One of my favorite GEC knives--in my daily rotation since I got it. I actually was lucky enough to buy 3; two were gifted to my brother and a friend who like knives but are unsure about slip joints, so the locking mechanism was a great way to introduce them to high quality traditional knives.
This year's run of 83s were all such beautiful knives. Glad to see you were able to pick one up! I think the stag version was my favorite of these, but the jigged bone was a very close second.
Great collection. That lock back is the perfect size for most edc tasks and will look classy while doing them. I have yet to pick up a GEC but not from a lack of trying. I love that you use them and not just lock them away in a safe.
Absolutely beautiful, GEC really have class from design right through to the fit and finish. That would be one of my daily office carry knives, just lovely.
all three of the variations of the #83 lockback are remarkable in their own way. I have all three and for me the stag is the most hansome….the brown jig the prettiest…but the bocote wood tidioue version is the worker bee because of it’s non fingerprintee satin blade finish. If the gods of chance permit I would suggest in the future you try to add a #99 Wall Street to your collection. both the burnt orange bone and the american chestnut versions in the 2018 run occasionally pop up in that uber-usefull 440 stainless and are the larger cousins of the #83. that run included some american elk handled versions but they seem to be as rare as hen’s teeth on the secondary market. Cheers!
When you have a GEC collection with in your GEC collection; might make you a true lover of GEC pocket knives. You know they make fixed blades too. I think some are kitchen knives and others are hunting knives. Just something to think about that you don't see often. 🍀🥔🔪🤠✨🔎
Absolutely 💯 Stunning! 😍 A 'Bow-Tie' shield brother 😉 The jigging on all GEC's is exceptional - it really is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheers for sharing - one day...🙏 Atb Gus 👍

There are knifemakers who make tools, and there knife makers who make both tools and art. This is a piece of art, that happens to also be a tool!
This one was also my first GEC lock back. I really enjoy the light pull as well. It's been a keen little user for me. I'm a big fan of this one.
I agree that it is a beautiful knife and collection of blades. Happy you find such joy with them. Thanks partner for letting us see them...

Wow dont see how it could get any better than that lock back absolutely a classic...👍...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a family! That pattern is my favourite handle style. I like small lockbacks, I use my Brother 1509s a lot.

Thanks for sharing Paddy, I’m purchasing one of these from a friend tomorrow, very excited!
Stephen - that 83 is a fine knife. I also like the leather you used for a background, it's perfect for showing off the GEC.
I put a little leather lanyard through mine Paddy, and it looks grand (I got the Stag). That's a Bowtie shield btw.
Your Apaloosa Horsecut #73 rocks!
Absolutely beautiful, GEC really have class from design right through to the fit and finish. That would be one of my daily office carry knives, just lovely.
Marvellous GEC Paddy. Quality is ofcourse as all GEC's superb. very nice one.
I'm just a student who can't afford such wonderful knives, but they are such a joy to marvel at!
I too get excited like a child whenever I handle quality made knives of any kind...
That's a beautiful one Patty
I love lockback knives

I would love to get a #99 Wallsteet. I’m just never in the right place at the right time.
I love little lock-backs. My next series of videos will be on mine. I’ve a few. I carried a 3” (2” blade) lock-back as my everyday carry for years.
Nice GEC Paddy.... One day I'll purchase another GEC.... One day.

Lovely GECs
I consider GEC cutlery boutique knives. They aren't custom, but they are far, far better than most factory production knives.
Lovely collection there.
Absolutely 💯 Stunning! 😍
A 'Bow-Tie' shield brother 😉

Atb Gus 👍
I missed out on this run of gec’s ..keep your fingers crossed for me for the 86 acorn.
Love the long swedge on that blade, and the bone is beautiful.
Great video. A favorite of mine is the 2021 Remington knife made by GEC
love mine. its a fantastic EDC.
Great vid, congrats on the pickup. Regards Rosco
What a little stunner
I think brother knives pins their shields, not on all models. Idk I think I heard messerhq say one of their knives had a pinned shield.
That ones beautiful

Thats a beauty Paddy. Im a bit late for this 😅
I think this sort of clip is my favorite, a long cut Swedge with a long pull. The only clip I’ve ever seen that I like better is a Bose Lanny’s clip.

It looks like a bow tie shield to me.
I'm a suckered for a lockback 🔥🔥🔥
That's nice
Great looking GEC Paddy. Is that considered a bow tie shield? Lovely blade shaped & handles.
Looking at the shield, it doesn't look equal, one side larger than the other, so it's probably not a bow tie.
I found it. Orleans. That's what GEC calls it. Link in my other comment.
I have to get a gec. Where they made at?
I just looked them up they're made in Pennsylvania that might have to be a road trip
$300
Sweet 😎🐸👍.
Orleans shield, it's bigger at the top and smaller at the bottom like a fleur-de-lis. ⚜
Thanks Dougie 😊
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 You got it Paddy, keep the videos rolling in! I'm enjoying them.
GEC calls that shield "Orleans"
Bowtie shield
