For those who keep defending his actions because of his age, Ja is not the only 24yo in the league. Jason Taytum grew up in a single parent home with little money. His neighbor would feed him and his young mom! because they had so little. While Ja had two parents jumping on tractor tires getting trained by his dad and goign to private school.
Jayson is 25 Ja is 23 😂there’s a slight difference
@@nothingbutnets9025there really isnt dude. Common sense says dont wave a gun around when you have a bag, or ever for that matter.
That's cool man, but everyone is different. Good for Tatum. It's still ok to say that Ja is young and was influenced differently by his surroundings than other people and maybe he needs some help. Are you implying that Ja doesn't deserve any compassion, understanding, and help because there are other people who are more mature than him? Come on man this comment doesn't help at all.
@SagePerception
Most of what you said was not True.
Nelly the Rapper would look out for Jayson. Jayson said himself he was brought up good and with money.
Ja morant the same way. This is 100% ja just wanting to fit in with a crowd.
These idiots out here thinking cause he young he can't ho to jail or be shot dead in the streets.
That Tatum comparison on point. Both same “around” the same age, yet drastically different levels of maturity.

I’m more referencing when Tatum was the same age as Morant. Plus, generationally they’re the same. Tatum is one example, but how about Haliburton, Luka, Trae and etc. All of them are examples, too, if the Tatum one doesn’t do it for you.
I normally don’t like Perk’s takes, but he’s spot on - “keeping it real for WHO??”
Perk been on tv for a reason. we can laugh and make fun of some of his takes but he brings a whole dif perspectives that i actually enjoy hearing

What is keeping it real ?Im not American and is hear the fraze often but cant relate to it .ty
@@damiana3018 it’s base meaning is being true to oneself and not being influenced by external factors or pressures, but oftentimes takes on the notion of “being cool”, which, ironically, is opposite of the original meaning. That’s what I hate..soon as somebody do something abnormal or make a mistake; they bring up mental health. Everybody don’t suffer from that or has mental health issues. Ja just did something stupid..that’s what he did.
Exactly. Like depression is definitely real but he has all the help in the world. Don't sit here and lecture people with real life problems saying poor guy in a club drinking flashing guns with a 200 mil contract signed.
It is mental health, go check psychologial books. The behaviour he showed the last few weeks, he needs some therapy
Excuses is some people best friend...Let me find my mental health friend
They say it all the time after mass shootings instead of calling it what is murder.

Great take perk. I hope these guys take your advice.
The “better methods of dealing with stress” part is crazy 😂. Is he telling us he was stressed, therefore he wanted to flash a gun while rapping shirtless at a nightclub after a loss?
That was the agent, damage control.
Something could be up where he thinks that flaunting that lifestyle brings him happiness. Meaning something is wrong with his mental health where he relies on acting a fool to feel complete
Exactly!
In all actuality though, when people are trying really hard to look tough or violent, they are scared that someone is coming to get them thats why theyre trying to put a front on of "dont mess with me, im violent" . I think he's paranoid mentally. Doesnt excuse it but definitely ive met people in my life who are full of anxiety and stress and the way they let off steam is try to act hard, because they're scared they will be a target one day.
Both him and his agent are CLOWNS!!!!

I've seen some dumb moves by pro athletes in my day, but I'm usually empathetic because many of them really did come from a rough environment. Never in all my years have I seen a kid go to private school, come from a good family (his father is at every game wearing his jersey!).
Ja is literally trying to escape the NBA and get to the hood. Make it make sense..

It's called hustling backwards and sadly is something that affects mostly African American communities 😢 cause (for the most part) they have embellished and exalted this 'thug life' thing as something to aspire to be, hope he learns and is not too late but I just have a feeling that in this day and age, he might get his shoe deal taken away at the very minimum, remember the Gilbert Arenas situation, so that could be some sort of precedent for what is gonna come for Ja
“Who are you doin it for?”

