    Hi, does it matter in which direction the capacitor is soldered into the positive wire? I'm not sure wether it has polarity and would cause issues if soldered in backwards. Thanks.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  Год назад +5

      Bass blockers are not directional, so the orientation of the Bass Blockers on the positive and negative speaker leads is not important. Polarity is important; the white wire is positive and the black wire is negative.

    Do you happen to know if bass blockers could be installed for the door speakers on a 2003 GS430 with Mark Levinson/Navi?

      Bassblockers can be installed onto the woofers in the doors. Bass on the size of the woofer, we recommend this model bassblocker:

    I am installing a set of factory tweeters into a ford edge that do not have them from the factory. I have bought the crutchfield bass blockers. How close to the tweeter do the blockers need to be from the tweeter? Will the blockers block base from my speakers. I am planinning on tapping into the door speakers for sound to the tweeters.

    • @crutchfield

      They will install at the speaker locations. Just slide one of the Bass Blocker's connectors onto your Crutchfield speaker harness and the other Bass Blocker connector onto your speaker's positive terminal.

    I am running 2 cvr 12 kickers wired down to a 1 ohm, in a q bomb pro box, I just installed 6.5 c5 kicker door speakers all around. How do I block the bass from going to the door speakers and only into the subs itself, do I need the capacitor shown in the video on each positive side of the speaker? Will it take away from anything of the door speakers when installed?

    Hi, question, I am using Pioneer TS-H1703 composet speakers in the front and Pioneer TS-1356II (coaxial) speakers in the back, all powered by the default factory radio. Now I want to add a subwoofer. What bassblocker do you recommend, I guess I need one bassblocker per speaker? And final question, the speakers themselves already have inline capacitors for their tweeters, can bassblockers 'stack' with them? (without negative outcome)

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  2 года назад +4

      You will need one bass blocker per speaker. We sell them in pairs. We didn't carry those speaker models but based on what we found online about them, the TS-H1703 should use these:
      www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_007BB150/item.html
      and the TS-1356II match well to these bass blockers:

    Hi I am in UK just bought a new Rav4, I want to upgrade the dash speakers which I ordered JBL from the US, one side has dual speaker I understand one is for SOS. Is there any advice you could give on how to upgrade that speaker? I was thinking of removing the SOS speaker and moving it elsewhere, but not sure how to extend the cable. any advice would certainly help. I certainly will put in an inline capacitor as shown on your Video.

    • @crutchfield

      The 8-ohm Pyle PA-style horn speakers are not designed for connection to an aftermarket radio that prefers to drive 4-ohm speakers on each channel. They have a 500Hz to 5 kHz frequency response so a band-pass filter would be required, a Bass Blocker would not be a good choice.

    Hi
    The FRONT IN wires are white/white-black and grey/grey-white but who is left and who is right?
    The same for the REAR IN wires which are green/green-black and purple/purple-black but which is left and which is right?
    This is not stated in the documentation

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  2 года назад

      Which wires go to the actual Left/Right speakers should not be a necessary detail to install bass blockers. You should be using the same brand/model speaker for both the left and right audio channels in say the front of the vehicle. This means you would be using the same model bass blocker for both of the front channels (same for the rear channels too).

      There is a chance that a midrange driver needs more audio blocked than a bass blocker can do. If that is the case with yours or if the amp will exceed 50 watts RMS going to the midrange driver, then bass blockers will not work. Were you able to identify the brand and model of the midrange driver you are referencing here? Also, which amp will be used to power them?

      The Infinity Reference REF-3032cfx speakers should have come with two 270 microfarad capacitors that are enough to protect them it in any vehicle. We recommend installing them. If they are not available, then these blockers will also protect the Infinity speakers from playing frequencies they should not:

      With that power which Kenwood lists as 40 watts RMS per channel and the speakers, you may not need to block the bass. However, you can test any time you want. It appears that amp has a filter that can be used to block bass from the speakers. You don't need a bass blocker as the amp already has a way to block it based on information we found on it.
