The lyrics are mixed between Bahasa and English. And the Bahasa part is actually critics to education in school, where there are certain expectations, like you need to be smart, you need to follow the rules, follow all the dogmas, etc. Parents with certain expectations, teachers with their own visions, they kind of forcing their own perceptions down to their throats. It was as if they are just mannequins, with no consciousness (thus the lyric "and my soul is empty") and it's up to other people to put them in certain pose. I think that's the symbolism of those mannequins in this MV.
First, you must mention with complete phrase "bahasa Indonesia", not only "bahasa". Because "bahasa" means "language" only. We don't want people say that we speak "Bahasian" instead of "Indonesian", do we?
baceprot metal music group from the city of Garut, West Java, Indonesia. formed since 2014. Its personnel consist of young girls. They are vocalist and guitarist Firdda Kurnia, drummer Euis Siti Aisyah and bassist Widi Rahmawati. Has been interviewed by various national and international media from The Guardian, NPR, Reuters, BBC, Metal Injection, Mashable, The New York Times, Metal Hammer, Pitchfork, and many more. has received various awards including: Independent music award nominations for best metal or hadrcore music.
How did I miss this, it was right in front of me. Anyway, probably my favorite song from them. From what I gleaned from the internet, it's about some trouble they had in school after they started this band. I believe a stone was thrown at one of them, thus the mannequin heads with what looks like blood on them.
Something to point out is that they were all self-taught when this video was made. They are just now starting to take music lessons from professionals. They haven't reached their peak yet by any means.
