I just tested my Conflict II 7000LC in Hawaiian waters. I was impressed with its overall operation. I defentlty got more distance then before. I used it on a 14' pole filled with a backing of 30lb test braided then finished it with 10lb test braided. With this real I'm getting about 20 yards more of distance then I did with my 6500ss Spinfisher. I'm averaging about 150yards maybe more. The line rips off the spool with no resistance at all. The return speed is incredible. Less effort at retrieving. I thought the larger size of the 7000LC would tire me out but it didnt. The reel is lighter then i expected. I fished with the reel for about 5 hours straight so you can imagine how many casts I made. I washed the reel with a water hose then towel dried. I'm so impress with the reel, I plan on purchasing more. Update: I did buy another Conflict II 7000. Still impressed and happy with it.
I was about to get rid of my 4000 conflict 2. Then I realized, this reel also has a slower oscillation and better line lay compared to the SSV and battle . Great for light tackle fishing.
I love your channel bud. Keep them coming. I have been fishing saltwater my whole life and appreciate the honest reviews before I go drop 150$ of my hard earned money on a reel. Thank you sir.
I just the bought the 7000LC only because it will give me an additional 20-30 yards casting distance. Well that's what I was told. I have friends that have these conflict reels and they dont have any problems with it when it gets wet. I bought it for $150 I will see how it performs and react when It gets wet after washing it down.
I picked up the Spinfisher VI Long Cast 6500 I threw the slammer III handle on it and I'm pretty happy with that setup I mainly fish long island ocean and inshore works great when the stripers are hitting
The conflict ll is a great reel for people who have injury.I have 4 and fish only freshwater with them. Not suitable as a sealed real especially in saltwater if you get it wet a lot.I have bunches of penn reels,l love the spinfisher v. (bad english sorry) I got an used Conflict 3000. When i tried it at the seller it looked new and worked good. 1st try at the shore; when i turn i feel like the rotor hits something slightly every turn of the handle. What can this be? I also had the Penn Sargus 4000, this one gone bad i dont know how to explain, when i drag a fish it has become very heavy. My Shimano Alivio 4000, also used one for 20 euros, i have it now for years and i fish 3x a week. Nothing changed on this reel. Smooth as hell. I love it. I wonder how a Shimano Stella would be (way too expensive) ?!?!?
I saw the conflict ll is starting to come down in price. What are your thoughts about buying older model reels? I'm looking for a reel (4000 size) that's for the boat mostly maybe some inshore up in New York. I just saw the Penn Pursuit 4 came out.
The 2500 series have a faulty line roller system to fix this you can buy a bearings to replace the bushing, i used a roller bearings from a okuma trio 30 fits directly on the 2500 conflict you will also need a those nylon spacers to stop it moving sideways if you don't do this good bye to your nice braid and say hello to a damaged roller, if using mono line you don't need to upgrade

