EXILES, I of course love support for my Path of Exile 3.25 Bleed Lacerate Gladiator build, but I was upfront about it not being a guide and just a loose starter video. If you want a REAL, RIDICULOUSLY GOOD guide on starting with this skill, this dude, ronarray, has you covered HOLY... ruclips.net/video/Xsgx58XIxuQ/видео.htmlsi=XXuejmOFRFXtxCiv Go show him some love. It's amazing.
Couple of things: 1. You're better off going Jagged Technique + Volatility + Ryslatha which esentially makes you hunt for the biggest bleed and gives you more bleed dps. 2. Rage does nothing for bleed. 3. War Banner is no longer an aura, you're better off going Flesh and Stone while using Sand Stance for less damage taken from nearby enemies.
I've been looking at all changes and decided to league start with bleed Gladiator too, although my own version using Kinetic Blast + Corrupting Fever (with Poet's pen). Good to see there's great content creator who would do something similar to watch during my breaks and attempts at occasional sleep!
Either this, or SST bleed will probably be my league starter. Gladiator was my absolute favorite ascendency back in a day, and I'm a big block & bleed enjoyer, so this fits my power fantasy perfectly. I do, however, have some concerns and ideas, that I intend to toy with (namely solving weak DoT mitigation, perhaps even squeezing another aura or some lucky suppression, or even trying to include one of those new retaliation skills, just to spice things up).
SST bleed on gladiator is fine if you don't use Emperor's Vigilance. Glancing blows feels bad on gladiator, as your block becomes way over capped and no longer provides 100% damage prevention
I was looking at SST as well, but it seems hard to scale. Are you going crit with perfect agony? SST seems difficult to get 100% crit rate on. I'd love to try it.
@@knaz7468 Not sure yet. Crit + PA SST seems like a viable end game option, but PA for sure will not be doable at the league start, as it will require a big currency investment. I will potentially start lacerate and see how that goes, as that should work with literally next to no gear, abd should be able to easily carry me through atlas completion and at least the first two stones on not much more than a couple of hundreds of chaos orbs. Then I might consider switching to SST, once I secure a good shield and a pair of those ritual gloves, and try and get that going (working towards crit + PA setup), as SST should probably have a higher ceiling than lacerate, at least for a map clear speed.
I've even been toying with the idea of trying some chain hook memes for the campaign. What's nice is block will mostly solve defense, and there are plenty of viable 1h attacks or even shield attacks to mess around with which all use very similar if not identical trees. I just want those 20% monster life bleed explosions. Sounds like a hoot. Sad that automated reckoning is dead, I played max block facebreaker cyclone for more leagues than I care to remember, getting the reckoning from the surrender to hit for 3 million+ and just AFKing anywhere was always a good time
Nice build. Always loved Lacetate so might try it out. Can even switch to skills like Bladestorm, Splitting Steel etc is needed. Have a great league gamer!
Yoo, thumbs up for embracing any critique on your build I'm also playing Lacerate Bleed Glad and already saw some things like saying it's a bait build I don't really buy into thinking like that. Unless you really want to follow the meta, Lacerate was playable already, but now it's literally better It has better survivability, more bleed nodes, endurance charge buff and more options on ascendancy I think as long as you keep upgrading your weapon, the build will playout just fine
Versitile combatant only helps when you're overcapped on block chance, so not early. You don't need to path that far for mana leech, there is a new mana mastery left down of the duelist start position. It's fine to take Crimson Dance the more attack speed you have. Otherwise you can only inflict one bleed at a time. It might work with aggravated bleed, it just depends on what GGG decides to do with the code. "no extra damage while moving" vs "as though the target was moving"
getting overcapped is going to be incredibly easy if you grab the glad node that makes any shield give 50%. hitting 65/65 doesn't take much investment at all, and lucky block makes that effectively 87% or so.
Im on the fence with crimson dance. My setup is hitting 2.7ish atks per second without frenzy. Auto aggro bleed without crimson dance is just a chiller and smoother and i dont have to worry alot about bleeds falling off. But crim is tech more damage. To my knowledge aggro bleed is worthless if you run crimson dance. The biggest issue is, attack speed. Anything minus 3.0 atk speed its going to be tough to keep up 8 stacks. And if you cant on avg keep them up while doging attacks, moving, etc. Then imo its best to just run base bleeding with jagged tech. Attrition is nice but realisticly its mainly for bossing and will save you little time even in 16. Though itll def help in T17s. Im going to run without crimson and see how it feels.
