He was speaking of John who wrote the book of Revelation. John saw the glory of the throne of God. He saw the end of time. He saw Jesus, in His glory, descend from heaven with a host of angels. John described, clearly, how the throne of God looks and how Jesus will look when He comes back again. John already saw it all before he tasted death. John has already seen everything in His vision while he was lifted in the spirit.
niccccceeeeeeee! but one question "he said SOME of you shall not taste death before u see the son return...." The only person that saw it was John. u don't think the bibke would of said "ONE OF YOU shall not taste death.....". because he did it when he was pointing out judas. he said "ONE of you will betray me".
I’m going to go with Occam’s razor on this one and say it makes fewer assumptions to interpret that Jesus literally meant he was coming back in the lifetime of some of his disciples to judge the world since it makes a reference to “reward every man according to his works” in the verse immediately before that. It seems like it was just a false prophecy…
I agree with you, Mwelwa. This view makes the most sense and fits in with the context and the rest of scripture. Check out the meaning of the Greek word for 'some' on biblehub. It can also mean 'any one, some one, a certain one. And all 3 gospels say 'see' rather than 'enter, inherit, experience' or anything else to indicate that John would still be alive when Jesus returns to earth with the angels. John saw it, but has not yet experienced it. That's exactly what Jesus said would happen. Unfortunately some things are lost in translation, and many people try to interpret scripture without considering the context and the translation of the text.
Um no. Jesus said some. Not one meaning John. What 3 got to see Jesus in his Glory just after him saying that? 3 of them seen hos glory. Remember his cloths lit bright and he shown him glory on the transfiguration? Those "some" we're Peter James and John.
THIS GENERATION WILL NOT TASTE DEATH TILL THEY SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD Matthew 16:28 28“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man COMING IN HIS KINGDOM.” Matthew 17:1-2 1¶And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, AND LED THEM UP A HIGH MOUNTAIN by themselves. 2And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light MARK 9:1-3 1¶And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after IT HAS COME WITH POWER.” The Transfiguration 2¶And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah”-not knowing what he said. 34As he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One;fn listen to him!” NOTE:- The some of them would not die was pertaining to Peter James and John that was amongst the people in the crowed for they saw Jesus and what he would look like when he comes in his glory. 2 PETER 1:16-18 (TESTIMONY) 16¶For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when WE MADE KNOWN TO YOU THE POWER AND COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, but WE WERE EYEWITNESSES OF HIS MAJESTY. It appears to follow in chapter 17, because a connecting number of days are stated as a transition to the transfiguration. Also, since he was likely only speaking to the 12, using the word "few" would amount to around three: Peter, James and John. Verse 17 was a vision that gave those few disciples a glimpse of his authority and glory to come.
No, “some standing here shall not taste of death” he’ll except people to die 8 days later? And were the people judged for their deeds aswell? That’s foolish
I don’t see how this interpretation of being born again makes any sense in light of the judgment described in verse 27. “For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.” (Matthew 16:27)
He it sounds like a cover up. This is better Don't cover up, for Jesus ok, it is essential to understand certain things. 1. It is either that was misheard by the Disciples, thinking Jesus was talking to them. In my first Theory, what I Jesus was about people that will be alive at the time of the Rapture. But was misinterpreted by mis recorded by the scribe due to their enthusiastic spirit. We all know for a Fact that not everyone will die before the Rapture. 2. Because Jesus has the Powers he could actually not make them die. Here in Nigeria, there's a lot of Mystic powers that a human being could Execute. Let alone God. He said he could make John not to die until he returns.. Also we all know Methuselah lived a very long time. Nothing is impossible for God. He could keep them safe somewhere. He his God. He doesn't need unnecessary cover up.
Thank you, I can't tell you how comforting it was to see you using the King James brother. My thoughts... I've long held the same view you just described but I can't get over the last few words, "the Son of man coming in his kingdom". I've always thought it was talking about seeing the kingdom of God up on that cross and also walking among them after his resurrection right up until his ascension into heaven, but none of those seem to describe the son of man "coming in his kingdom". I dare to wonder if there is someone on this earth today still baring witness of the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm not comfortable with that thought but I have absolutely no problem believing that God could do it. After all he raised the dead, calmed the seas, walked on water and plenty of things that prove his mastery over nature. The problem is, I feel like such a man would have a word that would trump the scriptures and therefor would not be allowed by the Lord to live this long... it's a crazy thought to begin with but I have to square this verse with a complete answer. I believe Jesus and contrary to a post I saw I don't think this is a false prophesy of the Lord Jesus. Something tells me that guy sees "false prophesies" all over the place but if you aren't going to believe the words of Christ you simply will choose not to believe. I believe and know there's a reason he told us this. Thanks again for the video