I bought the 4000 lc . I fish a dam that boats are not allowed so casting 350 to 400 ft is a must . I catch a lot of 20lb (on average ) stripe bass in heavy current . I really hope it dose not feel flimsy :( . Now I’m worried .
I just bought a conflict 2 and I feel I should bring it back! I wanted a Shimano, there are none to be had! I always rinse my rod and reels will the hose before putting them away. The sales man at “ Bass Pro shop” said, he was told you can dunk them in water. Really? It’s September 2020, I wounded if they made some improvements.
Completely agree with your thoughts mate! I’m from Australia and only bought one as my old reel seized as we were getting set up and wasn’t at home to swap out for another of my own but I was lucky enough to only have to pay $130 AUD converts to $92.20 USD so understandable you feel that way after paying that much for the reel. Went well on its first night catching a 7.05 lb Teraglin and a 8.77 lb jewfish using a trusty Abu Garcia Veritas travel rod so I wasn’t the most unhappy about my conflict purchase than others. Thanks for the vids! Cheers Glenno!
thanks for watching the video bro. sounds like an awesome trip ive seen videos about that species. hopefully one day i can make it out there. i hope you are a subscriber with notifications on we just uploaded a battle iii reveiw video and we are giving it away to one of our subs
I appreciate your stance about RUclips reviews being paid for by the companies who give the stuff away. Your luck with this Conflict is the same luck I have had with every shitmano I've ever bought, all of them being upper end too. I agree with you that the Spinfisher V is a workhorse but you've said you think the VI isn't. But you don't have one, your brother does. You don't have it there to compare. You say the Conflict isn't smooth but then say you didn't bother opening it up to maintain it! Maybe you should. The fall hit the reel just right and the rotor and body got torqued. I had a Stradic CI4 that turned into a ten dollar Zebco after a 5lb. Red on 10lb. Braid torqued the rotor arms. That's why I now stick to 1970's Ambassadeurs. Nothing hurts them, they never die, a monkey can fix them and the fishing fashion police hate seeing you fish with them. Anyway love your philosophy about your channel being the common sense man's channel. You won me as a subscriber. How about some lure comparisons.
@@SlotCityFishing it seems like the Chinese made Zara Spooks are getting prone to breaking cracking at the wires and the rattles sticking when almost new. How about seeing their guts compared to mirrolure and yozuri's?
You hit the nail on the head, I fished Jupiter Inlet and after 1 time of fishing and getting splashed on that day and a fresh water rinse, it was never the same !!
Dude freshwater just buy a cheap one! I don’t own a single reel that is over $175 I do t think it’s worth it. If I were you I’d buy a shimano Sahara. Really cheap and it will do anything you need freshwater unless you are fishing for giant catfish or sturgeon or something.
This reel is overkill for fresh water, but it would be great. I would recommend something much smaller for freshwater. Hope you subscribed to the channel.
Great review! I've had my CFTII1000 just over a year now, and as far as I'm concerned, I really wouldn't recommend it to my friends. The bale started to close on me mid-cast, I get wind-knots all the time, and after service the reel gets sluggish very fast. The reel is light, but that just isn't enough. I also have found there to be some play in the reel, and figured out that it comes from the fact that the clutch isn't firmly seated. Maybe I'll try to fill some of the gaps with some chemical metal one day.
i took notes actually so thank you very much. All things in perspective, in number order how would you or any viewer who reads this put these in order of how you added the content on? Conflict ll, spinfisher 5, shimano sustained, battle ll, slammer 3, shimano cf4plus. Thank you i'm subscribed
For inshore fishing it’s tough to beat the battle 2 in a 2000 or 2500 size. Great bang for buck. I have the original conflict for years with no issues whatsoever and I also primarily kayak fishing. I don’t even really clean them just freshwater rinse after use. It’s tough to hear you being critical of a reel you’ve put in salt and fell on top of and never cleaned. I’d rather buy a cheaper reel and spend the extra money on a nicer rod IMHO though. Good review and content. Will sub

The reel is for a st croix trout series in 1.80m . Thant you very much for your super video.
Fire Games 19346 that conflict 1 I prefer over the conflict II more rugged longer lasting reel. I’m a total noob my coworker gifted me a 7” penn slammer rod with a pen sargus 6000 reel, What you guys think of my set up? Not bad for free .99 lol I think the rod is a bit week for that reel, thinking of buying a new reel and rod to set them at their max performance. What penn reel would you slap to that rod and what rod would you slap to that reel ? Btw I will be doing pier fishing only thanks in advance guys.
La Chencha man honestly I’d say give what you got a try. We have a lot of really cheap setups that we love. Some of my best catches and memories were on cheap Walmart gear. Use that dude first then see how it goes. For a good rod the penn battalion is killer pier fishing is get a 9’ and you can surf fish with it too.

Hi man! Nice to see a honest review. I have had Stradic CI4+ one year. Smooth and great reel, but after a year of fishing in freshwater this reel sounds really bad. What's up man. I'm going to watch this. I'm out of Jax as well. Reel Savage Fishing. My brother and I started a team we mainly fish inshore. I have a Jackson Cuda 14ft. We should link up sometime. Find us on FB we have a team page and a fishing page.

That’s not a bad deal at all for that reel! If your fishing for inshore species I’d say go for it. Try it out if you don’t like it you can flip it and profit. Just because I had a bad experience don’t let that discourage you from trying new things! Thank you for watching our vids!

have you re-watched this vid ? count how many times you said "man" lmao. my stradics have that same amount of play..if there was no play , the reel would lock up under a load.
Flatzout no this reels gear have play now. I have shimano reels to with hardly any slack. This reel is damaged. Yea I do say man a lot man. Thanks for the feedback I’ll work on the frequency of man’s haha.
SlotCityFishing Historically Shimano’s two biggest weaknesses are exterior durability and their atrocious drag systems.... Meanwhile Penn is known for the best spinning reel drag system on the planet. So.... not sure where you were heading with that.
It’s just a carbon washer drag stack man. You can put them in any reel. Exterior durability? What are you doin with your reels that they need superior exterior durability?
SlotCityFishing I have at least a dozen mid to high-end Shimano reels with broken frames/shafts/bails. When I spend $200++ for a reel, I actually want it to last longer than a year.... hence the durability.

