Man I remember listening to Michael 5000 Watts every Friday(or Saturday?) night in Shreveport on, 99.7 KMJJ back in the day. He did a show for KMJJ back then. Pretty sure that KMJJ was DJ Bay Bay's(from "Ay, Bay Bay" by Hurricane Chris) station, too. The mid to late 90s and 00's were wild 'round here. I can only imagine what it was like in H Town. 🙏🔥👌
I remember in 2004 when Chamillionaire dropped the first of the Mixtape Messiah series. Man that was goin hard! I bumped that for the longest! Tbh, I felt like I had my ear to the streets when it came to music around that time. I was up on everything back then, including local stuff like KP and E-Dub all sorts of folk from tha Port City or next door from Boss City! 🙏❤️

Everyone in Houston probably met Paul Wall. He really is the people’s champ. First time I met him was my first time trying Smoothie King and he walked in with a big ass kool aid smile after i got my drink and he walked up to me and shook my hand like if he knew me. I said what it do baby and he started laughing and said awready but he was with his kid so I wasn’t really tryna be all up in the mix so I said nice to meet y’all and went about my day. I’m sure he’s done that to plenty of people and goes to show he a real stand up dude.
