Let them soak for about a week in vinegar. Just enough acid to eat away anything not mineral. I have 2 ore sample soaking as i write. ty for the reminder,need to go check on them.
Hello, you could put a metal paint mixer on your drill and gently agitate the water back and forth when it's in the bucket with warm water and soap. Just a thought I had while you were talking :).

you can get both super iron out and muratic acid at Canadian tire fairy cheap. I found the SIO works good for removing the green oxides from the nickel.
Around where I live, the best price on muriatic is at a swimming pool supply and TSC for Iron Out. I am sure there is somewhere better for Iron Out, but usually I am just happy to find it.
@@meMiner there is a company that sells almost everything with delivery to any part of the country!Here is their website! alphachem.ca/Chemical-List/ Such a treasure for those who look for chemistry for any kind of applications!And by the way they sold me recently damn 8 GALLONS of 70%HF instead of LITRES-so in fact I just don't even know what to do with such a huge quantity!And the most ridiculous thing is that they are sometimes selling several times different quantity of the same product but the small size is more expensive in TOTAL ..So,I got for example nitric acid 68% 0.5 litres for $75 Canadian-than asked about bulk and they sold me a gallon of the same 68% nitric acid for $73 Canadian!So just beware of such things-I currently am puzzled just how to pour some HF out of that barrel at least in smaller container but that weight makes me really damn scared-I just imagine what can THAT amount of THAT scary shit do to everything around it if somehow it will flip and drain itself on the back yard-especially if the flood will make it to the garage made of aluminium after running several metres over the concrete and gravel👻🤤☠☣ I guess I need to go to dollarama and buy some HDPE spoon-obviously the largest one-or just a handle for pans and just grab it that way to drain some of the Devil's kimchi😈 Dang it I even catch myself on the thought about assembling my own FOOF apparatus after receiving that package😈😈😈At least it seems like a way to use some of it's fluorine content😂☻

I mostly use a Minelab GPX5000. I have also used a Fisher Gold Bug SE and recently a Fisher F75. The GPX is heavy, but gets a bit better depth. The F75 has the best target ID. The Gold Bug is simple to use. They all work

???? Look youngin, you need a rock hammer, a mortar and pedestal, piece of platinum wire, an alchahol lamp, some flux and a blow pipe. Crush a chip to power, dip the platinum wire in the flux and dip it in the powder and hit it in the blow pipe flame. Color instantly tells you if it contains silver!!! That works everyday on every rock ;) Clean is irrelevant!
Look, they don't want you prospecting so they are not gonna teach you how! Find an old book on how to use a blowpipe. They old timers could walk up to a mouth of a creek, pick up one of each different kind of gravel and tell you in a few minutes every mineral of value up that entire watershed!!!! They didn't find all those mines by accident ;)

I have used wire brushes on rocks and quartz and they leave residue behind that make it hard to tell what I'm looking at

There are other channels who specialize in refining silver. I have only had mine melted into Dore bars. I have never tried refining,
What is something like that worth
One benchmark is the melt value of silver (spot price less cost to refine). Normally, on a good rock the collector value is higher.

Pink is an indication of oxidized cobalt (erythrite).

It depend upon what process you used and what minerals the ore was combined with. I have a video posted where a friend made some bars of dore for me.
