    The Cat transportation from Outpost is $20 instead of the $10 mentioned in the video with credit card. The trail is well groomed so the hike isn't too bad and takes about 45min to the top of Bergman/Erickson. We remember taking the Cat from Outback when it was $5.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  4 года назад +1

      Keystone is proposing a new lift to replace the Cat transportation to the top of Bergman. Will be nice to access the alpine bowls via lift.

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz 3 года назад

      @@snowboardtraveler the 10 dollar which is 20 is in the back in the outback.
      .the new lift will not replace that. The private kat riding will be back on independence and might not be replaced when the new lift goes in. We shall see.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 года назад

      Seems like they move the cat around. Last year there was no cat on outback, it had moved to Bergman for $20. When the lift goes in they will likely move it to independence in place of hike-out until the long range plan of an independence lift is approved.

    ...Just before the virus hit..... I was fortunate enough to get 43 days in before they closed on March 15. It is a great place to ride.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  4 года назад

      That's a decent number of days for the season at least. I was riding there on the last day too and didnt think it would be closed the next day.
      What do you think of the new proposed chair lift up Bergman Bowl from North Peak? Beats hiking but might ruin it a bit. It includes some glading in Erickson Bowl which would be nice as those trees are tight.

    You can not cut over from schoolmarm to area 51. You have to go down to peru lift than back up to "area 51" not a51.
    Hope that helps clear that up.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 года назад +1

      Yes A51 is completely roped off from schoolmarm now and ski patrol is monitoring so you’ll have to ride down to Peru. It’s labeled A51 on the trail map.

    Thanks so much for this review. In normal non- Covid times, is it pretty crowded at this resort during weekdays (Mon - Fri) compared to other resorts you two have been to?

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 года назад +2

      Keystone is not very crowded on weekdays compared to nearby Breck or Vail. It is fairly large in size so although the first mountain could seem busy, once you go further back to the other two mountains it is not very crowded. Exceptions could be the usual holiday weeks (presidents, MLK, spring break).

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz 3 года назад +2

      This resort gets pretty crowded or this year during the rona its packed. I live 4 miles from there. Many people from Denver go here more since its an exit before breck and closer.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 года назад +1

      We can't wait for the season to start! Both are great resorts. Keystone has more friendly runs and Copper can skew more challenging. Not that there will be much nightlife this year but Keystone has a little more to their base area for restaurants. Keystone is on epic pass and you can use the same pass over at Breckenridge if you want to do the 30 min drive to get in another resort and also have a more ski town feel with downtown apres activities.

      There are a couple gear rental places in keystone village like christy sports or Mountain View sports has a kids rent free on off peak times. You will need to buy lift tickets to snowboard at keystone. The only free option is for kids 12 and under if you book 2 nights lodging with the resort.
