Really great informative vid mate. How do I actually study for zoom tables? Pre and postflop play? How do I actually learn how to make the +Ev decisions?
No short answer I’m afraid, my best advice would be to watch as much content by better players than yourself and implement the strategies they use that you understand :)
I’d also like to add, try and be a part of a group of motivated and studious peers. Learn what effective study looks like, and plan to do it regularly. And then also be hyper critical of your own play and seek feedback from strong players. The RUn it once forums are good for this, as well as discord groups if you manage to start a good one with smart players, or join one with solid players. Best
I dont like your jam with KK @4:14. If he has two pair/sets, he will check jam that board. I'd prefer a smaller size as it gives him room to operate. I might size up ever so slightly on the turn. Thoughts?
Yeah I’m not sure about this one, my thoughts were pretty basic, along the lines of ‘fish like to bluffcatch polarised bets so I’m going to jam’. Not the most nuanced approach you’re right, but I think it’s ok.
So I’ve changed my BR management for 500 to be less aggressive than prior stakes, maybe to the point of BR nitiness, but don’t want to publicly disclose exactly :)
28:31 - KJs - i get the idea of flatting to keep in the recs - but you could squeeze and pressure the cold calling rec wide range. you can also get the initial raiser to fold stuff like KQ/AJ and get the pot heads up with the cold calling rec in between. I think I prefer to still squeeze, as you open door for squeezes behind as well. id be more open for flatting if the recs were in the blinds or hadnt cold called already. Do you strongly disagree with this for any reason? I just really dislike flatting here. im playing 50/100 and even there get squeezed quite often, so can only imagine its a bit more prevalent here. The only sticking point I see is the CC is 45bb, so having a bigger spr is nice.
Definitely don’t strongly lean either way, you could count the times I’ve flatted the CO in the past year on one hand! If the fish didn’t both have such loose PF stats no chance I do it. Also UTG will 4b aggressively given the dynamic with the whale flatting and wed just have to fold. No idea what’s actually higher EV there
what kind of range do you assign the bttn 5b jam after you cold 4b? I know the JJ is close, but it's possible to fold it there. Against a range of JJ+/AK, AQs, you have about a break even call based on the price you're getting. if he flats some AKo/AQs preflop, it starts to be losing. But, I guess Bttn will flat AA at some FQ which does help out our equity a bit. I guess it's prob too close in this pool if they pure 5bJ AK+/JJ+ and randomize some A5s/AQs. I would be folding it in 50-100nl pools though I think.(rake being higher, and 5b jam prob being too imbalanced towards nuts)
19:48 "probably the 9 of hearts + can go 2/3 for value" so, u dont ben anything lower than 9h ? What about higher flushes, like :ah, :kh - do the mix between overbet and 2/3? thanks
Blocking bluffs, 2 outs vs value, reverse implied odds vs a fair few of his bluffs on those 2 outs, and facing a near 2x pot bluff I think it’s actually a clear fold. Much better to call a hand like K4.
@@kal2c622 The video claims to be "500 Zoom VS OtB-RedBaron" but on this particular hand, it looks like to me that you're looking for a reason TO AVOID playing OtB-RedBaron! You know better than me that he could (and probably would) go for stealing on the turn after flop check-check (no surprise choosing an overbet) and his range wouldn't be pure value, I bet he's good enough to have all different draws & lower pairs & over cards & bluffs there, assuming you missed the flop. And I'm not saying the flop check back is wrong but when you take that line on T high flop it mainly couldn't be a fold on the turn (another low card), especially because of disguising our strength hand by choosing a trappy/passive line. First I thought you're going for pot control+ trap & taking value by letting him bluff but then I felt you're searching for all reason to fold there, thinking to all monsters that he may randomly have on BB and strangely flat preflop. Come on man, there's just ONE overcard! Glgl
Thats One Off few hands he played perfect imo... Playing ospeil888 and otbredbaron 🤣 far from their level but Good shot take, agree that this pool look weaker then normal.
Baron hops in the pool about halfway through FYI :)
First hand with Baron: 37:04

I was scared of the Baron and I wasn't even playing him xD
Loving these videos man! Thanks for sharing ❤️

Nice vid! Thanks for the content. :)
How much Bankroll Management do you use for 500NL!!

Probably 20k$ to shot

I think it’s just a call with these positions in an aggressive pool, vs earlier positions we can definitely consider folding
What is your random generator called
How do you analyze that 3way spot at the end? What was the result?
@kal2c mind if I ask what your bank roll management strat is ? 30 buying?
It’s pretty fluid given I work full time. I just play whatever game I feel comfortable playing in and that I think I have the biggest hourly.
you are very good bro

Yes to both questions :) Though Kh+ will mix into smaller size lowish freq to protect that range

Best poker player i've ever seen and I've seen some shit
You need to watch some other players ;)
Thanks for the kind words!
What tag does Jarretman have??
Don’t think I’ve played him, but he’d be red (Top Reg)
do you even range bet bro?
I've never seen such a conservative/scared play by a player at your level, holding such a strong pair on a safe board like this 43:38