@Angelz symphony I really appreciate all of the verses. I know you went through a lot of work to line all of these up. It doesn't go without gratitude. I'll look at these verses in the King James and let you know what I see. I'm really looking forward to it
There are so many who has resorted to a very convoluted interpretation of this passage. So much so that ultimately one almost needs to be a master in Biblical exegesis in order to grasp their train of thought and or argument / reasoning. Yet, most people forget that Jesus did not appeal to the wise or the scholar and even said as much in Matthew 11 verses 25 - 26 ; 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.' Your interpretation is spot on. Salvation consist of three aspects namely justification (which happens at some point in the past of the believer and his or her life), sanctification (which is the work of God by which he in His sovereign will sanctifies a people to Himself in the saving work of His Son unto eternal life) and whilst they continue in the faith here on earth. and finally glorification ( a future work when the believer is called out of this life and at the return of Jesus Christ is clothed with their eternal bodies completely free from the indwelling presence of sin. In summing up, there is a past and also present sense in which all believers are already in the kingdom of God even whilst present in their bodies on this side of eternity yet anticipating the glorious fulfilment of what is yet a future event namely the redemption of their bodies which Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians chapter 15. In closing, the words Jesus spoke to His disciples can then be understood to mean that they even whilst still in their mortal flesh would be saved because of His message and words to His disciples (John 15 verse 3 ; You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.) and would know the benefits personally and experientally even on this side of eternity or in the present but yet would one day in the future come to experience the full glory of what God had done for them in the person and work of His Son Jesus Christ by which they would be gloriously transformed in their mortal flesh in the image of the Second Man Jesus Christ incorruptible and immortal.
@@connecttohope9272 I believe that Jesus Christ already came back in that generation and that the millennial reign of Christ is over the devil was recently set free for a short period and is deceiving the Nations as we speak. And even the elect will be deceived.
@@angeleliofthefamilydiaz1226 During the Millennial reign of Jesus, those of us who had been raptured and so will then be living in our resurrected, glorified bodies are going to be reigning over those who will remain in their natural bodies. Throughout the Tribulation period there will be people who are able to endure and who survive that horrifically horrible period of time. These survivors will then enter the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ in their mortal bodies. They will then have children, and their children will have children, and so the earth will be repopulated. And so, those living people who are still mortal will live on into the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ and they will be the ones the glorified saints will rule over. The survivors of the Tribulation will all be believers in Christ. There will be survivors who are not believers in Christ, but they will be condemned to death and to Hades before the Millennial Kingdom commences. But, the ones who survive who are believers, both Jew and Gentile, they will be allowed to live on into the Millennium in the flesh. Don't be deceived. Jesus did not come back and reign on Earth for 1000 years.
You started well but then you missed the mark. " There will be SOME standing here who will not taste death until..." He did not say Everyone who was standing there. NO. He said some. it means some died before his coming but there are others who were still alive when He came back into his kingdom.
When preaching Jesus was saying that preaching work won't even reach all parts of Judea before Jesus return second time. Somehow 2000 years slipped by and Jesus still didn't return.
Have you considered this possibility?: Jesus is redefining death in this passage. He says anyone who denies him will lose their life and so taste death. This happened to two of the disciples: Judas and Peter. Jesus says whoever is ashamed of Him, Jesus will be ashamed of that person when he comes in glory, so what Peter did was an incredibly grievous mistake that he had to atone for when he proclaimed his love for Jesus 3 times at the end of John's Gospel. Also notice the structure of this passage. There are 3 fors: "For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it," "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?" "For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done."This harkens back to Matthew Chapter 10. Jesus is just summing up the things he said there in this passage. In Matthew chapter 10 he meditates on the nature of death by telling his disciples not to worry about those who could kill the body, but those who can destroy the soul. So the death He was speaking about there was a spiritual one. Also notice that he rebukes Peter in this passage after giving him the keys to the kingdom of heaven. In conjunction with verse 28, it sounds like he is anticipating Peter's denial because as he says in Mark 9:35 "Anyone who wants to be first must be last, and servant of all." Jesus essentially made Peter the first among the disciples by giving him authority to bind what is on Earth and in Heaven, but also knew that with this authority, Peter would have to taste death first. So in a sense, this passage is both about Peter's mission and Jesus's mission on earth as well. John 8:51 also says that if a man keeps Jesus's word that person will never taste death. The KJV translates it as "see" death. Im not sure if they use the greek word for see. I'd love to get your view on this interpretation as well.
When we see God's Kingdom, won't we be seeing God's Glory? So if we replace Kingdom with His Glory in this verse, Jesus did show his Golry or Kingdom to 3 of his disciples in Chp 17 before their physical death. Just a thought.
Intriguing thought, Cheryl. I had never thought of it that way. Reminds me of Hebrews 1:3, where Jesus is identified as the brightness of God's glory. Thoughts?
Can you tell me how you learned the deeper meaning behind the word “see” in Greek? I searched it and cannot find the correlation between “see” and “to experience something”. Also, can you give me the correct spelling of the Greek version of “see”? I’m not being a troll. I genuinely want to learn and understand better
Hi, Charletta! Thanks so much for your questions. Your first question: "Can you tell me how you learned the deeper meaning behind the word "see" in Greek? I learned the deeper meaning behind the word "see" both from the English context and from the Greek lexicon. Let's look at the English context first by comparing John 3:3 and John 3:5. Jesus told Nicodemus, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." And in verse 5, He said, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." These verses are parallel; in other words, Jesus was saying basically the same thing but going into greater detail in verse 5; He was giving the theoretical knowledge of the kingdom of God in verse 3 and the practical experience of the kingdom of God in verse 5. Therefore, to "see" the kingdom of God in verse 3 is to "enter into," or experience, the kingdom of God in verse 5. Now let's look at the Greek lexicon. In the video, I said the Greek word for "see" in this verse is ειδο, but it is actually ὁράω. I went to BlueLetterBible.org, searched for John 3:3, clicked on the Interlinear tool, clicked on the Strong's number for the word "see" (G3708), and discovered that the third definition of this Greek word ὁράω is "to see, i.e. become acquainted with by experience, to experience." Now, we need to be careful about depending on the word definitions in Greek lexicons, as they were not written by inspired people, as were the Bible writers, but they do provide a good place to start in understanding the meaning of a word. It's best to look up how the Bible uses the word in different places. Your second question: Can you give me the correct spelling of the Greek version of "see"? There are several Greek words translated "see." The one in John 3:3 is ὁράω. The English transliteration is horaō.

