イーノさん、始めまして 🙏🏻 Next year I will be working in a freight forwarding company, I have no prior experiences nor am I familiar with this industry. Currently I'm learning about logistics from books borrowed from the company and your channel. Actually I'm also learning Japanese, so I found your channel to be really helpful 🙏🏻
So my question is, i bought something from China and it being shipped via Ex-works to Miami USA, so i will need to contact DHL, UPS or a company like FedEX to make clearance and make finaly delivery? Does Ex-work delivery gets held at a customs warehouse?
I understand, that "Ex-works" describes "a way of handling" the process. However, ex-works has a price, so my understanding must be wrong. What does the price of ex-works mean? What services from the seller does it include?
As for the price in EXW, Consignee has to take all. Pick up(transportation) from the shipper Export customs clearance Export side port charges Ocean freight Import side port charges Import customs clearance Delivery(transportation) to Consignee
@@logisticsyoutuberiinosan2358 But if Ex-works describe, that the consignee is responsible, why would there be a price on it? E.g. wouldn't the consignee be in charge to find a freight company and decide the price?
Yes. if EXW, Cnee is responsible for all about logistics. Shipper cannot put the price/profit on anything about logistics. Cnee can find and arrange the forwarder and export side shipping company as well and can decide the price. I explained like this on the video.
@@logisticsyoutuberiinosan2358 Thank you for the clearification. So if the sender puts a price on ex-works, it's probably just a "suggestion" on much all those things are probably going to be.

it depends on the cargo. but most of the case, courier service such as DHL, UPS, Fedex will support customs clearance for you.
@@logisticsyoutuberiinosan2358 so does this mean if I use these carriers I’m protecting myself under the EXW terms?