The way some athletes throw around mental health whenever they mess up or playing bad is so crazy cause it undermines people who are dealing with it for real. Mental health is not a thing you can doubt when someone says they are dealing with it but when Ja doing things that counter his whole point.
D-rose probably thinking what a waste of knees 😂.
“Keep it real fah who!?” 💀🤣🤣
Wow great commentary
Although I am a Grizzlies fan and have admired Ja Morant talent, I believe the Grizzlies should have taken a harder line with him when the first two incidents happened as you could seen than the train wreck that was about to happen. He needs help and to take responsibility for the choices he has made. He needs better mentorship to grow into the leader he needs to be and a better support system around him, that means if his friends or family are not in the same boat they need to get off, I hope he gets it together so he is able to continue to share his talent with the world.
That’s because the whole grizzlies team and coach has issues
The issue with pacers should have gotten him out the league.
@@tommyl3707 I don't agree it's not as simple as that. There are many good things about the Grizzlies organization and their culture, however there are also areas they need to strengthen particularly when you have a young team, they are trying to find a balance between letting them be confident and free in their play but there is a fine line with that when you have alot of young players still maturing.
@@judithhapi687 we all seen the train wreck coming so don’t act like we didn’t see them just play with this young man’s life for a narrative

Perk talking STRAIGHT FACTS.
In some cases, you could say having kids at a young age could help you mature faster as a man. Tatum seems like he went down the right path after having his son. Ja Morant has a daughter, so you would think he would slow down a little bit, but I think his pops enables him to act a fool, but what do I know...
Mental health is a cop out for real, that’s just stupidity and youthfulness. Ja needs to grow up and cut those idiots around him.

Not that im for this, but you'd think Nike would remove Ja from their endorsements like they did Kyrie since Ja did something way worse than posting a link to a subjectively hateful movie, right?
let’s be real, the contract situation with nike (he would’ve been a shoe FA in a couple of months anyway) and the fact that he criticized the work on his last shoes made it easy for nike to get rid of him. i don’t think they’ll drop him
I'm not throwing hate on Ja but I think Kyrie being treated wrongly once it come to the media n this league
@@crisomii Whether Kyrie criticized them or not, that wasnt the reason they let go of him & replaced him wif Ja. It was cause of a post that was so supposedly so harmful that Nike couldnt bare to have someone that would post such a hateful thing represent them. Well, do they represent shirtless athletes thuggin it out wif a gun at a nightclub? If not i would expect them to drop Ja. Just basing this assumptions according to what their standards are suppose to be
I don't think they would but if they did everyone would say that they are racist.
This aint got nothing to do with Kyrie.
I am very surprised they didn't scrutinize him. I am very glad they touched on mental health because people act out in many ways for help, Ja may not have anyone in his circle he can talk to or trust.
Then he simply doesn't have a good support system around him and that is 100% on him
Preach OG Perk 🏀🐐

So because of Ja and a handful of other players, young black kids aren't going to get the same opportunities in the NBA. Weed also apparently makes you do criminal things. This is classic ignorant comments, instead of keeping it with this one person and how they messed up.
Perk validated his street cred when he brought up Black N Milds 😆
The only way Ja will survive this is for him to disassociate himself from the bad company that he is keeping.
That’s going to be difficult for him. I don’t think that he can or will. Street loyalty to your “boys” is strong.
My fear is he’s in too deep.
I disagree. Blaming the people he hangs around kinda absolves him of accountability. Nobody put a gun to his head and made him do this.
Good JA has friends who make him look like idiot
Why are we keep saying that it's his "bad company" is the source of this? Many people grow up in bad neighborhoods or had not so great friends with positive influence but grow up fine. Better yet, this dude has the bank to set him apart if needed with the money he's got or get some smart, mature people with brains to surround himself with if he really can't think and make decisions on his own. Blame is 100% on him. Not on his friends and not on his "mental health issues".
If anything, it is Ja who wanted and formed that company he has now. He has the money and he is the boss. Not even his father can control him.
Someone like him doesn’t even need a gat he’s well protected. The private school gangsta.

People don't realize these are Ja decisions. These aren't happening by accident. He wants it to. He wasn't forced to go to the strip club. He wasn't forced to fight the 17 year old. He wanted to.