Nice build. I'm going to try to put together a glacier hammer jugg. I like big tanky smashy characters. Hoping the melee rework helps me make a build that actually functions past map 1.
It looks very solid in still choosing between this and a slayer due to the endurance charges but if I go this way I’ll try your build for sure! Thanks for sharing!
I think it's worth looking into Ghazzy's video on gladiator and block with the new gladiator nodes before potentially wasting too many nodes on block chance!
Yo I just found something a lot of people are missing. You can use splitting steel with chance to impale for 100% Impale chance, the impale notable (inflicts 5 inpales on hit), and the physical master for 6%dot multi per impale. Not bad for two skill points and two gem slots
great minds think alike this is my league starter also @talkative tri ,my fist melee league start in over 9k hours hope i can get some inspiration and steel some early progression info!! Have a great league start !!
So... I think a mechanic you should be looking to abuse is the farul gloves. Which enables cyclical crimson dance, which stacks with regular bleed. This is like a 100% more multiplier.
You won’t be able to get aggravated bleed with crimson dance. You’re gonna want to use crimson dance with this build because it hits a lot and you get more damage out of 8 stacks of bleed vs 1 aggravated bleed
This only works if you have very high attack speed. If not by the time you get close to 8 bleed stacks the 1 single aggrieved bleed would have killed already. Plus it requires you to be stationary for much longer
You have to take into account damage roll ranges of the individual bleed stacks, which gets exacerbated by stuff like Multistrike, Volatility, and Ryslatha's belt. On top that, CD stacks will fall off more quickly during dodging periods in boss fights. There are cases where CD is better, but you need to hit really really fast. There's a very good mathematical analysis on the path of exile builds subreddit (the mostly non-toxic one)
Heya Great video, was thinking something similar but with the new Retaliation skills involved - we'll see how that goes. One question tho: How come you chose to pick minimum endurance node? Wouldn't endurance on block node be enough for constant upkeep?
Like Mark Said during the stream alot of builds will be effected...so until league day actually starts....who knows what builds will be buffed... nerfed... busted...or just bad....cant wait!!
I'm probably going to league start boneshatter jugg into going molten strike of the zenith with the first 10 or so div. That build has insane base dps and can be scaled into the moon through str stacking
Bleed curses etc. That does have a differnent feel due to DoT. I also suggest feeling that style first. Caise it definitely isnt for everyone. Edit: a good Rythlosa's coil is gonna be expensive this league
@TalkativeTri They just released a FAQ post on the site with a lot of information, and OMG Barkskin is 10% reserve wich sounds really good now. Edit: typo.
I don't understand the purpose of taking neither Crimson Dance nor Jagged Technique and taking War of Attrition. Crimson Dance is up to a 4x multiplier, Jagged Technique is a 3x multiplier vs War of Attrition's 2x multiplier with a 100s ramp. Also, maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't think Rage affects Bleed damage at all, because it's ATTACK damage instead of physical damage.
I mention that in the video...it's a bit confusing to me with Crimson Dance. For Jagged Technique, if I am hitting an enemy enough with fast attacks (like a boss), my bleeds should be Aggravated on them, I think. For Crimson Dance, does it work with Aggravated? I have seen it does and it doesn't. If it DOES, I think I'd take it, but the wording is quite confusing, need to test it in-game. Thanks for the comment/advice, exile!
@@TalkativeTri No, as far as I can tell, Crimson Dance and Aggrevated are mutually exclusive. Aggrevated makes them always be considered moving, but Crimson Dance makes them take no additional damage for moving = no effect. It will be interesting to test to see if the Aggrevated stuff in the tree is reliable enough to make it not worth it to take Jagged Technique. If so, then definitely better to get the extra multiplier from War of Attrition. I've been going back and forth between Crimson Dance and Jagged Technique for a couple days, now. LOL.
