I come back to this version at least once a week. The new version is good but this one just has so much raw emotion in it that I like it more. Wish they’d add this version to Spotify as well.
What people don’t understand is, Alan, melodically and rhythmically, made ERRA. The easy-listening rhythms that made the band so popular was all Alan, Jesse wrote the heavy hitting breakdowns and catchy solos, and could sing. Remember lead guitarists, YOU AIN’T SHIT WITHOUT YOUR RHYTHM. Their newer music shows it. Alan will forever carry the torch in the sound that made me love them so much.

1:00 is when this gets me. Theres so much emotion behind the guitars. The solo at the end is so good too. Knowing this song is about alans departure from erra makes this shit so much more meaningful. 10/10 best song on the ep. Lets hope they remaster it.

Sound more like ERRA, than ERRA's new stuff
ERRA isn't even apart of this direction I feel like anymore. ERRA sounds like Circa Survive now. This sounds like something I could jam with after ERRA's first debut album. If you're a fan of ERRA, check out By Blood And Iron

I personally love the vocals. They fit the sound and add needed rawness and emotion to this song. Studio perfect Garrison vocals wouldnt have the same effect on this release.
alan wrote Heart alone and im sure he was mostly responsible for isolation blue. my 2 absolute favorite songs of all time. I want to hear his old stuff before this version of artificials

+Michael Clark Alan Rigdon is ERRA's former guitarist and along with his wife is The Artificials.
The guitarist Alan used to be in Erra but left after Erra's Augment album.

+Michael Clark So Alan was the old guitarist for ERRA, and mainly (bias here) responsible for the complexity and heavy nature of the band. He and Garrison did not appreciate the mainstream direction that the band was headed in. Garrison got engaged and got a full time job, so had to leave, before things go really nasty. Alan tried to stay, but ended up getting in a fight with Jesse, so he made this band with his wife (that heavenly voice in the background). This song is directed at Jesse.
