@@inthekitchenwithmatt I have an easy zucchini cake recipe; a box of yellow cake mix, 2 cups shredded zucchini, 1/2 cup oil, 4 eggs. And raisins & walnuts,. Or dried cranberries, blueberries, etc. I add cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. I sometimes shred carrots in it and made a super 2 layer carrot cake & frosted it with homemade cream cheese frosting. This is good by itself though without frosting; it's very moist and I usually add more zucchini. I call it my "healthy cheat cake" since it uses a box mix.
Hi! May i ask if you dont need to press the dough to flatten? Hope you can answer me..It looks yummy and really love to try it.. BTW, i subscribe right away!😊
Hi Emma, I would use the heart cookie cutter after they have baked and cooled. Otherwise they will just spread and mess up the heart shape if you like roll out dough and use the cookie cutter before baking. Unfortunately these don't behave like sugar cookies.
Yes, they can be frozen either before or after. If you do it before put the rolled pieces of dough in a zip lock bag and lay them flat so they are not piled on each other, then after a few hours the bag and be set upright, if that makes sense?
Hello! Sorry about that, it makes about 24 cookies depending on the size. :) So 5 boxes of the cake mix should be perfect, with some extra. Then of course 5 times the rest of the ingredients.
I would add a few more tablespoons of butter. Stick with the two eggs at first and see where it gets you with the consistency. :) Let me know how they turn out. :)
I 'liked' this video because you included the ingredients in the description. Thanks.

Hello, no you don't need to press the dough to flatten it. It will flatten as it bakes. :) Thank you!
Wow delicious 😋 👏👍💐

Hi Matt! I have Betty Crocker Red Velvet Mix 395g. Is it fine to stick with these measurements for the ingredients or I need to make it less? Thanks!
Yes it should be fine to use that as is with the same measurements I do in the video. :)
Yummy!!❤👍🏻
Thank you, Jenny! :)
Can I use super moist chocolate fudge cake mix?
Sure I don't see why not
Is it possible to sub lemon mix with red velvet? i made it with red velvet the first time and they were bombbbb
Sure! I imagine any cake mix will work fine. :)
Thanks you
You are welcome! :)
Hey matt, just wanted to know, how many crinkles you made in this measurement?
Hello, you should be able to get about 24 of them depending on the size you make them. :)
if i use cookie cutters to shape the cookies into hearts, will the cookies stay in that heart shape?
Hi Emma, I would use the heart cookie cutter after they have baked and cooled. Otherwise they will just spread and mess up the heart shape if you like roll out dough and use the cookie cutter before baking. Unfortunately these don't behave like sugar cookies.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt lol i have another question. what if the cane mix has pudding in it? will that work too
@@Emma-dc7bs It should, I haven't tried every single cake mix, haha. But most of them will work.
Is the butter salted or unsalted?
You can use either, I typically bake with unsalted butter, because it gives you the most control over the salt content in your finished product.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt okay than you
@@Danieldoomer You are welcome!
Hi Matt I would like to know does it taste like a cookie or a cake is it crunchy or soft. Thanks
Hello, Howard! It tastes more like a cookie than a cake. It can be soft or crunchy depending on how long you bake it. :)
what exactly would the cornstarch do? what’s the difference between mixing it in and not?
It helps the powdered sugar from caking, but in this instance, it probably doesn't matter that much. :)
Can they be frozen at which point when raw or cooked
Yes, they can be frozen either before or after. If you do it before put the rolled pieces of dough in a zip lock bag and lay them flat so they are not piled on each other, then after a few hours the bag and be set upright, if that makes sense?

Making them today! Since the cake mix is 500g, should i add 3 eggs and add more butter to the recipe?
I would add a few more tablespoons of butter. Stick with the two eggs at first and see where it gets you with the consistency. :) Let me know how they turn out. :)
Finished making it and they turned out amazing! Thanks for the recipe :)
