. As soon as Rae got back with Zay you could see her pushing him and having zero interest with him. When he was sat with her mum and friend crying, she just critised him being over dramatic while her friend stroked his arm, obviously feeling so sorry for him and seeing Rae was being with him. She was looking for a reason to end that relationship and I think was happy once she had a reason. While staying out till 8am without contacting her was bad, I can imagine being in his head space, and just wanting to run away for a night, when she said she didn't want to get engaged to him after he said he was ready, then shutting down and running off saying she felt unwell. She also said her and Jake didn't do anything, yet Zae found the box with feathers and eyelashes which suggests otherwise. And I also feel like why would you have twerking videos of her if your not banging? I think they definitely did something.
I think these two would maybe work down the road, for a little while, but that's it at most.

When people come out of a long term relationship. They need to give their self time to heal. I think Rae and Jake will always be friends or maybe one day in a relationship. There is a connection and they need to explore that. Zay need to get a mental health check. He had a lot of issue. He doesn’t know how to deal with things. He reads into things more than they actually are. He need to find parents and work that situation out. April is too clingy and Jake just needs some time to grow up.
Just in case you didn’t pick up on syntax clues, Zay’s parents are either homeless somewhere or dead. I have family members like that and you don’t just “find them”. They pop up when they want something and then disappear for years/months.
Please let Rae & Jake live they true life. I realized people like to see when people live & act fake lives, ease off of their case. love people for who they are and they is.

I think rae went a little nuts at the end
Rae's makeup was horrible and distracting the entire show. Dark forehead with the rest of her face being super light, blah! Jake was annoying and using any excuse to fight with April. She deserved better.
Zay needs to deal with his abandonment issues and get his head and emotions straight. When he gets into a difficult situation he always defaults to that excuse. No doubt its a huge traumatic weight on his shoulders and as a young person he needs to be able to move from that. Without confronting that demon his relationships are going to be impacted negatively.
Finally someone saw this everyone was totally ignoring his major red flags
Your traumas are a part of who you are. I never saw it as him using it as an excuse but as a sign of strength and self-awareness. He was genuine, showed his vulnerability and emotions and was more than willing to change and grow for the better. Just because a man is vulnerable doesn’t mean we should suppress it. Rae on the other hand, apparently grew up as a spoiled only child without trauma and look at how she deals with the world. She doesn’t even know what she wants & strings people along.
@@Bea_22 I actually work with young people who have experienced trauma at some point in their young lives. It manifests in very different ways, some are very violent, some self harm etc. Zay's trauma manifests differently, obviously he is not violent. The idea is to treat trauma to ensure that the person heals from it does not become part of their character. Would you like to have someone in your life who is violent, self-harms, is difficult to deal with because every day they are dealing with their trauma? I dont think so. Trauma is a wound. It's not a desirable thing to have at all. I am shocked that you think it should be a person's character, no it should never be, its like saying a person should live with a treatable disease. Thats phucked up. Zayed needs to treatment for his trauma so that he can heal for himself first and for others second. It's not a badge of honour to suffer from trauma. For example, would you be happy to walk around with syphilis? It's treatable isn't it? Trauma is treatable.
@@futumukafulangenge9863 If you do actually work with people with psychological trauma you should be the #1 person to know it takes years and years of therapy. You are making it sound like it should go away with a snap of a finger. "get his head and emotions straight" " move on", or comparing it to an infectious disease that you can eradicate with a course of antibiotics. I don't think those are the the words of a professional who practices trauma-informed care, no offense to you. I agree with you that he needs treatment - I am not debating that. I just disagree with how you're saying he is using his trauma as an excuse when he is opening up about his trauma. Or how you're stigmatizing him "he needs to just deal with it or else he's doomed" just because he has trauma. And I do disagree big-time about this: a person who has overcome trauma SHOULD wear it as a badge of honor - that's why they are called survivors ;)

She is such a nice lady. A gentle soul. I think he just needs time to work out what he wants. Oh, and I was cheering for her when she told her ex he was twisting her words and blaming her. She stood up for herself. I saw that early on. He needs to get ahold of that and work on it if he is ever going to have a lasting relationship with anybody.

It's so crazy how people can interpret others so differently. While I don't think she's a bad person Rae had a hard time talking about anything below the surface level. She never knew what she actually wanted and if she did she was honest or open about it. That can be extreme frustrating for a partner. Zay wasn't perfect but knew he loved rae and wanted to work to become better.

Throughout the show he has displayed moments where when he feels as though he is not being heard he turns into another person. He just needs to check it for himself. Rae realize what companionship is, she had to come to that understanding and know that Zaye was not a happy fix for her, she settled. Both have things to learn.