The lecturer here completely distorted the context of the verse. He tried to make it appear that the seeing of the people who were standing there is actually not in a physical sense which is false the passage from verse 21 is talking about physical seeing. Moreover, after Jesus allegedly died, almost all of his disciples were still alive, not just some of them, hence this explanation still fails.
Dear pastor of this video I appreciate your effort to answer this question. I thought you did a good job. I'm also wondering about the possibility, that the specific persons he was talking about, may still be alive today and that may be the answer to this question. I do realize, that would not be any of the 12 apostles.
You know in the end it wouldn't matter what the understanding is, you couldn't ever knock me off of my belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. And just the same, it wouldn't matter to a nonbeliever how well it was explained, you couldn't knock them off of their denial of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's like the Rich man and Lazarus, " If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.” And I always find that this is the case. If someone rejects Christ, it wouldn't matter how well a person explained scripture to them, they will not believe.
So are you saying that because of this fact we are supposed to abandon the practice of Bible study and interpretation, because it's pointless??? Nothing can be gained from it??
@@trustenbaker8766" it wouldn't matter how well a person explained scripture to them...." If something doesn't matter, then what's the point? Why continue doing it?
Stoney Estevan The man who affirms that Jesus Christ is who He said He is should always be ready to give an answer. We should be able to give an explanation to all accusations and objections the unbeliever thinks they find in scripture. I was just pointing out I’ve noticed that the conversation never gets beyond objections or just flat out denial of obvious truths. And it’s because no matter how well we explain scripture, they will not believe.
Jesus hasn't came back with his kingdom yet in this is the only time that he really spoke directly and if he is who he say he is I believe some of those people are still alive today I spoke too many pastors about this particular verse and none of this been able to answer clearly the people that crucified him the person that stabbed him in the side and the people that wanted him crucified the most I believe some of those people are still alive today Methuselah live how long think about it if you did something really bad to my son and I'm God I'll keep you here until the world Fall apart
Matthew 16:27-28 continues to be a source of great consternation to Bible students. Jesus’ emphatic statement about the time of his coming, the judgment and the kingdom challenges all futurist eschatologies. The number of “explanations” that have been offered to mitigate the power of Jesus’ words is amazing. Most of these explanations are so patently ridiculous that one has to wonder at the desperation of traditionalists who make them. The most common objection to Jesus’ straightforward words is that his prediction was fulfilled just eight days later in the Transfiguration vision. We are told that the Transfiguration fulfilled Jesus’ prediction, but, that in fact, his parousia- that which was predicted in Matthew 16:28 will occur at the end of the current Christian age. So, what this means is that Matthew 16:28 was not actually fulfilled in the Transfiguration at all. It was a visionary forecast of the true fulfillment. It is even widely admitted that the Transfiguration was not the event itself that Jesus predicted but was somehow a typological, or symbolic vision of the fulfillment of what Jesus predicted. Think about that for a moment. This means that Jesus was saying, “There are some standing here that shall not taste death until they see a vision of the yet future coming of the son of Man.” This will not work, especially in light of Mark 9:1. When one examines the Greek of the text, notice the literal translation: “Verily I say to you, That there are certain of those standing here, who may not taste of death till they see the reign of God having come in power” (Young’s Literal. Notice also the RSV and other translations). In other words, some standing there that day would not die until they saw that the coming of the Son of Man in the kingdom had come in power! They would live until that event. They would live through that event. They would look back on the fulfillment of Jesus’ words. Jesus was not saying, “Some standing here will not taste of death until they see a vision of the future coming.” He said, “There are some standing here that shall not taste of death until they see that the kingdom of God after it has come with power” (NASB). The literal Greek of Mark totally dispels and destroys the idea of the Transfiguration being the fulfillment of Jesus’ prediction. Jesus’ words “Some standing here” demands that the majority of those standing there would die before the parousia. The event he was predicting was to be sufficiently far off temporally that most of that audience would die, but some would survive to see his coming. Did only a handful of that multitude survive the next eight days until the Transfiguration? This “explanation” of Jesus’ prediction is patently false on this fact alone, but, this is not nearly all. Notice that only three men- three men!!