Yea I have 2 now. Great reels check out our new stuff bro
Good a review bro... I keep always watching your chanel man..
+Heri Bewox awesome thanks for watching! If you haven’t already subscribe bro! We are always doin new content!
Great review! Just subbed. and how much did u get the shmanio for?
CrumpyFish the sustain? $60
Solid review and learned a few things! Did the play get fixed after the reel was prof. done?
i did it myself and its still a little loose but its alright. thanks for the compliments! tight lines.
I love my penn clash, very good reel
I need order one myself thanks for watching the vids dude.
wich size is it?
4000 size thanks for watching hope you subscribed
Joe L do you use the 3500 SSv for plastics
no i use this same conflict. you want a light reel for that. thanks for watching a sub to the channel with notifications youll see all the new gear im using and be entered for giveaways.
Would you recommend this I only fish fresh water trout
Yea for sure! What are you using now?
Hi man! Nice to see a honest review. I have had Stradic CI4+ one year. Smooth and great reel, but after a year of fishing in freshwater this reel sounds really bad. I will leave it on warranty and see what tyey will say. I wanted to buy a conflict but after your review i have changed my mind. Take care.
+BLEED TO DEATH yea man I’d get something else.
The conflict is a cheaper version of the clash. The clash is what you should have got for a lil bit more money.
Yea I shoulda got that
New sub! Liking the reviews! Thinking I'm gonna go ahead and go shimano and just spend the extra to get the extra if you know what I mean thanks for the review
sMFq11 yea dude get shimano Sahara or NASci much better reels.
For the money.
@@SlotCityFishing thanks man I appreciate the input
No doubt bro thanks for the sub. Tell your homies haha. If you got any other question let me know I’ll give you a no BS answer. We are pretty much anti fishing industry just fun for us.
Hi, I don't speak English, give me a conclusion, is this reel good or bad? I fish in fresh water, thanks
good. thanks for watching.
The penn conflict 2 has sealed bearings. I agreee that the battle 2 is a way better bargain. Also the Daiwa Fuegos are hard to beat for the price.
Yea those are nice thanks for watching hope you subscribed
Great Job on the review
HookdRR thanks bro! Appreciate it!
I must of got lucky with my conflict 4000 ive dunked a bunch of times and caught 3 30 plus pound stripers on itand and tried to destroy it but still holding strong its mind blowing to me. I also have a slammer and spinfisher.
How does the conflict compare to the slammer and spinfisher
Nice bro which reel is your favorite?
I thought long cast reels have tall spools
They do
Good review bro . Just subscribed
Thanks dawg check out our new stuff
whats up with the camera not being able to focus?
Donald D haha I had just got that camera at the time. I had the settings wrong. Sorry if it was bad.
Thanks for watching tho
@@SlotCityFishing it's all good. I watched as much as I could but I got the jist of things
wonder what the battle2 is like after 3 years
Addik Otter I can make that vid if you want
Short answer is i still use everyday.
@@SlotCityFishing if you have the time, the most used tear down has been only 6 months
Man I’ve have mine for 2 years and I bought it used and it was neat to Hell when I got it. Yea man I’ll do that for ya.
Damn it I just bought it lol but I only paid 100 for it new on eBay. You think $100.00 is a good deal on it?
GlockMasterAlex yea totally and if it makes u feel any better I still use that reel
SlotCityFishing sweet sounds good can’t wait to try it
Penn conflict 2 or stradic fk?
similar reels. id say if you got the coin get the stradic. thanks for watching our content and sub to the channel with notifications we are always doin new review videos.
Great review!
Thanks dawg check out our new vids!!!
I like the review, very honest and plenty of time on the reel it sounds like, but you mention your money can go a long way if you shop smart? You paid $170 for a reel that you can get for $120 from several sporting goods stores on ebay...
Yikes……. Looks like I got ripped lol. Thanks for watching. Hope you’re a subscriber there’s a lot of great new content in the channel
Y’all should try the Tsunami Shield sealed reel. I’d love to hear a review about it.
Yea i still need to try that reel
Check out our new vids hro
*bro
Thank you. I've had 3 Battle 2 lc 7000s and I was thinking of buying as pair of Conflicts, now, i won't.
Why
