To be fair, he was giving a tutorial. These always takes longer. If your going to McDonalds, you probably already know what you want. My guess is anywhere between 30-40 seconds.
In every interface I've ever encountered when you are done building an order you select "Submit' or 'Pay Now' etc. For some reason McDonald's has decided that 'Add To Order' is the best way to find a way to submit your order. That's like day one of UI school. Geez.
The kiosks suck. They are not linear. Hard to find certain items. Some items arn't on it, and some items on the kiosk they don't have. Can't find sale or promotional items. Have asked for help several times, but the McDonalds people are confused too. But also it takes longer to get your food versus the old method. In most cases they'd get your food after the order was taken and you leave with a full tray. Now they whole process has slowed down. Generally avoid McDonalds when I can, they always give priority to the drive thru and you don't have to use the touch screen - yet - so that's ok. Also sucks that the menus keep changing while you are watching them.
I know this is new and cool. But I think order at front cashier like someone taking order is faster....but what about the cashier person jobs that take orders
I took the family to McD, and the self service kiosk. We gave up in frustration and went to the teller and ordered there in no time. btw, the burger I had was disgusting and I threw half of it. Had forgotten how bad McD burgers are compared to somewhere like Grilled.
Went to a Mickey d"s in goleta it was 8:07 on a Friday night, no one at the counter for 7 min..... was then instructed to use the "self checkout" the person behind the counter wouldn't take my order for some reason..... shocked I left, The 7/11 down the street serves more drinks, salad, fruit, frozen desert, hot food, pizza, at a better price, and I can get cigs. And lottery tickets there......and amazon delivers to me there. With redbox . ALWAYS SOMEONE BEHIND THE COUNTER!
It just shows how lazy people are when you can't even stand in line. Why does McDonald's even have employees just go back and make your own. All this new equipment now I know why it's $8 for a big Mac
There should be some kind of class for people to take, on how to use a f-ing kiosk.. it's not that f-ing hard, but seems to confuse the hell out of too many people. Here's my point: if it is confusing to you, just order at the freaking counter man