@@Takkcinema Seems to me aggravated is really good if you either don't attack very fast (Two handed bleed build) or you are going crit with rupture to have very short duration but very strong bleeds. The crit version I think has way more damage potential but it's not like I calculated any of it.
@@Takkcinema Aggravating a bleed has no effect with Crimson Dance, as there is no extra damage to deal. They just postes Recently Asked Questions on the official site. Lots of cool info there :)
I know I am doing an aggravate bleed gladiator, just don't know which skill I want to use yet, so far I am considering bladestorm/boneshatter combo (one for aoe, the other single target)
I'm about 80% sure that bleed is bait. Bleedbow is just dead, I won't even address it - but melee bleeds... yeah. Theoretically it should be better, yeah? I mean, 20% more weapon damage, that's huge, right? Well, it would be if flat wasn't removed. Flat on gems is a huge thing for one-handed weapon types, and it's gonna be even more important since we won't be able to print insane melee weapons like with Necropolis. So it's actually just 30-50% less damage just there, even more if your weapon is crap. Chances are, that build on PoE ninja that hit DoT cap with bleeds... that won't happen again. They didn't buff bleeds themselves, which was the issue on the high end. People will still use crimson dance for endgame.
I plan to go shield for quick 88/88 block, but also wondering if Jack the Axe + Rigwalds Command would be good combo for dual wield to allow some rage synergy (since otherwise rage does nothing).
Rage does not give attack speed anymore. From the patch notes: Rage now grants 1% more Attack Damage per Rage gained, to a maximum of 30, but no longer inherently grants Attack Speed or Movement Speed. Also, attack damage does not affect bleed damage.
@@sakuya7527 but isn’t bleed based off the initial hit damage? Please correct me if that is wrong because that’s how I interpreted it when reading up on the bleed mechanic
@@alexhoey8641 You are somewhat there but not quite. Bleed DPS is based off your BASE physical damage, and not the initial hit damage. This means attack damage will not be applied to bleed DPS at all (but it will affect the hit damage of your skill). This is why flat phys can increase your bleed DPS (for base phys) while generic %inc phys, dot multi, phys multi, and bleeding damage can also affect bleed DPS (outside of base phys) I have tinkered with it on POB before myself. Try getting some bleed nodes and then adding "500% more attack damage" to your custom modifiers in the configuration tab. Then, look at your MH Hit Damage in the Calcs tab. You will see the application of what I mentioned above.
@@alexhoey8641no. Damage has two parts. Damage with hits, and damage with ailments. Both of these are derived from an initial number, known as base damage. When you take passives that say things like "increased attack damage", "increased spell damage", etc it applies to the hit, as ailments are neither attacks or spells. If you grab things like "increased physical damage", "increased fire damage", etc it applies that scaler to both the hit damage and the ailment damage (bleed/poison, and ignite respectively). Nodes like this are "two for one" nodes. But the damage of your hit does not determine the strength of your damaging ailments, as they are separate calculations that start from the same base number.
i'm quite sure that glad will be a big bait for softcore players. no need for jagged technique as you can get enough chance for aggrevated elsewhere, the explosion is nice, but 5% or 20% doesnt matter with the insane amount of life monsters have. 5% you cna get from hemophilia. only thing it brings to the table is quite some defense via block and a damage ramp, which shouldnt matter for softcore builds.
Attack damage increases the value of bleed stacks that you inflict on enemy, so there is scaling with rage. I feel like rage might be still worth taking on many bleed builds if you invest in it properly - but pure dmg wise the impact of rage seems to be small...
A few times in the video he mentions getting attack speed up with rage. I thought rage was changed to not increase attack speed. Also PoB coming after it updates?
@@TalkativeTriFYI Rage grants 30% more attack damage, not 30% more damage with attack skills. So it will only affect your hit damage (might still be worth it, depending on setup, but probably not super significant unless you go for the Rigwald Axe(?) that gives dot multi per rage)
Sir i didnt see the full video i must admit, why use ruthless when it does not support the skill? Is there a change coming where ruthless will support the skill? I am doing practice runs and its not supporting lacerate. Sorry if im wrong.
