Thank-you for a most enjoyable flight. I most certainly am thankful you shared it with us. Now... Here is the reason you sat in seat "K", and the reasoning is completely silly, but this is now what airlines are using. To keep people from being confused, most airlines have adopted a standardization for seat designation, for whether someone flies on a wide or narrow bodied aircraft. For a widest aircraft that has a 3-4-3 configuration such as an A380, the lettering sequence is: ABC-DEFG-HJK. Regardless of how wide an aircraft is, "A" will always be the port side window. "C" will always be the aisle seat closest to a window. "D" will always be the port aisle seat of a middle row. "G" will always be the starboard aisle seat of a middle row. "H" will always be the aisle seat closest to the starboard window. "K" will always be the starboard window seat. For example, in a 2-3-2 configuration, the seating map would look like: AC-DEG (or DFG)-HK. The seating map for your ATR, 2-2 looked like: AC-HK. The letters "I", "O", and "S" are omitted due to people confusing them with "1", "0" (zero), and "5". Many times row "13" is omitted because the number is bad luck in western culture. Is this the silliest thing you have ever had explained to you? I definitely think it is the silliest thing I have heard in a very long time. If someone is confused by not having seating charts arranged as I explained above, I do not understand how they are able to dress themselves. The notable exception to this silly rule is the US airline, Delta, who labels their seats sequentially, regardless of the number of seats there are in a row. Anyway, I am sorry for such a long comment, but I thought I would address why you sat in seat "K". Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed your video and your short tour through the Hualien airport. It was remarkably clean and appeared that the people of Hualien took a lot of pride in their airport. Hopefully, your next prop-jet flight will be during the daylight hours. I really enjoy viewing the landscape from lower altitudes. Thank-you again, and I am looking forward to viewing your next post!
I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. Especially loved the shots of the Taroko Gorge @ the beginning! One of the most memorable sights I've ever seen.
