Honestly, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night from anxiety (usually regarding work) and I swear the one thing that helps me is putting on my EarPods and putting on their podcasts. I fall back asleep in like 5 mins 😂
I love that the last ten minutes of this podcast is them worrying about the storm. I have a fear of escalators. I try to avoid them at the mall and use the stairs or elevator if I can. I’m always afraid I’m gonna trip and fall and hurt my leg on an escalator.
Lucas, I used to throw up for weird specific reasons (like your burger/beef thing) like too much condensation in the shower or being hungry. Turns out it was all anxiety and my brain trying to find a reason for the puking that made sense since I didn’t know I had panic attacks or anxiety and then those situations would cause me to throw up in the future because my brain had already drawn that connection even though it didn’t necessarily exist. Just some food for thought, maybe you relate more than you realize :)
Omg something like this also happened to me. I always thought I hated breakfast because I just didn't like eating in the morning and even just the thought of it made me feel nauseous but it was because when I was younger I would always feel sick/throw up before school because of anxiety
When I was little I was afraid of quick sand because cartoons made it seem like such a big deal and so prevalent...like I thought just any random space of ground could give way at any moment.
People need to face their fears. I don't really have any phobias; I really hate grasshoppers, but I did grab one once that landed on my dad. We were in a cab of a truck, sitting in a field with windows down, and a grasshopper jumped in . . . !!!!!!! Chewing w/your mouth closed is a skill, and if you cover your mouth when you chew, it looks stupid, like there's something physical deformed about your mouth that you can't close it when you chew.
I have a fear of birds. Their beaks just freaked me out. One time when I was younger we were getting french fries at the Boardwalk and all these seagulls started flying over to us and I got really scared that they were going to attack us and peck our eyes out. Whenever a bird tries to get close to me I always run away
Jacob: But it’s not as scary as it used to be, because you have a better perception of the world. So you don’t view everything as unknown anymore. Also Jacob: Maybe she lived around a blow dryer farm? Get you a man that can do both👏🏼
As a fan, I hate to see it: but I could see why some people were afraid of MJ in the 2000s. But he’s literally one of my favorite people, and it has me cackling how much you guys have randomly mentioned him in your main channel vids and podcast topics over the years. 🖐🏿😩💀
That thing about being "afraid" of certain noises, especially stuff like chewing is called misophonia, I have it and it's awful. Basically it triggers this fight-or-flight response in your brain that drives you to the edge of insanity if you can't immediately get away from the source of the noise. It sometimes extends to visuals associated with the noise, even if there's no sound. It's very poorly understood, it's not in the DSM yet and people aren't sure if it's more psychological or neurological.
I have the fear of throwing up too, it’s so bad. I’m terrified of seeing someone else throw up or like getting sick from them too. (It’s called emetophobia) I also have OCD though so I’m super scared of germs 🥴
I used to be scared of Michael Jackson too but I feel like it's mainly because of that scene in Scary Movie where they use him (well not actually him but it looks like him) in a parody of The Others (which also terrified me as a child)
I was scared of him too but for a different reason. My parents had a poster of him and it was in front of my bed and it weirded me out since he was dead and I thought his ghost would haunt me 💀
I have a fear of rain and thunderstorms and just bad weather as well and when they were stressing out about the thunderstorm i started to get anxious lol
Omg you included mine! Tbh it's not even just that it grosses me out, I can't even describe how it makes me feel. I literally feel like I might die if someone vomits near me. I know that sounds so dramatic lol I have no idea where this fear came from or what caused it but I've had it since I was a kid because I remember my brother throwing up next to me in the car once and I just started freaking out (I think I was probably 8-ish at the time) Maybe that was the start of it but idk it could've been something before that
As a child I was scared of Santa claus and Easter bunny, thought there was an evil counterpart coming for me.. also I was always scared I would see what I would feel was watching me
Omg I have a fear of bellybuttons too! It’s called Omphalophobia! I can’t believe someone else said that 😂😂😭 I punched my best friend once for jokingly touching my bellybutton. I can’t look at other people touching their bellybuttons, I’ll feel like I am going to faint or throw up. I remember a specific commercial I think for Activia or something where they showed a stomach and there was an animated arrow going around her stomach and I could never watch that commercial cause the arrow looked too much like it was going through her belly button 😂😭😭😭😅 As a kid I remember being scared my belly button would come untied too. usually I’m fine just looking at them from a distance like at the beach and stuff tho. Sometimes I still check behind the shower curtain as a 24 year old 😂😅 not cause I’m actually really scared but it just feels like it’s necessary sometimes at night.😂 I get the train one too. My siblings and I almost got hit by a train once cause the train signal was broken and my step dad also passed away a few years ago from being hit by a train.
Your brother sitting in the back with no microphone is how i feel listening to this podcast.
😅
I love the live studio audience in the background LMFAO. He’s their own personal laugh track. Also they’re all the same person but different font.
Lmfao
Lucas freaking out about the thunderstorm after saying he’s not afraid of them anymore has me dead
ethan looks like a fan they flew out to be a special guest
😂
He don’t talk much, do he?

@@thevanessarosetteI mean their entire family that we’ve seen is super extroverted so it’s gotta balance out somewhere with that many people😂😂
Ethan just chillin in the back while Bald bros freaking out over the weather Lolol
Riddled with anxiety today so I’m listening to this in the background just for distraction. I find Jacob and Lucas so calming. Don’t know why… 😂
Yeah same they have very calming, lowkey, positive energy that helps me decompress.
Oh my god I’m listening to them during lunch for distraction too.
Yesss they are sooo calming. Best thing when I have anxiety

Me too!!! When I go shopping with other people they always wanna go on them cuz it’s quicker, but I always start shaking when I’m on an escalator

lucas's car is so clean im surprised he's letting ethan drink red gatorade
Birds is Alfred Hitchcock not Steven king! I’ve never seen it but the images are iconic

Ethan low key dunking on Jacob for being an ugly eater. 🤣👏💖

im scared of birds popping like a baloon, like imagine poking them with a needle and they just pop

It was PS2. Blockbuster was already out of business by the time we were in high school. I rented silent Hill through Blockbuster as well lol
The intro sounds like Britney Spears' first single, "....Baby One More Time" back in the late '90s on this video and it's so very nostalgic!!
britney spears actually sampled this theme song