Np man, the skill gems/equipment in there is placeholder. I shall update - the POE Planner was MOSTLY for the passive skill tree pathing, I'll get in there and do some gear updates ASAP. Also, yeah, Ruthless is NOT used once you get the other gems mentioned, just for w.e leveling skill you use until Lab 1.
I like staying in game as much as possible and I find it intimidating AND boring. I'd rather do all my stuff in-game. If I was not making content, I would not use it, but because lots of ppl really enjoy it, I shall pain through it :)
@@EdManMarkPerson based on the Q&A answers by GGG. Aggravate applies to all current stacks of bleed. So, if your minions apply bleeding, you can aggravate those. In addition to that, Vulnerability quality now gives % chance to aggravate, so the minions can also aggravate themselves.
I'm gonna experiment with a few of them given the change and that they're just way better for Slams and the like now. Might go Enduring Cry to be SUPER safe in HC.
@@ReggaeTroner172 It's still okay to spend one or two point to get some rage as this build still does some decent initial damage. As long as you can keep it up, it's 30% more damage for one passive. Even if it's 30% more of half of your total DPS, it's still worth. Even if it was only a third if your DPS , it would still be fine for one point.

People will still use crimson dance for endgame.
i am ready to crash
I plan to go shield for quick 88/88 block, but also wondering if Jack the Axe + Rigwalds Command would be good combo for dual wield to allow some rage synergy (since otherwise rage does nothing).
Thanks for the shoutout 😅
Check out the banner and valor nodes, could be better than ascendancy points..?… with investment into them
See you on hc buddy!
Are you looking at Eviscerate and other retaliation skills as well?
YES!
Bro, keep my favorite build as much of a secret as possible 🤫
I can't decide between this, or Frost Blades Warden. Prolly start with this, and if I struggle, then Zish has me covered for Frost Blades.
I was gonna do Ele Hit Warden, but decided on this bc Hardcore. Also, Zish is great!
@@TalkativeTri Yeah he's turned me into a FB degenerate, I've got 3 level 100 FB Tricksters lol.
Ryslatha's Coil is not going to be cheap this league, yikes.
Im pretty sure the rage buff doesnt increase you phys dot damage 😞, only hit
This is why flat phys can increase your bleed DPS (for base phys)
while generic %inc phys, dot multi, phys multi, and bleeding damage can also affect bleed DPS (outside of base phys)
I have tinkered with it on POB before myself.
@@miked94 Thanks for this. This is a more in-depth response.
@@sakuya7527 thanks guys, I appreciate the response. Do you think it’s worth adding impale for the extra dot multi for impales on enemies?
i'm quite sure that glad will be a big bait for softcore players. no need for jagged technique as you can get enough chance for aggrevated elsewhere, the explosion is nice, but 5% or 20% doesnt matter with the insane amount of life monsters have. 5% you cna get from hemophilia.
only thing it brings to the table is quite some defense via block and a damage ramp, which shouldnt matter for softcore builds.
Could be! I would've gone Ele Hit Warden if I was playing Softcore to begin.
why not jagged technique? most people sayin its a top one for damage on a new glad.
I am gonna see how often I aggravate foes with the tech from the Masteries and Tree.
Hey Tri, unfortunately rage will not increase your bleed damage, as attack damage does not increase it.
Attack damage increases the value of bleed stacks that you inflict on enemy, so there is scaling with rage. I feel like rage might be still worth taking on many bleed builds if you invest in it properly - but pure dmg wise the impact of rage seems to be small...
@@danielnowakowski2068This is just wrong, attack damage does nothing for bleed.
Yeah, it does not doing anything for bleed, just the initial Lacerate hit.
Ugh, this is so confusing for me - I must rethink the results of my 3 previous lacerate glad leagues :D
A few times in the video he mentions getting attack speed up with rage. I thought rage was changed to not increase attack speed. Also PoB coming after it updates?
This is accurate, just a misspeak on my part, it's moreso for the 30% more dmg + armor from passive tree.
@@TalkativeTriFYI Rage grants 30% more attack damage, not 30% more damage with attack skills. So it will only affect your hit damage (might still be worth it, depending on setup, but probably not super significant unless you go for the Rigwald Axe(?) that gives dot multi per rage)
chillout vampire!
Grtz on melee.
