  • This video illustrates how to use the new Haas NexGen control to perform the "All in One" Probe Calibration. The software version of your machine may include this process, or may include the original processes to perform this calibration as 3 separate steps.

    Hello
    I have a probe and a haas machine, but I don’t know what I need to do first to begin with this

      Hi Radrigo. I would first visit www.haascnc.com, and look at their video series on probing. There are many different probing routines that you can practice with, after having watched some of the videos. The most important thing in probing, is to understand the position that the probe should be moved to before starting each cycle, and understanding what moves the probe will be making to teach the required work offsets. Once you have a few cycles under your belt, you will love it!!

    I don't have tabs on my edit mode ie. VPS mode, and all the other videos show that as well, maybe I have older software? (I know this video is old, but you never know)

      Hello. If you do not have VPS menus, either your NGC machine VPS option is not turned on (Go to Diagnostics / Parameters Tab / Features Sub-Tab, and make sure that VPS editing is turned on), or you have a Classic Haas Control. You can get to the "VQC" Tab from MDI mode, to accomplish the same calibration routines (although you will have to do each calibration as 3 separate steps, rather than the "all in one" method. Thank you.

    Hello I have a question. I how can I use the probe to check a hole diameter?

    • @Darren_HFO_Champions
      @Darren_HFO_Champions 6 лет назад

      Hi Frank. Use the "Probe Bore" routine to check a bore. If you do not want to update a work offset, you can remove the "S54., for example" from the G-Code that is created for the probe. After probing a bore, you will want to go to the Macro Variables Page, and look for Variable #188 (for Classic Controls), or #10188 (for NGC controls). This value will be the "previous probed diameter". Have your local HFO get you a copy of the Renishaw Operator's manual for Haas controls. Mid-ways through the manual is a chart of macro variables, showing you where measurement data is captured. Thank you for the inquiry.

    What should I do when I loose the information from the Spindle pro, it say that invalider pocket. Please can you help

    • @ChampionsCNC

      Hi Javier. If your machine has the "older" 3-step calibration process, I would simply call your probe back up (you can TC to it by pocket number, if you do not know the tool number). I would then decide which tool number you'd like the probe to be (some people say Tool number 1, while others may say Tool number 24). Load the probe into the spindle, and then run the 2nd step of calibration, which is to set the spindle probe length off of the tool setter. If you have a new Haas machine, you may be best running the "all in one" calibration as in the video. I hope this helps, and sorry for the delay.

    If you need to replace a renishaw probe, do you need to dial indicate that probe so it’s concentric, before using it against the tool set probe?

    • @Darren_HFO_Champions
      @Darren_HFO_Champions Год назад +1

      Hi Justin. Yes. There are (4) set-screws on the probe body (the lower ones), and (2) upper lock screws. You'll want to loosen the upper two very slightly, then use the (4) lowers to dial the ruby stylus to run true, then lock the two upper screws once again. The calibration cycle does compensate for ruby run-out, but you want to minimize the amount of compensation, as it will increase your probe accuracy. Thank you for watching!

    please help how can I Hide the tool where my probe information is?

    • @Darren_HFO_Champions

      Setting number 23 will allow you to hide your macro programs (9000 numbered programs) from the List Programs page. Sorry for the delayed response.
