- Head Hunting was very common in Nagaland, almost all the tribes hunted Head. Now this tradition no longer exist. I was very fortunate to meet some Head hunters in Tuensang. They were very friendly and shared thier old memories.

The Nagas had practiced Head hunting
When they followed Animism ,but after the Coming of Christianity they stopped this evil practice .During thoses days one village fight with another village with mutual agreement or One Village or group attacked other tribe .They Believed that if they stopped head hunting then Epidemics will befall upon them .Those placess where Christianity reached first had Stopped this evil practice Some Tribes had stopped Head hunting before 1900 and for some especially in the Eastern part of Nagaland Eastern Nagas they continue head hunting till 1970s.
It's very sad to see some people think that the Nagas still practice this and think Nagas are Savage
Don't be scared come to Nagaland now forget about head hunting ,even hunting has banned in almost every villages in Nagaland.
Thanks fr yr information .

@samyajyoti de haha I n some parts of India people still practice s Sati systems ,dowry ,Caste discrimination ,and very less sympathy towards their own people

Hi alfred. Do you know if there are local busses to Tuensang district? I have been to Kohima and around but the Naga identity has quite disappeared there...
Yes,both public transport as well as private taxis are available from kohima....but currently due to the pandemic I guess all transportation are suspended.
@@nzanthngullie3318 Oh that's great. Thanks!
It hasn't disappeared
Naga identity isnt just about going around wearing traditional clothes and headhunting
@@munchkin54 Who said Naga identity is just about going around wearing traditional clothes and headhunting??? I spend enough time with Adivasi all around India to know the topic quite well, so please keep your jugding comments for you.
@@StephanieEthnoTravelsAdivasis ?

Nice vlogs bro, From Gohpur
Thanks ✌️
Thanks for great video sir
So nice of you
Your naga language is very similiar to our Assamese language I am glad that I could understand every single word as I belong to assam
Yes because in during medieval time , the nagas and Ahoms trade each others so that the naga people need to learn Assamese to communicate with Ahoms and other Assamese people and then they became able to talk in little bit Assamese with their naga accent and in during in the british era this particular language becomes nagamese for the Naga people
Naga language is sounding similar like Bengali !? 🤔
It's a mixture of asamese ND bangali
Nagamese, Assamese & Bengalis language are similar.. To other side like Bodo, Tiprasa, Dimasa language are similar
Good efforts, nice culture of Nagaland
Yes, thanks
40-50 heads hunted??.
Can you imagine who were the enemies??
It must be his own brothers heads(Nagas)

@@mousumsonowal5983 hi bro if so thn i will try to visit beautiful state❤️❤️
Don't think he had hunted.... doesn't look like d headhunters tatto..very different
One positive correction please, there are many tribes in Nagaland,
not generally but particularly in Estern Nagaland when a man hunts a head,as a sign of bravery some make tattoo in their face, chest, shoulder etc.and the tattoo different from each other from tribe to tribe, region to region etc.
And some tribe doesn't Tattoo but instead pierce an ear,
Thank you..🤗
Different tribes have different tattoos -_- don't talk nonsense that Man ain't lying
Head hunters why?
Yokoonoji jaldi ...👍🏻
How they know Assamese language
We call it as Nagamese , a lingua Franca language which was said to be used as communications to our neighboring Ahom Raja kingdom..
Nice bro
