- It's yet another new daily word game from the New York Times! This time we've got to find a collection of thematically-related words, plus their "spangram" that describes the theme. I don't know if I'll be solving this every day but I'm giving it a shot for now at least. We'll see how it goes. Let me know how you like it!

I also got stuck on the top left corner, with the ICED red herring and the new-to-me CIDER doughnut...
I never heard of a Cider doughnut either, so you are not alone. I also thought "hole" was a little cheesy.
Cider donuts are a staple up in New York. I want one right now haha
Cider donuts are also very popular in New England.
Hard one for me, we don't have doughnut outlets in Italy! You occasionally see them in supermarkets of frozen food shops, but no idea about the names.
The apple orchards where I live (midwestern United States) have delicious cider doughnuts. I especially like that they are not glazed, but rather have a coating of sugar. Some orchards sell them warm out of the oven, and they are mouthwatering. (I also had the same reaction to HOLE -- not an adjective like the others.)
The way you describe the Cider Doughnut, I need to try one!! 😋
Cider was the first word I found - no help at all. ☺️. I don't think we call them jelly, or powdered, doughnuts here either, but finding those words made me twig the theme. 🇬🇧. Really enjoy your videos every day.
The Apple House, about an hour west of DC in Virginia, has the BEST cider donuts
Oh it's such a shame that everyone else is missing out on the magical experience that is eating a cider doughnut, those things are heaven on earth
Agreed! I can and do scarf down two in a sitting, especially if they're still warm from the oven. Best treat ever.
I need some hints, and could understand the theme till I watched you 😅
I also got stuck on the last two in the upper left at the end!
This was reaffirming because I got hung up in the upper left as well.
I'd never heard of cider donuts either, they sound extremely New England
We have them in Wisconsin USA too. I would think many apple orchards offer them.
Coming from a state that specializes in oranges, I missed out.
Cider doughnuts are delicious!
Never heard of them so when i think i got cider cake and jelly as first words that meant nothing to me. AFAIK these dont exist in the UK.
Used a LOT of hints.

Difficult intro. Made sense only at the end for me.