- witnessed the Transfiguration. So, what we are being told is that Jesus, standing in the midst of a huge multitude, said “Some standing here will not die until the see the Son of Man coming” and what he meant by that was that “three of you standing here will not die until they see me coming.” By the very nature of the case, this argument falls because it is so ludicrous. It is argued that Peter’s referent to the Transfiguration in 2 Peter 1:16 proves that Matthew 16:28 was fulfilled on the Mount. But this simply is not true. The Transfiguration proves that the parousia was truly imminent in the first century, and was to be fulfilled in the fall of Jerusalem). Peter did appeal to the Transfiguration as a vision of the parousia. Of this there can be no doubt. And, he even said that that Transfiguration made the prophetic word more sure. But, he did not say that the Transfiguration fulfilled Jesus prediction in Matthew 16:28! To claim that Peter did say this is a gross mis-use of 2 Peter 1:16f. Finally, it is argued that the Transfiguration proves that the Lord is to come at the end of the current (Christian) age. Nothing could be more false! Now, it is true that the Transfiguration was a vision of the end of an age, of this there can be no doubt. But, of what age was the Transfiguration a vision of the impending or future end? It patently was not the Christian age. The Christian age has no end, so this fact alone destroys the argument, but, the Transfiguration vision itself defines the end that was to end. What really happened on the Mount? Did the disciples witness a visionary end to planet earth? Did the see a vision of the end of time? Nothing in the vision even remotely suggests such a thing. Did they witness the end of the Gospel? Well, since Jesus said that his word- and thus the gospel age- will never pass away (Matthew 25:35) it is patently wrong to suggest that they saw such a thing. So, what did the disciples see? What age ended in the Transfiguration vision? We have only to remember that in the vision, Moses and Elijah- who do not by any stretch of the imagination represent the current Christian age- appeared to Jesus. In his enthusiasm, Peter wanted to establish three tabernacles in honor of Moses, Elijah and Jesus. But what happened? Moses and Elijah vanished away, and the voice from heaven, the Bath Qol, said “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him!” What happened on the Mount was that the disciples saw a vision of the passing of the Old Covenant age of Moses and Elijah! If the claim that Matthew 16:28 was fulfilled in the Transfiguration is true, then the vision itself does not match. The disciples should have seen Jesus fade away. Instead, they saw a vision of the establishment of the age and word of Jesus! The glory of Christ was established- not terminated- in the vision. The New Covenant age was depicted as transcendent over Moses and Elijah. The Transfiguration was not, in any way whatsoever, a vision of the passing of the current Christian age. Those who claim that the Transfiguration was a vision of the end of the Christian age must be able to show how and why the vanishing of Moses and Elijah represented and communicated the idea of the end of the Christian age. This cannot be done. What all of this means, and I present much, much more in my book Can You Believe Jesus Said This?, proves beyond any doubt that Jesus’ prediction in Matthew 16:28 was not fulfilled, typologically or in vision form, on the Mount of Transfiguration. That mountain top vision did confirm Jesus prophetic word as more sure, but, it did not fulfill his prophecy. The fulfillment of his words took place at the end of the age of Moses and Elijah, and that was at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The futurist “explanation” of Matthew 16:28 is false.
With God all things are possible Enoch and Elisha were taken up to heaven and will return in end times. Lord Jesus said in Matthew 16.28 exactly how it is written there is some Disciples still here on Earth waiting for his return. Ye of little faith if you fail to see the power of God, with him all things are possible.
There is no disconnecting vs 28 from vs 27 and because Jesus has not rewarded every man according to his deeds this becomes one more passage that demomstrates that he was wrong about his second coming.
Here are three reasons why you’re probably wrong about that. 1. The transfiguration is incompatible with verse 27, which says that he will replay each person according to what they have done. That didn’t happen with the transfiguration, and Paul sees the repaying as a future event in Romans 2:6. 2. The transfiguration happened only six days later, which doesn’t make sense of the words “some of you standing here will not taste death…” in verse 28. Those words imply that most of the people he was speaking too would die by the time it’s fulfilled. Who died in the six days between Jesus speaking the words of Matt 16:27-28 and the transfiguration? 3. If Matthew 16:27-28 is speaking about the second coming, it would fit perfectly with multiple other verses in Matthew which indicate that the son of man would return within the lifetime of those Jesus was speaking to. (Matthew 10:23, 24:34) Let’s interpret scripture in light of scripture.
Not simple. According to a lot of historical sources all the 12 apostles died. Though, the verse states "some of you standing here...", "SOME", so not only one person, refers to couple, a few. A few of them did not taste death: possibility1 - they could still be alive even till today (assuming Jesus not returned yet) waiting for His coming. Possibilty2 - he took them before they died by persecution (your favourite) Possiblity3 - he took them before they died of old age (assuming they did not suffer persecution) contrary to historical sources. Either way I find this verse very significant, because it spills some beans on the secret workings of the kingdom of heaven. And was shocking when I first read it because before that I only had the belief that Enoch and Elijah were the only two persons in the Bible who did not taste death. Clearly this verse states there are more. My soul is crying: who are these people?! Why are they so lucky?! Will this happen again in my life time?! What can you do to earn such a reward?! To skip death! Ahhh man that is so unfair, some taste it some don't. Ahhh mighty YHWH why so many mysteries
@@stoneyestevan1513 the flesh dying is not tasting death. To taste death is to die in the flesh before Jesus destroyed death and hell at his return. We no longer taste death because hell is destroyed. When we die in the flesh our soul has direct access to heaven if we chose. Before Jesus came back everybody waited in hell.
@@justinscofield2811 My friend, where did you get these teachings from about the after life? Are you Roman Catholic? This teaching scares me: "our souls have direct access to heaven if we chose to" This teaches that even a serial killer has direct access to heaven if he chose to, because he has nowhere else to go, because hell is destroyed according to you. That also implies you don't need Jesus, baptism, Love or repentance of sin to gain access to heaven. It's a free for all. You choose whether you wana go or not when you die. Your heaven scares me my friend