What's up man. I'm going to watch this. I'm out of Jax as well. Reel Savage Fishing. My brother and I started a team we mainly fish inshore. I have a Jackson Cuda 14ft. We should link up sometime. Find us on FB we have a team page and a fishing page.
How’s the team goin man we live in Pensacola now
You got fans from malaysia dude...
awesome bro. I hope you are a sub to the channel with notifications on we are about to hit a big 10k sub giveaway and recently did a penn battle 3 reel review where we giveaway the reel. tight lines bro.
For me Penn are the best. I was fan Shimano until I meet Penn 😊✌️
I like Penn too hope you’re a subscriber
@@SlotCityFishing I i-am subscriber
Thanks!
Absolutely what did you end up getting?
Thanks for the (not sponserd) review you've got yourself a new subscriber ;). I can get the for 70 dollar a used penn conflict 2 2000. Should i buy it or not?
That’s not a bad deal at all for that reel! If your fishing for inshore species I’d say go for it. Try it out if you don’t like it you can flip it and profit. Just because I had a bad experience don’t let that discourage you from trying new things! Thank you for watching our vids!
*iiii
Nice review
Thanks dawg check out our new videos
7+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearing system
Yea it’s a good deal
Just subbed
Nice bro
Isn't it ironic that a Sustain FD sh*ts on today's newer offerings...
Isn't it ironic...
Yep
Thank you...no recoment reel penn conflict
Thanks hope you subscribed
Just had my second Conflict II crap out. I believe I'm done with Penn. Kayak fisherman btw.
+Capefearcapt nah man it’s just the conflict II. I love penn reels.
I think penn fierce is better than conflict not very impressed for $150 reel. Conflict was reel stiff and had a slow reaction
Yep and they are way more expensive now
The reel is a TURD ! I was given one and can't stand it, I can feel the gears meshing. Not recommended.
Sheesh. What do you recommend?
arent the bearing sealed on the conflict 2 ?
Rylka B.a yea “sealed” they will still seize if they get wet
Awesome vid man very helpful. I live and die by Penn and the Spinfishers are nothing but tanks man hold up to damn near everything sand, water, all around abuse. I have to put my Conflict 2 to use soon.
tun thanks brotha. I have a few more reel vids comin up.
your auto focus keeps shifting in your camera from the background to foreground, you need to fix that
Alexei Pavlov I did bro haha. Thanks this was a long time ago.
Love criticism bro glad I saw this vid thank you keep on doing your thing
Thanks bro
Daiwa BG Magsealed smashes the conflict n battle out the water!!Once u go to daiwa u will never look back!!
Just like how people say "once you go black you never go back" and Micheal Jackson broke the theory
I went daiwa and went right back to Shimano because of the ballistic lt
Woah Tay mr jacket even Sang those lyrics,it doesn’t matter if ur black or white, well it clearly did to him🤣also what went wrong with the ballistic for u??no word of a lie my wife brought me the 3000 ballistic LT yesterday😮
Yea I gotta check them out
The 3000 has 15 pounds of drag, your throwing numbers out not knowing what your saying so look at the specs of the reel before you even say anything
Victor Fanjul you missed the whole point of this vid. Cheers brotha.
have you re-watched this vid ? count how many times you said "man" lmao. my stradics have that same amount of play..if there was no play , the reel would lock up under a load.
Flatzout no this reels gear have play now. I have shimano reels to with hardly any slack. This reel is damaged. Yea I do say man a lot man. Thanks for the feedback I’ll work on the frequency of man’s haha.
I dont buy anything no more from Penn and Mitchell.
Why?
@@SlotCityFishing you ask why after two years?? Because almost everything I had from Penn and Mitchell broke or doesnt work properly after short time.
Makes since

Dude, I couldn’t get through this review basically made every mistake you could have. No thanks
Sorry my free opinions weren’t to your standards. Tight lines brother.
too much talk without substance. it's painful to listen to you speak. does this video really need to be 20 mins long? brutal vid.
Well you don’t gotta watch it. Thanks for the feedback tho I’ll work on it
@@SlotCityFishing there's potential. focus on being concise. sorry if i came off as an asshole. you're not a bad guy. I have a short fuse.
@@M.Redsky thanks
A NEW Sustain is a better reel, but not that antique you just flashed. Penn reels will ALWAYS outlast anything made by Shimano.
The Blake that sustain is lighter smoother with better drag (upgraded to carbon). I prefer it over all my penn reels. Just my opinion.
