Ghanaians pay lesser tuition as compared to international students because the government pays some of the tuition. As a Ghanaian student in a tertiary institution, the government takes some of your tuition and pays for you that’s why it’s mandatory to do your national service after university. In this national service period that’s where you work to pay the money the government spent on you when you were in school

It is the same in Nigeria too. If a Ghanaian living in Nigeria encounter any problem with a Nigerian and they both appear before the police, the Ghanaian will be locked up in police cell for weeks or months before they listen to his case and this is after he has paid money to the police. There are so many eye witness account on this issue.

  • @jenasadusei7682

Food For Thought. If u want to know the strength of a currency, convert it to Global standard(Dollars) and compare. 1 dollar is 10 cedis and 1 dollar is also 432 Naira🤣.
A Ghanaian with 1000 cedis will hv 100 Dollars to walk about in US. A Nigerian with 1000 Naira will hv 2.5 Dollars. 2.5 dollars is way smaller compared to 100 dollars. That compares the strength of Cedis to Naira on foreign soil. So Naira has value 'only' in Nigeria. It can't survive in most countries

First thing, the school fees is lower for Ghanaians because it's paid by the govt. Hence why we do national service to pay of our debt to govt. Secondly, Ghanaian girls may go for Nigerian guys in schools simply because of money. The average Nigerian in a Ghanaian university comes from a home that can afford to pay thousands of dollars when many of those average Ghanaians struggle for the cedis they pay for school. That's the main reason. Its called hypergamy. In local parlance, it's called poverty avertion. Thirdly, the cedi is not stronger than the naira. Its been redenominated hence why it appears smaller. The evidence is in the purchasing power. If not for redomination, 25cedis would be 250000cedis.