This isn’t meant to be taken but how it reads. This, along with many others versus, along with the erases history & all the ruins across the world, some destroyed by what looks like a fervent heat, simply is telling us that Christ & his millennial reign has already happened. Now is the short season the devil is let loose. If you have to explain it to these lengths then you know something else is going on? Why would he complicate it like this but not say so? He was asked a question and he answered. Plain and simple.
A closer inspection only on Mathew 16-Jesus did not fulfill it. Who is the target audience? Simon, son of Jonah Simon son of Jonah (Matthew 16:17) Peter (Matthew 16:17) There are only two disciples named: Simon and Peter (Matthew 16:16) Then Jesus warrants “some of you standing here,” namely, Simon and Peter will not taste death until they see the Son of Man . . . “returning with the Angels” and “to repay each one according to what he has done.” (Matthew 16:28) Here, Jesus prophesied that before Simon and Peter die, in their life time, they will see Jesus again coming with the Angels to execute Swift Justice in their life time. Did Simon or Peter wrote that they saw Jesus returning with the Angels-Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Palmoni, Uriel, Ariel, to execute Justice in their life time? The chapter concludes that Simon and Peter will see Jesus returning in their life time with the “Kingdom”-royal Power as King. Simon nor Peter never make such references about Jesus coming with Angels-Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Palmoni, Uriel, Ariel, to execute Justice in their life time. Matthew 17-is about the transfiguration of Jesus but no mention of Angels and Justice. Jesus mentions only mentions 2 dates. 1. This generation standing before me, namely the disciples (Matthew 16) 2. The end of the Age of Pisces (Matthew 24) Conclusion, on one hand, it was never fulfilled in their life time-Matthew 16. First off, lying is not a sin. Bearing false witness against your neighbor, is. That is a very specific kind of lie. That type of lie, is what the sin is, not lying in and of itself. Basically, slander against someone that you know, did not, nor would not, do what you claim. I do hope that yall can discern the difference.
The Kingdom of Heaven does not come with signs and it isn't something that can be observed. God's Kingdom is invisible, it is a Spiritual Kingdom. It is a false belief to think that Jesus is going to come back in the flesh and set up an earthly Kingdom. When Jesus was resurrected He no longer had the same kind of physical body that He had before the resurrection. He had a glorified body that could pass through walls and He could appear suddenly as He did on the road to Emmaus after His resurrection. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:45 that the second Adam, meaning Christ, is now a life giving Spirit. Paul also says that Jesus ascended above all the heavens and filled all things with His presence. Jesus prayer to God before His crucifixion and asked that He received the glory He had with the Father before the world was created. Speaking of the Holy Spirit Jesus tells His disciples that they would not be left alone that He would come to them. Jesus says in Matthew 28:20 that He will be with us even until the end of the world. Jesus already came once in the flesh to do the will of the Father and be crucified and raised but the body He received after His resurrection is a Spiritual body and we who live according to His word at the final resurrection will also receive a Spiritual body. When Jesus said that generation would not pass before they would see Him coming in His Kingdom He was referring to the day of Pentecost when the Spirit of Christ was poured out on those that were being saved. God is a Trinity but you cannot separate the Father, Son and Spirit. When one is present the they are all present. In John 14 Jesus mentions the Spirit, Himself and the Father making their abide within the hearts of the believers. Jesus is a life giving Spirit, God is Spirit, God's Word is Spirit and Truth it is all God. It is a Spiritual Kingdom that a person finds within themselves for the Kingdom of God is within you. It is a subjective experience of God that is available to all that believe and obey. Paul says in Roman 14 that the Kingdom is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. This world is passing away and we do not know yet what the New Heaven and New Earth will be like but that is when the entire earth will be under subjection to God and righteousness will reign. Luke 17:20-21 KJV [20] The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. John 14:16-18 KJV [16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 17:5 KJV [5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
What i believe Jesus was truly saying in Mathew us that they wouldn't die before seeing him i believe he was speaking directly to the because after those words in Chaper 17:1,2 they witnessed him in his glory similar to to other visions in the bible verse to says and he was transfigured before them means he transformation into essential form proceeding from within, His face did shine as the son and his rainment was white as light. I have proof that this what i believe stands in Luke 2:25-29 when God was speaking with Simeon and was given spiritual insight by God and was told to him in verse 26 that he would not see death, before he had seen the Lords Christ then he said bless God in verse 28 in verse 29 he said Lord speaking to God now lettest thou thy servent depart in peace according to thy word in verse 30 he says fir my eyes have seen salvation in verse 31 which thou hast prepared before the face of all people. In verse 32 he says A light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory if thy people Israel which was prophesied about in the old Testament God bless hopefully you guys understand correct me if im wrong 🙏❤️🙌
Jesus doesn’t mean physical death. Look how the same phrase “taste death” is conveyed in the following passage. 🔹”At this they exclaimed, “Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never TASTE DEATH.” John 8:52 Also consider, 🔹”Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will NEVER see DEATH.” John 8:51 And, 🔹”Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall NEVER DIE. Do you believe this?”“John 11:25-26 Therefore, when Jesus says that there are some people who were currently in his presence that will not taste death until he comes in his kingdom, he is clearly talking about those who will never see death but will receive eternal life that is rewarded on the day he comes in glory.
The Transfiguration was 3 days later we’re only “SOME” alive? No they were ALL alive! We’re there to only “SOME” alive at Pentecost? Only Judas had passed away and there were no Angels w Jesus passing out rewards!
Jesus Christ and HIM Crucified is the gospel the apostle Paul preached Christ Crucified, it’s just as Jesus Christ said I know because I seen Jesus Christ coming in his kingdom I was there I have a video as well Matthew 16 verse 28 , Jesus Christ is coming
If you truly believe in a supernatural God Who has sent His Spirit here to aid people in finding the truth then you will be fine…If God is real and the Bible is true then there is a explanation to every alleged contradiction..God will lead you to truth and sin will lead people to deceive..it’s all about what you believe before you read..but this is not a opinion The Bible is either true or it’s not so choose wisely 🙏I pray you find truth and understand it is very difficult to translate ancient text and capture the essence perfectly
you know eddie murphie in the movie vampire in brooklyn very wisely convinces people that ass is good because god is good. this one literally demonstrates the same thing. it is not funny but disgusting how lame attempt people make to change the verse that is bright as daylight and nobody has differed upon. Did you not read, he shall reward EVERY man? that means give them what they deserve, in other words day of judgement. please explain 1) were ALL MEN rewarded according to their deeds? not even a single person was rewarded. 2) Lets say hypothetically only good disciples can see the kingdom of god, WHERE ON EARTH DID THEY WRITE THAT? I mean how did you know about it? If your interpretation was correct why didn't they write that and say that this is what was meant and this is how we got rewarded. Christians can go to any length to maintain their belief
Its not explaining them.not dying before Jesus comes in His kingdom. I wasn't standing there. But the decides were and they did die before His Kingdom came. Is not His Kingdom either the mellinial Kingdom or the new heavens earth and Jerusalem once this earth is destroyed?
This is a test does Lord Jesus Christ have the power to leave a couple of disciples on Earth until his second coming back to Earth. Answer Yes, He is God, ye of little faith to think and make excuses otherwise. Remember Enoch and Elisha are coming back to taste death in Jerusalem as per Revelations. With God all things are possible.
I just want to give you a different perspective on the verse. Jesus second coming is not a physical second coming and Luke chapter 17 verse 20 and 21 we see that the kingdom of God is within you or in the midst of you same word same interpretation. We see you in John chapter 18 verse 35 and 36 he's telling pilot that the kingdom is spiritual not physical. Then we see in first Corinthians chapter 15 verse 50 that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom. So we got three verses that says that the kingdom is spiritual not physical but you want to say that the kingdom is physical show me the verses where Jesus says that the kingdom is physical not spiritual. These verses do not exist the physical kingdom is a myth and it's been taught wrong for 2000 plus years and Matthew 16:28 that is a generational statement. He makes the same argument in Matthew 23:36 this generation Matthew 24:34 this generation. For a futurist to believe that the second coming is a physical future second coming you literally have to change the meaning of the verses and here sir you have changed the meaning of the verse
Nothing to talk about born again what Jesus said is very clear don't try to give your own explanation as if you are an expert don't exibit your ignorance
What this means is it’s talking about the second death which is going to hell when Jesus comes back with his angels to rule and reign 1000 years on the earth that’s when the wicked are taken off of the earth and cast into hell and the ones that already died get the second second death that’s what it’s talking about! Some of those that were standing there with Jesus was going to taste the second death when he comes back he knew which ones that we’re going to go to hell that’s what he was talking about!
Nope, better luck next time ruclips.net/video/UyrVioG0bjE/видео.html jesus is lord and I pray you change ur ways so you don’t start to cry for forgiveness when you stand in front of Jesus and it’s too late.

