I have only two cats left of my original small managed feral colony! They are both 12-13 years old (one boy & one girl) and the boy has a tiny tame streak, only because he was too young to neuter when he was caught and stayed inside with the very attentive feral cat lady (at the time) and she tried to socialize him. The little girl though... she knows this is home, she knows I’m the one with food and treats. She will sit on a windowsill in the morning to watch for me to bring food and when she sees me heading for the door with their food, jumps down and heads toward the covered porch where their food and water bowls are. She also waits for treats many times daily, because the boy has stomatitis that (when flared up) can only eat SOME kinds of treats and soft food, so she knows when I throw treats out for him, she’s getting a serving too! All that said and my point is that since she was released after TNR all those years ago, she has not been nearer than 6 feet from me! Never felt a human touch since release. Her “brother “ comes in the house occasionally for a brief catnip session, but only when he decides it’s probably been long enough since I put the medicine on the flap of his ear (for the mouth problem)...he needs a prednisone injection, but I have to get him to the vet for that, soooo.... He loves dry food, but runs off screaming when he tries to eat it and hits whatever spot that hurts. Doesn’t matter how often that girl sees him walk in my door, she’s not even thinking about following! It could be freezing out and she’d choose to turn into a cat-sickle before coming in the house! Not all ferals are able to be socialized; it’s infuriating that she STILL only trusts me from her chosen distance! I feed them the best food I can buy, just like the inside cats they get filtered water just like the inside cats and they have shelter when they choose to use it. I’m glad yours are being more compliant...it certainly is what’s best for them, even if they can’t see it at this point!💗
To anyone who does similar things to improve an animals life that has been left to fend for themselves…May God bless you and may HE CONTINUE blessing these helpless animals THROUGH YOU. YOU are the catalyst between good and evil for them. Without you, they would never know love or the significance of a relationship in general. it can be tedious, time consuming, emotionally overwhelming; albeit it is the most rewarding thing to see progress or even the initial eye contact. - -With love -
Look at Boo, he is really trying to grab your attention , rubbing on t, of co your scent, the stairs, the door, and working up to being petted by you. He is at the same time leaving his scent on what is your property before he eats, Soon if you let him, with closed shoes, let him rub onto you and a return pet from you. Yes he wants to be patted, but as you say about cats on their own time, But wow he is getting so close. By the way looking at the date of video, it's been a few months since seeing Boo and he looks so much healthier . Excellent job! and yes these are the Lucky Ferals! from an old cat lady in Boston
will he let her touch him?? the anticipation is killing me, cant believe Ive watched this slow paced progress for hours! But now Im so invested, I need to see it! feels like a drama show
Found you channel accidentally & binge watched all 3 vids about your kitties. You have amazing patience & truly read to assess & understand these cats: Their fears, behaviors & needs! What love & nurturing you provide these "once ferral felines!" I breed, raise, home & show pedigreed Maine Coon Cats in Fl. I am ACFA All Breeds & Household Pets Judge of 10yrs. I have my mission with my cats, as well. God bless you & your tireless mission with your fur babies!
Hydrox looks to be in good condition at this date. He sure has aged in a year. Thank goodness Mom takes such good care of this boy who doesn't want to be an indoor cat. Mom, you are Hydrox's guardian angel.
I get a can of cat food from the case a couple of times a day, When Gillian (my cat) slaps my hand with claws retracted, I keep preparing her food and feed her. If she extends her claws, everything stops for half an hour. Same thing with play. If I am wearing socks, She can play with slightly extended claws and teeth. With a roll of paper towels, she can go full-predator mode- and I am happy cleaning up the debris fragments.Training cats to refrain from fighting each other is MUCH more complex.
Cats prefer rain water to tap water. I have 2 kitties right now, one was a stray the other I got fron a rescue. My female is called Chichi, she sleeps woth me. The male is Snow, he sleeps with my son.

Love Boo My black cat looks like him except he has very green eyes and I just love him he's such a happy little guy I named him Pepper. I am so hoping mama will come around and hang with me instead of just letting me pet her. I named all mine Mama : Sammie is a tabby , Pepper black, Kali looks just like mama and is my bud he lets me hold and pet him, then the torte I named her Snickers she too is so sweet like Kali and Pepper, then the 2 that won''t come Otto is gray and Ginger is grey with touches of brown. I so wish now I would had video my progress with all mine. Mama would never play until all the kittens started playing. Great job you are doing !!! Thank you for saving them. BTW I did samething with patio chairs. I sat in them then all the cats would start sitting on them.
You thought you were training the cats but in reality , they were training you all along . 😹😹😹hello from hurricane hell , 10 days of no power and temperatures in the mid nineties. Not complaining just suffering 😹😹🦝❄️
Lucky Ferals yes mam, the house and cats are ok . I lost all of my oak trees with the spainish moss . I just have to keep moving forward . My cats is main concern for them .
So wonderful how you take care of the feral cats and the progress you are making. I love watching your videos. I was waiting for you to address the very large raccoon that attacked the cat in your homemade apartment under the house and woke you at 2:30 in the morning. The cat was fighting for it's life. I don't know if the cat got away or not or which cat it was. I hope you review the footage as the raccoon was very large and dangerous.
Thanks for watching. Please make sure you are subscribed to the channel to find out about new videos as they are posted. The raccoon incident happened many months ago and was mentioned and featured in several previous videos. All of the cats are fine.
They prefer to drink out of the big container of water because cats hate when their whiskers touch the sides of the container. Edited to change “container of food” to “water”.
Boo is just getting very territorial with other cat he has been very comfy and feeling at home. He's like why this other cat here where in the beginning he was ok with him because this place didn't belong to him yet.
I'm confused, because there's those people that would say this cat isn't truly feral. They say these cats wouldn't be happy indoors, and you'd be torturing them to do so
There’s alot of stupid people in the world who believe lies and myths instead of being able to think for themselves. Feral cats make the best house cats because they are so APPRECIATIVE of having a safe and loving home.
I really like watching your videos & enjoy getting to know Boo as well as the cats. I'm learning a lot about feral cats from watching your videos.

Love the old outside Boo videos - perfect for taking my mind off my poison ivy - I'll never learn - did not wear long sleeves while weeding!

Hydrox looks like a bad ass. You'll never be able to get the Tom out of that cat. Bless him.
Hydrox was a girl.

be patient with boo then he will eat

I'm new to your channel but I absolutely love it, you've made me see cats in a whole new way.
Maybe little slim Boo has an over active thyroid issue? Or just a lucky cat that can eat as much as he wants.

Hiiii omg i'm loving these, i watch Boo instead of tv now :) What is the tincture you used for Boo's eye?
It was Dr. Morse’s Heal All Glycerin Tincture. NHV Pet Products makes great tinctures for cats also.

Boo's gorgeous
I've had three lovely black kitties in my life.
Abt the ants.. do you put vaseline on the outside of there bowls? Its a game changer
Boo’s head looks better
Pet him!
Never pet a feral cat until they give you permission to do so otherwise you will get badly scratched.
The premiere is 4 hours 13 minutes long.
Good deal. Classic Ferals action.

I don’t think he has. At least not that I can remember.
