I agree with the Tracer seat. I had a 2019 Tracer 900 GT and found myself sliding forward on it. I replaced the seat with a comfort version which helped but didn't solve it completely. Great series from the bike show. 👍
I have the Tracer 9GT (not plus) that comes with the luggage. With the seat, you can remove the spacer at the front between the tank and the seat is then perfect. CP3 engine, sports tourer with luggage is brilliant for me.
Hiya Another good video 👍 I’d have to agree with you regarding all the electronics on bikes now. I have an 05 speed triple and a mint condition 1997 Blackbird for two up touring. All the new bikes I see honestly don’t interest me at all. Full of various gizmos that are 99,9% of the time … unused and unwanted. I think the bike companies should go back to simpler times. Maybe start doing surveys on what people actually want from a bike instead of developing new gadgets and trying to convince us all it’s what we need. Bikes used to have their own personality about them even in regards to the dashboard layout…. Now no matter what you buy you get an iPad for an instrument panel making them all very much the same. I did look at an Africa Twin as I had the original version, and also a Transalp, but to be honest the faff at simply taking the air filter out and replacing it put me off. Take the dashboard clocks off to clean or replace an air filter 😂 No thanks. I think a lot of people have the view these days that all these new gadgets is just more to go wrong and harder …or impossible…to fix at the roadside.
@steviejinx1225 I'm with you. 👍👍 ABS & possibly cruise control. The rest they can keep. Part of the joy and skill of riding a motorcycle is control. You learn throttle control on something like a Blackbird, you know not to whack the throttle open mid corner because you know what will happen. I think it's part of the problem with KTM. Too many electronics throwing up issues and warnings. People just don't trust these super complex systems to be reliable.
@@Banditmanuk I had a new carb. Blackbird in 1997 and an injection one in 2005. With just 19mm bar risers. I went all over Europe with both mine and only sold my last one, when I fell in love with an MT10! A modern day love story for a 73 year old.
Back in the day, when I were a lad and the dead sea just felt a little unwell, going on a benda was going out and having far too many drinks. I like a TFT screen because it can give layout options (admittedly never changed once set) and lots of info such as fuel consumed, volts, time, average, mpg, miles to empty, temperature, trip counters, etc, etc, etc. As for the rest of the electronics, thanks but no thanks. As long as they produce a base model at a decent price I'm happy. As for riding modes for anything under 130/140 bhp....🤦.
Firstly, I think we shoulda just had Carol as 5ft 7, and drop the word tall 🤣🤣 Some brand names I've never heard of making an appearance everywhere these days. Benda? We'll leave that there🫤 And I agree with Carol, ignore the Chinese bikes at our peril, they're here to stay and getting better by the day. Great video again, thank you
@tojj29 Yes perhaps. She's not tall but taller than the average woman Chinese bikes could take over as some big names drop by the wayside. Still not sure I would be happy riding a Benda Thanks for watching 👍
Great vid again , wouldnt buy a chinese bike if you paid me the materials are utterly sub-standard love to see the state of them after they had been on the road for a couple of years if they last that long
@stevenwilliams-mp5wo Interesting hearing all the different opinions in the comments regarding Chinese bikes. Personally, I think they are getting better and better. Only time is going to tell if they will gain market share
A bonus video Richard and Carol. Carol said about Chinese bikes. You ignore them at your peril. I think it's exactly the opposite. You buy them at your peril. They may appear all bright and shiny in the show, but underneath they are poor in quality and reliability. Look at what has happened to KTM after getting involved with the Chinese? Why can you not sell a new Model BSA Gold Star? They sell cheap items and it destroys the Western World's industry and then they have the monopoly. These bikes are the equivalent of the Trojan Horse. As you know, I have a few bikes, but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
@RichardASK Lots of people feel that way Richard. Only time will. Some western motorcycle companies had forgotten what a value for money motorcycle was. The Chinese are forcing them to look again at value for money. Unfortunately, KTM went down the high-tech electronics route and gave us overpriced unreliable bikes. It's only a matter of time before we're all banned from buying ICE powered bikes anyway. Look what's happening in the car industry with the likes of Jaguar. Sad times.
I wish Moto GB success with the bikes they're importing. They might want to work on some of the names 😂 unless they're targeting specific sections of the market...
Richard I have to completely agree with you on the electronic on bike these days I would just never use them so for me keep it simple is where it's at .Benda well the name might not be great but the bikes certainly look interesting the chinese are here and they mean business just as the Japanese did way back in the 60/70s and everybody said they were rubbish too .😉Nice one guys 👍
@crumblymal8479 Yep, the rise of the Chinese and unfortunately some big Western brands like KTM might fall as they are undercut on price and reliability
@@Banditmanuk I wouldn't be surprised if KTM was taken over by the Chinese, especially as they're already building 790's and using engines in some of their bikes.
Who'd want to sit on a Benda Chinchilla? The names need a rethink for sure 😂. I think the Suzuki Gsx1000gx might suit you, Richard? If only Yamaha built an mt10 tracer. Regarding electronics, my Street rs is in sport mode, and there is no reason for me to change it. I used road mode until the first service only. Modes are pointless on most bikes for most riders.
Parts of my partners Keeway V Cruise are badged Benda so Im going to take a punt it will be branded Keeway in the UK and not Benda lol x Oh and there isnt anything wrong with her V Cruise no signs of any rust at nearly 2 years old good value cruiser
The Suzuki GX has way more stuff on than I need and unfortunately I just don't like the seating position. An MT10 Tracer would be nice but I don't think the in line 4 cross-plane engine is going to be around much longer sadly.
For me it isn't the quality of Chinese motorcycles it is the fact what the Chinese government does with money to their neighbors. Not to mention they do with their workers to get those prices. I'll pay extra for non Chinese bikes and sleep well knowing where my money didn’t go.
@flatcapcaferacer I completely get that. The trouble is most consumable non food goods we buy here are made in China. Even if we don't buy the big ticket items, it's difficult to avoid buying Chinese made goods.
@@BanditmanukI think we are all in the same boat for items no longer made in our own countries. To me the difference is we still have a choice on motorcycles. Eventually we will have to start manufacturing again in our own countries. When we become totally dependent on an aggressive country eventally they will withhold those goods if our governments disagree over something like what Russia invasion did with Ukraine .
I didn't like the look of my MT10 initially. Once ridden I loved the way it went. It's been super reliable so I'll take that over Italian looks. Yamaha could definitely use a different design house

@bikerbuddy3166 I think you've summed the situation up perfectly. Lots of people in the comments are still in denial about the rise of Chinese motorcycles. It's definitely happening, and there's going to be casualties in the traditional sector.