this prophecy talks about the day of judgement, the Armageddon, or whatever you may call it. jesus was not the first guy who got peoples attention by scaring them of the day of judgement, neither was he the last. mohammad told the same in sahih muslim, authentic hadeeth, that the Hour (day of judgement) will appear before this boy becomes old. and even today many people use it to benefit from putting people into fear, like the jehovahs witnesses. now why do they do it? its simply because when people are told the world is getting over anyway, they put all their money, heart and soul in the religion that alone has a way to save to them. the one who makes such claims doesn't care about you because he knows that he'll be already gone by then. but even he would be shocked to know that people still believe. funny thing is that jehovas wintesses have failed over and over again but they still dont quit giving explicit dates because it brings them a lot of money, and believers will continue to believe no matter what happens. remember jonestown guy or whatever that koolaid guy was, people can actually drink poison instead of challening their faith.
This is a false interpretation. Matt. 16:27-28, 1 Thes. 4:15-17, and 1 Cor. 15:50-52 are speaking to people living in "that generation and lifetime" that the Messiah came to. In all those verses listed it states that some people of "that generation" would be alive to see/experience his imminent return in "their lifespan." Do you know that the Messiah made promises to his people in "their generation and lifetimes" that had to be fulfilled? Do you know that he said that 1st Century chosen generation was when all things written(prophecy) would be fulfilled? (See Luke 21:22.) Otherwise he'd be lying to them and to us that're reading their redemption story 2000+ years later? Everything in the Bible was addressed to "the original audience" it was written and intended to reach, not me or you or anyone born in the 20th century. The question you have to ask yourself is are you reading the Bible as if it's directly addressed to you or as "their" redemption story within their lifetimes? Are you inserting yourself as the recipient of 1st Century letters that were written to real living people of that time? Are you replacing the targeted audience and making yourself the direct audience? Are you reading yourself into a story that's not addressed to you? Audience relevance and direct time statements made by the Messiah and his apostles put everything in perspective "if you honor them." Through the redemption of the old covenant world we have direct access to heaven and the presence of The Almighty. That's the blessing humanity received through what the Messiah did for "his predestined elect." You don't need a religion to love or be accepted by him. All you need to do is listen to your conscience where he speaks with us all. The truth is when the Messiah says "Verily ,verily I say unto you" he's not talking to me or you. I hope this helps people put this blessing of life in perspective when it comes to organized man-made religions that The Most High didn't intend to indoctrinate the masses with a story that already took place 2000 years ago.
The Son of mans kingdom is the millenial kingdom of heaven on earth. Back to law and works. Its the 1,000 year Day of the LORD YAHWEH. Son of Gods kingdom is the Kingdom of God...

