10/25/2001 I was home from school with the flu and my mom bought me a copy of GTA3 then I heard this song for the first time that day…. Till this day I still jam to this
(Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Look at that, look at that (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Look at that Their eyes are staring They are comparing The difference between I and you Ears are listening Mouth keep on chattering Trying to find out what I and I know, oh yeah (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Look at that, look at that (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Then one day the fire get hot (the house start to burn) And the people were all in confusion Natty revealed a gift in his yard They never know his meanings was for survival (fi meet his rival) (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock) Take a little walk down on the gully bank (Fi go check brother Feeble) Him say, "Lord live upright Come let us share this small morsel" Let's give Jah thanks and praise For living another day For Rastafari knoweth all things And He shall lead the way, oh yeah (Some call it Waterhouse - Firehouse rock) Oh yeah, oh yeah (Some call it Firehouse - Waterhouse rock)
The groove in this tune is simply too much... Just drive up the bass and feel it. Sweet, timeless vocals too. Greensleeves must have made the best dubs in those golden years...
...remember buying this LP when it came out '81...& playing it to death...a timeless masterpiece!!!...was so much choice back then, every week something...Viceroys, Michael Prophet, Barry Brown, Bunny Wailer, Gregory..etc...not to mention 7" pre & 12" & Studio one....what happened???
Whenever I hear birds tweeting I don't think of the beauty of nature, I think of Firehouse Rock by the Wailing Souls. P.S. excuse me for showing off but I saw them twice in the noughties, once in the Brixton Hootenanny. Praise Brixton Hootenanny for hosting that beauty!
Fire house rock, so crewzy man... i havent heard this song for ages. If you like this song, listen to File for my machete from the stranded album, just as awesum!
Oh gosh ! Rolling waves of nostalgia ; of alluring lyrics, undulating and pulsating rythm , rolling me back to my yesteryears of "reggaemylites" Hey someone, was Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare involved with this....? Big up !
I hope life has been at least as kind to them and the other roots reggae artists from that era as their music has been to my ears and my mind over the years. Give thanks.
2022 pos pamdemia, estamos em uma crise global, mas essa música me fez lembrar de 2010 o ano que ouvi pela primeira vez em um dub do Scientist no gta 3
Will never stop immersing in this wonderful song (and album). Does everyone hear the cough right at the beginning, by the way? I love that authenticity!!
nah this wasnt the one in the game, all the tracks on K Jah radio station were dubs by Scientist and he made a dub version of this also called "Mummy's Shroud" that was the one in GTA 3, check it out
I have had a song in my head a long time that sounds very similar to this. I thought it was from eek a mouse, because it was on his pandora station. But it has the same melody as the hook, and it might be sampled. It's not just a dub song tho, its like different lyrics n shit too. I know this sounds farfetched but somone help me out.
One of the most beautiful reggae songs.
This music knows no boundaries. It feels good whoever you are, wherever you are. If you can feel it.
