Ellie, please before you call a professional, try blue dawn dish soap. I have had oil paint that was dried and soaked into a canvas apron for a year come out with that. My brother sat in his car with fabric seats with his mechanic suit on and got car grease on his upholstery and we got it out. You may not want to try it on the couch, but just do another little tester on the carpet with the dish soap. Just barely dampen the carpet then take the blue Dawn dish soap and put a drop down. Use a little toothbrush or a damp corner of a town and gently scrub it - you want it to be a really thick foam at this point. Keep adding a dab more water and then scrub a bit more, bit more water, more scrub, etc. Use a dry corner of the towel to soak up the soap, etc. You may have to do it a few times or put more water on and soak it up... you'll get a feel for it, see it working and know what to do. Just remember it's the soap that is cutting the grease, so don't let it dry on, but keep working it so the soap gets all down the carpet shaft, etc. You'll know when to soak it all up for good. You can always start over if you have to. xoxox Heather 🇨🇦

Ellie if you have a protection plan on your couches they should cover the cleaning and repairs.
Great idea! I completely forgot about the good old protection plans - a must for anyone especially those with kids and pets! I don't know what I would have done without it after some of the not so little accidents on my poor furniture! Red wine, crayons, spaghetti sauce, muddy dog paws - the usual stuff, I guess, but the protection plans really came through for me!

If you have a warranty or protection plan on your furniture it will cover cleaning or replacement for those spots. Also... for the carpet, Spot Shot is A-1. It works great! If all else fails.... call Stanley Steamer! 👌🏻😂
Ellie, If the professional carpet cleaner doesn't come out before you see this. I need to tell you...... I am a Doterra Essential Oil Distributor. Not going to sell you product. lol But the Lemon oil, If you can find pure lemon essential oil in your area, the lemon oil you can put on grease or oil stains on clothes and cloth/ carpet surfaces and it will come out. you put a few drops of the lemon oil on it and rub it in, then let it stand for at least 10 minutes, then rinse with soapy water. and blot the area. Try it on the carpet before the couch though. It works literally for all my shirt types. I just put the Lemon oil on the oil stains on my shirts, rub the oil in with my finger then just throw it in the wash..... and rarely the stains don't come out the first time around. I have a almost 3 year old boy Landon who is always managing to get his greasy food fingers some where on my shirts or pants weekly lol.
And that's why I don't like carpet and prefer flooring I can just wipe it off!! I love light color couches but it's just too much anxiety to try and keep it clean or scared of any accident spills or whatever.

I have a settee the same colour as yours and managed to spill coffee over the arm. Luckily I could wash the arm covers but couldn't get the stain off in the inside of the cushion never mind..... I wish I had gotten a darker colour .......

Thanks to your family I'm now addicted to Swedish fish. I had never had them and then I kept seeing then in the whole family vlog's so I had to try them. Then I took some to my Bible Study's chili party and now my Bible Study leader is also addicted.

I hope you read this Ellie, I had makeup spilt on our carpet and tried everything!! The one thing that got it up was blue dawn dish detergent. I promise! Just hot water in a bucket with dawn dish detergent and scrub with a washcloth. If needed, even squirt a little dawn on the area and scrub away. Hope you see this and I hope it does the truck! :)

You will hate your life if you eat more than 5 or 6 of them at one time.....seriously! If you eat more, don't leave the house for at LEAST 2 days! Ask me how I know lol
Don't be embarrassed about the paint, Ellie! Once my boyfriend at the time was painting a mural in my little closet and he had all the paints on a tarp. For some reason I needed to move them and as I slid the tarp ALL the paints knocked over and went all over my carpet. I felt so dumb!! My mom saved the day and called some carpet cleaning company right away that saved the carpet.

Ugg, oil paint stains are the worst! When Kobe was a toddler he got into red oil paint and the room looked like a murder scene!! We ended up having to repaint and replace the carpet (but it was an entire can of paint) Hope you can get it out! Can't wait to see the gummy bear poop challenge, lol!

Foils painter here I would get some clear mineral spirits in a spray bottle and then get one of those tiny hand held carpet cleaners, spray suck it up spray suck it up just over and over till it's gone limit the suffering to just the spot as much as you can

Hi, Ellie! Instead of dabbing, try rubbing it with the towel. That's what we do when we spill liquids on our carpet at home. My parents grab the carpet cleaner, spray the area, and then rub vigorously with the towel until it comes off, then we dab it dry.