We are in the time when Satan has gone out to deceive the nations one last time.
I was listening to what my dad's friend has to say about this and to him, this verse goes far deeper. It begins with Genesis and noticing how in Genesis 1, it only says "God", but in Gensis 2, it says "LORD God". And it explains how "God" in chapter 1 created mankind in his image and told them to go out and subdue the Earth. HOWEVER, in chapter 2, LORD God places Adam in the Garden of Eden and told him to name the animals. He didn't tell him to go out and subdue the world otherwise he wouldn't have put the garden of Eden there and told him to go out and subdue the world. The reasoning for this is that, according to my dad's friend, there is more than one god, with the first one being Lucifer before he fell from heaven. Lucifer is known as the "Architect" of this world which shows that he created it with the permission of LORD God. He created these humans made in his image, while LORD God created Adam and Eve within the Garden of Eden. There's a lot more to this, like how did Cain marry someone far away, but it goes back to this verse, Matthew 16:28 where Jesus tells his disciples that some standing here will not taste of death until the son of Man comes. And the ones Jesus was talking about is the children of Satan. And how they won't die. Basically immortal human beings. This is all according to my dad and his friends and some other people, and to be honest, it does make a lot of sense. I just want to find some answers.

- And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah (God) will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Have you told people to worship you and your mother as gods instead of Allah (God) [Alone]?” He (Jesus) will answer, “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say? If I had said such a thing, you would have certainly known it. You know what is ˹hidden˺ within me, but I do not know what is within You. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Knower of all unseen. - I have never told them anything except what You ordered me to say: “Worship Allah (God) [Alone] -my Lord and your Lord!” And I was witness over them as long as I remained among them. mohammad told in sahih muslim, authentic hadeeth, that the Hour (day of judgement) will appear before this boy becomes old. And in sahih bukhari he said, me and the day of judgement are like my two finger (and he raised his hand and joined his index finger and middle finger). Where is the day of Judgement? If you will read the interpretation of the muslim scholars, you'll be ashamed how stupid it is; much worse than the christian lame attempts
Preterism gives a correct interpretation of this and similar passages of Scripture. Google Don K Preston and follow his teaching for full understanding of this verses.
When you put it in context Jesus was obviously talking about His 2nd coming and bringing final judgement on the world. Clearly this is a glaring problem with bible inerrancy. Either Jesus didn't say this or he lied to his disciples; the latter being a terrible reality for Christian believers.
@astley rick I don't think there's any hidden meaning in this verse (just look at Mt 16:27 for the correct context). Matthew 17 is a strange chapter, unlike anything in the synoptic gospels, and one can't help but think this was a later addition to account for the failed prophecy of Mt 16:28.
@astley rick I would think Jesus would do this to keep his followers in line once he died. That's why Jesus told the parable of the evil vineyard tenants. He didn't want anyone backsliding on him once he was gone. What must have been real interesting is when "those standing here" started dying and Jesus still didn't show up. The whole situation is very sad (assuming Jesus wasn't a prophet or God incarnate).

And it still doesn't work that way
It appears to follow in chapter 17, because a connecting number of days are stated as a transition to the transfiguration.
@@Mark8.34 It means 8 days later he was alone with just three.
I don’t see how this interpretation of being born again makes any sense in light of the judgment described in verse 27.

He it sounds like a cover up. This is better
Don't cover up, for Jesus ok, it is essential to understand certain things.

What bible version did they use in 1,000 AD?
There are so many who has resorted to a very convoluted interpretation of this passage. So much so that ultimately one almost needs to be a master in Biblical exegesis in order to grasp their train of thought and or argument / reasoning. Yet, most people forget that Jesus did not appeal to the wise or the scholar and even said as much in Matthew 11 verses 25 - 26 ; 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, "I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 "Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.'
Your interpretation is spot on.
Jesus is speaking to believers so they are already born again at the time he is speaking to them.
Thanks for your comment!

During the Millennial reign of Jesus, those of us who had been raptured and so will then be living in our resurrected, glorified bodies are going to be reigning over those who will remain in their natural bodies.
I believe some of the disciple stnding there with Jesus is still alive today.

Awesome, thanks. God bless
Thank you!
Have you considered this possibility?:
Jesus is redefining death in this passage.
He was referring to the transfiguration as in the next chapter. Simple.
You just earned a sub sir, and thank you for the enlightenment

Get a "strongs concordance bible". It shows almost every word and what it means in greek and Hebrew language.

Excellent. Thank you.
I appreciate your input!
So are you saying that because of this fact we are supposed to abandon the practice of Bible study and interpretation, because it's pointless??? Nothing can be gained from it??

Stoney Estevan The man who affirms that Jesus Christ is who He said He is should always be ready to give an answer. We should be able to give an explanation to all accusations and objections the unbeliever thinks they find in scripture. I was just pointing out I’ve noticed that the conversation never gets beyond objections or just flat out denial of obvious truths. And it’s because no matter how well we explain scripture, they will not believe.

How do you know Jesus hasn’t chills back yet.
Moses and Elijah vanished away, and the voice from heaven, the Bath Qol, said “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him!”
What happened on the Mount was that the disciples saw a vision of the passing of the Old Covenant age of Moses and Elijah!
It is indeed true that with God ALL things are possible! Thanks so much for your comment, Dennis!
There is no disconnecting vs 28 from vs 27 and because Jesus has not rewarded every man according to his deeds this becomes one more passage that demomstrates that he was wrong about his second coming.
The answer of this question is on chaper 17 verse 1-3
The answer is simple Jesus already came back like he said.
Possibilty2 - he took them before they died by persecution (your favourite)
Possiblity3 - he took them before they died of old age (assuming they did not suffer persecution) contrary to historical sources.
This teaching scares me: "our souls have direct access to heaven if we chose to"
This teaches that even a serial killer has direct access to heaven if he chose to, because he has nowhere else to go, because hell is destroyed according to you.
That also implies you don't need Jesus, baptism, Love or repentance of sin to gain access to heaven. It's a free for all. You choose whether you wana go or not when you die.