Edit: We are SO BACK
Sir i didnt see the full video i must admit, why use ruthless when it does not support the skill? Is there a change coming where ruthless will support the skill? I am doing practice runs and its not supporting lacerate. Sorry if im wrong.
Np man, the skill gems/equipment in there is placeholder. I shall update - the POE Planner was MOSTLY for the passive skill tree pathing, I'll get in there and do some gear updates ASAP.
Also, yeah, Ruthless is NOT used once you get the other gems mentioned, just for w.e leveling skill you use until Lab 1.
It is updated now can u check it and give a POB if possible
Don't expect Jack, The Axe to be 2-3 cc now...More like 30-40 cc lol
TIME TO FARM SOME SHIPMENTS :D
Im sure youve already answered this before but why don't you like pob?
I like staying in game as much as possible and I find it intimidating AND boring. I'd rather do all my stuff in-game. If I was not making content, I would not use it, but because lots of ppl really enjoy it, I shall pain through it :)
I thought rage didn't give attack speed anymore?
It doesn't, I misspoke.
I’m going cleave of rage dual wielding glad
hell yeah
Summon wolf hexblade here i come 😩. Anybody know if there's a way to give minions aggravated bleed???
@@EdManMarkPerson based on the Q&A answers by GGG. Aggravate applies to all current stacks of bleed. So, if your minions apply bleeding, you can aggravate those. In addition to that, Vulnerability quality now gives % chance to aggravate, so the minions can also aggravate themselves.
My leaguestart in ssf for sure
Is there any reason you aren't using any warcries?
I'm gonna experiment with a few of them given the change and that they're just way better for Slams and the like now. Might go Enduring Cry to be SUPER safe in HC.
Rage gives nothing for bleed. No attack speed nor significant dps boost. Better to spend those points elsewhere
/agree. I think we're gonna see alot of people sliding into that just through force od habit.
probably right, gonna try it out and see how it does
I counted 14 mistakes and lies in your build... :/
your going blood and sand vs flesh and stone? why is this?
Bigger AOE for Lacerate in Sand Stance. Might change it up later!
does rage's attack damage scale bleeds?
Moreso the attack speed + other rage bonuses (like armor from the tree) I am going for!
@@TalkativeTrirage doesn't give attacks speed anymore (unless you are berserker or I missed any masterie).
Ope, you are correct, it's just armor on the tree right now and I do NOT think Bleed scales with basic Attack Dmg increases, just Phys. Mb!
I believe bleeds base damage is based on your phys damage, if so then it should though perhaps not the full 30%
where do i find the dps in that poeplanner?
I will post a POB once it is updated. Everything is whack rn while we're waiting for it to update.
imagine getting baited
nah, i'd flicker strike
Get bleed pops first, thank me later
I think I will use your build as one of my option to choose from, looks like something new and promising :) I dont think its a bait
Let's be real here. We will ALL have at least 3 characters this league. It's been a while since it was "figuring it out"-season. We're hungry for this sh*t. So going with any build right now, if it sounds fun - go for it. If it fails, go for another one. It's gonna be an amazing season.
i believe in GGG tri
TALA MOANA !
"i did so much research" chooses rage.
build with no items or dmg or ehp numbers? ehhh
I love your content! But this video has a lot of mistakes. A lot.
This is why I am VERY clear in the opening and multiple times throughout. This is the path I am going, trying this stuff out, if it works it works, if it doesn't RESPEC. Lots of other awesome creators out there who are 1000x better than I at this.
@@TalkativeTri You have a 1000 times better pitch than many authors. You are already better than many, it's just that after this video it becomes clear that this particular build is new to you. That's why everything looks rather crude.
@@ray_forsten 100%.
Dude this build is so badly cooked do you even pay attention or juat xlick number go up?
How are you going to use your skills you took no mana cost reduction, a single life as % mana cost maatery and reserved 100% of mana
DELETED...I jest.
You are right - these is not a guide, these are my thoughts and the path of what I'll be playing on league start. I am not a build maker as I say in the first 20 seconds of the video, there are LOTS of amazing, experienced ones out there. I'll cook as I go, this is just the outline.
As for the mana, it's something I'll play with as I go. Less auras, Elreon jewelry, maybe another mana wheel, who knows????
