A lot of other anime will have the characters continue to talk throughout the whole fight despite knowing it’s not going anywhere. In the same light, the more mob learns about other people and himself, the better he understands when to talk and when not to.
Just seeing dimple for the first time after exorcizing him was enough for him to go from 0-20% so it does make sense that he chills out a bit upon his disappearance lmao

They refused to do even that much. Big red flag, and honestly I hope more VA’s boycott Crunchyroll. As far as I’m concerned, companies that refuse to even consider hiring union workers don’t actually give two 💩s about their employees. If they aren’t planning on exploiting their workers, a union shouldn’t be a problem.

Kyle McCarley absolutely nailed this role. Out of all the characters he’s done, from 9S (nier automata) to Narancia (JoJo’s bizarre adventure), I think his work as Mob is probably my favourite. He just absolutely nails everything about this character, from his bluntness, to his awkwardness, to his emotional breaks, to his sweetness, it’s just so indescribably perfect
this is so bittersweet considering that Mob’s english VA was (effectively) fired by Crunchyroll. i wish his new VA the best but it’s gonna be hard beating Kyle McCarley’s delivery

I never watched the dub so seeing him be unhinged and using his powers and then dropped the most impulsive and insane lines was actually so shocking 😭 "HEY NOBODY SAID YOU COULD PASS OUT! TALK TO ME! damn it.." made me laugh
The Mob psycho dub needs more praise, cuz it's like really good. All the main characters are casted perfectly, and the performance is delivered very well for both serious and gag moments. I think it's cuz the characters are basically satire versions of real types of people, so the voices can basically just be a regular voice with a little bit of oomph to them. Very similar to the Saiki K dub. I think this helps avoid the biggest problem with most anime dubs, and that's it's hard to find a balance between sounding like a reguler boring person talking, and a super wacky extreme voice you'd hear in a Sunny-D commercial.
Ngl I was probably the same exact way when I was in middle school. Mob is like the ultimate relatable character, 50/10 Protag. It’s illegal not to love and cheer for him.