Simon, son of Jonah Simon son of Jonah (Matthew 16:17)
Peter (Matthew 16:17)
There are only two disciples named: Simon and Peter (Matthew 16:16)
Then Jesus warrants “some of you standing here,” namely, Simon and Peter will not taste death until they see the Son of Man . . .
“returning with the Angels” and “to repay each one according to what he has done.” (Matthew 16:28)
Here, Jesus prophesied that before Simon and Peter die, in their life time, they will see Jesus again coming with the Angels to execute
Swift Justice in their life time.
1. This generation standing before me, namely the disciples (Matthew 16)
2. The end of the Age of Pisces (Matthew 24)
Conclusion, on one hand, it was never fulfilled in their life time-Matthew 16.
On the other hand-it was fulfilled at the end of the Age-Matthew 24.

Haahahahaha
You talking about he/she youtuber? It's because of that weirdo that I'm watching this.
Jesus is a sun god, when you read it in this context it makes sense.
But most of them would not die in that short period anyways so why was it necessary to say before death?
Luke 17:20-21 KJV
[20] The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
John 14:16-18 KJV
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 17:5 KJV
[5] And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Verse 27?
Jesus doesn’t mean physical death.
Look how the same phrase “taste death” is conveyed in the following passage.
🔹”At this they exclaimed, “Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never TASTE DEATH.” John 8:52
Also consider,
🔹”Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will NEVER see DEATH.” John 8:51
And,
🔹”Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall NEVER DIE. Do you believe this?”“John 11:25-26
Therefore, when Jesus says that there are some people who were currently in his presence that will not taste death until he comes in his kingdom, he is clearly talking about those who will never see death but will receive eternal life that is rewarded on the day he comes in glory.
I really appreciate this very helpful explanation. It makes sense. Praise God! ☺️
The Transfiguration was 3 days later we’re only “SOME” alive? No they were ALL alive!
We’re there to only “SOME” alive at Pentecost? Only Judas had passed away and there were no Angels w Jesus passing out rewards!
It seems like it's saying Jesus already returned because the disciples are all dead.
The main point here to find who didn’t taste death among his disciples. Any of his disciples didn’t die?

I don't know...that's a stretch
No it's not... it's a fantastic explanation
Its not explaining them.not dying before Jesus comes in His kingdom. I wasn't standing there. But the decides were and they did die before His Kingdom came. Is not His Kingdom either the mellinial Kingdom or the new heavens earth and Jerusalem once this earth is destroyed?
@@kesienaadomi5233Yes it is 🙏
This is a test does Lord Jesus Christ have the power to leave a couple of disciples on Earth until his second coming back to Earth.
Could He mean the 144,000?
Nothing to talk about born again what Jesus said is very clear don't try to give your own explanation as if you are an expert don't exibit your ignorance
What this means is it’s talking about the second death which is going to hell when Jesus comes back with his angels to rule and reign 1000 years on the earth that’s when the wicked are taken off of the earth and cast into hell and the ones that already died get the second second death that’s what it’s talking about! Some of those that were standing there with Jesus was going to taste the second death when he comes back he knew which ones that we’re going to go to hell that’s what he was talking about!
Context can be seen in Matt 16, 27. Judgement day. It is a false prophecy made by Jesus. It is a defeater for Christianity.

this prophecy talks about the day of judgement, the Armageddon, or whatever you may call it. jesus was not the first guy who got peoples attention by scaring them of the day of judgement, neither was he the last. mohammad told the same in sahih muslim, authentic hadeeth, that the Hour (day of judgement) will appear before this boy becomes old. and even today many people use it to benefit from putting people into fear, like the jehovahs witnesses. now why do they do it? its simply because when people are told the world is getting over anyway, they put all their money, heart and soul in the religion that alone has a way to save to them. the one who makes such claims doesn't care about you because he knows that he'll be already gone by then. but even he would be shocked to know that people still believe. funny thing is that jehovas wintesses have failed over and over again but they still dont quit giving explicit dates because it brings them a lot of money, and believers will continue to believe no matter what happens. remember jonestown guy or whatever that koolaid guy was, people can actually drink poison instead of challening their faith.

Trying to equate transfiguration to kingdom is just mental gymnastics to get around the fact that this is one of many failed profecy

¶“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.
20¶He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
Im sorry brother,
your interpretation is wrong.
We all must admit,
Jesus and his deciples were wrong concerning the end times and his return.
Stay blessed
Immortals amongst us, others maybe will reincarnate, then there's 2nd death
Well being born again is a form of death. So 😂
Tasty death is eating a steak or a fish fillet technically speaking
This verse makes all of Christianity a joke.
It's a false prophecy. It means Jesus is not divine. Judgment day did not come within the lifetimes of Christ's disciples.
But when You took me, You were the Witness over them-and You are a Witness over all things.
- If You punish them, they belong to You after all. But if You forgive them, You are surely the Almighty, All-Wise.”

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!
Muhammad is of the devil and preached another gospel and thus is accursed. Repent for the coming of tge son of man is near
@@christismylordandgod God says He who dies on the cross is cursed and Jesus was cursed according to the bible
mohammad told in sahih muslim, authentic hadeeth, that the Hour (day of judgement) will appear before this boy becomes old.
Definitely not.
