- 👋 Hi! Welcome to my small channel - Cape Breton Beach Life!
🏖️ Today you and me, we’re going to… MAIN-A-DIEU BEACH. ⛱️
⏰ABOUT THIS BEACH - This incredible beach is a 36 minute drive from the Big Fiddle in Sydney Nova Scotia. I'll talk about how to get there, what to expect then you arrive, the parking situation, who owns the beach, if there are change rooms, if there is lifeguard service, if there is cell phone reception, I might mention nearby food spots or gas stations. I'll talk about the boardwalk and Scatarie Island. 🏊♀️
👍 Thanks for watching. If you'd like to see more of my videos, please subscribe.
📺 ABOUT THIS CHANNEL - In 2023 I decided it would be fun to try to visit all the beaches on Cape Breton Island. I read somewhere there are around 80. I don’t know how long this will take - I’m just gonna go one by one.

Another wonderful video in this excellent series. Your videos are as beautiful as they are informative.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the encouraging words. I’m learning lots as I go along. I’m currently editing my next video on Gabarus Beach, so that should uploaded later this week. Thanks again for the comment.
The board walk did use to have change rooms and bathrooms. There also used to be a walk-through lobster trap. If I remember correctly it’s was built in 94 by the community members. I grew up in the house on the top part of the board walk
A walk-through lobster trap, I would have liked to see that! Neat!
Lovely video! My grandmother lived across the street from Min-A-Dieu Beach. I spent a lot of time playing there with my cousins while visiting on family vacations, I was raised in Ontario. I shared your video on my Facebook, and I'm sure we will get an answer as to who built the boardwalk soon. :)
Fantastic! Thank you so much!
@@CapeBretonBeachLife That was quick. My cousin Darlene thinks it was built by the fish plant workers after the National Sea plant closed.
Yes, you’re right, that was fast… wow thank you for digging that up for me! Interesting.
@@CapeBretonBeachLife my Cousin Geneva says the fish plant workers recieved a government grant to build it. She didn't say if it was provincial or federal. Thought I would leave that for you to dig up. 😊
