Hi Stephanie! I inherited an early 1920's platinum diamond & sapphire tennis bracelet, that was my grandmother's. It is too small for me and just not something I would wear.. thinking about getting appraised.. I'm just extremely nervous where to take it, especially since it is an antique. Any recommendations? I'm in Southern California... thanks so much!! 😊
This is a good question in general, instead of using gold or titanium can sterling silver be used instead. I am assuming that would cut the price down at least a few hundred dollars because of the metal. I am looking at another jewelers piece that is 7 inches in length, sterling silver with a bezel set and natural diamonds that weight a total of 2 ca.. The stones are color of I to J, clarity of I2-3 with a round shape for just under a grand. I know in gold or titanium it would be a lot more as well as using higher colored stones. Is this too low of a price for this type of piece?
I don't think you want to put expensive stones that are gonna last forever (diamonds) on a metal that tarnishes rather quickly, considering that the gold setting isn't what's really expensive in a tennis bracelet. If you want to save money, i'd put fake stones (lab grown) on a gold setting.
@@camilleduquet I could also put in smaller stones in with a lower color grade of stone because someone isn't going to notice any defects in the stone. I would go down into an I or a J color range but an H is a cost cutting method. I do have a pair of sapphire tennis bracelets that are set in sterling but sapphires are much cheaper than diamonds unless you want a rare color. Mine is a darker blue, which look good and are affordable. Most of the jewelry I own is in sterling more than anything else because I have cool undertones.
@@travisnapoleansmith Hi Travis! You can make one with 14kt white gold and 6 carats total weight Lab Grown VS quality F G color for $1750 and Natural Diamond VS quality G H color for $2700.
@Travis Smith sterling silver can be rhodium plated, same thing as white gold is plated with. would be the same care as white gold, you'd get it re-plated by a jeweler ever so often (about 3yrs) when the rhodium wears down. the other silver colored metal option If you wanted to stick with that tone is platinum which doesn't need to be plated but is much more expensive. In a tennis bracelet, the stones will probably be the biggest part of the cost. I'm a guy and wanted something more substantial (around 22 carats) and to get it in natural diamonds was prohibitively expensive, started at $35K and went up drastically depending on the quality of the stones and type of metal. white sapphire was an option but they just didn't have that sparkle that I wanted, they just didn't look right. I opted to go with sterling silver with a rhodium plating and moissanite stones.
At 1:01 Can anyone tell me how many millimeters the bracelet is directly in the middle? I’m trying to figure out the millimeter width that I want or how many stones I want. I’m having a very hard time trying to figure it all out. Can anyone tell me how many stones are in a 4 mm bracelet with round cut diamonds any four prong setting. Just like the ones shown at 1:01
If the bracelet size is 4mm then I the approximate diamond size would be 2.50mm. If you use 2.50mm size diamonds for a standard 7 inch bracelet then you would require 56 to 57 diamonds approximately. Total carat weight would be around 4mm.

No, sterling silver is not strong enough to hold diamonds. The settings will loosen and the diamonds will likely fall out
I AINT GOTTA GET NAKED FOR NO TENNIS BRACELET!!!!
Lmfaooo this lyric plays in my head everytime
but I need twenty bands for a fucking anklet!
I ain’t athletic, but it’s tennis for da necklace 🤪
Do you have blue fancy diamonds? Bracelet or necklace??
Do you know a good place to get real jewelry for cheap?
are those unisex or women ?
Unisex. I personally like a chunky (5-6mm) tennis bracelet on a man.
yes for both men and women men wear bigger ones and I for example have a 3 row black teennis chain
Men can wear them too. I am actually shopping for one. I am wondering if 3/16 inch is too thin for a man to wear?

A J no
I love brown diamonds. 💎
Most important is to NOT get a diamond one, but moissanite. Theyre way prettier, sturdier and cheaper!
