- In addition to just being beautiful one-of-a-kind panoramas in the sky, clouds can tell us so much about how energy and weather patterns flow around the globe. Today, we'll talk about how clouds form, the three main types (cirrus, status, and cumulus), explain how and why we get rain, and end with a discussion on humidity and how high humidity can feel hot and sticky on a warm day but comfortable on a cold day. So join us and countless people throughout history and look up -- at the clouds!

Oh no! Y'all are absolutely right. In an effort to get another banana-reference in at 4:52 we did our conversions wrong. Food energy calories are kilocalories not regular "calories." So 5 bananas would be about 500kcal and would evaporate 1kg of water. -brandon
There isn't any course on personality development or you may counseling courses for relationships etc !!! I would strongly appreciate if you considered this suggestion !! 🙏
Regards ::-
Best Wishes 🤠
The mere title taught me something. I didn’t know clouds were geography.
*With regards to the calories* : I think you confused *regular calories* with *kilocalories* (which is what are used to measure food energy, confusingly mostly referred to as just "calories") . 5 bananas would be about 500kcal and would evaporate *1kg* of water.
(Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I only mention it because I've made this mistake in the past)
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
What is a cloud but moisture preserving?
I normally don’t care for geography but for some reason this is so fascinating!
So true
Damn ethereal is a nice word audibly
Always look forward to these Geography videos
Clouds r cool and you can’t change my mind
One desert survival method collects desert water vapor. You dig a hole in the sand, and line it with a piece of plastic. Cover that with a stretched piece of plastic on top, with a small rock in the center, to form a small cone. At night, when the temperature drops, the water vapor will condense on the top plastic. And drip into the bottom plastic. In the morning, you will have some water. An interesting practical use for the principles you are discussing.
Everyone asks what is a cloud. Nobody asks HOW is the cloud 😢
At 4:50 the "calories" representing the latent heat of vaporization is off by a factor of 1000, a food (C)alorie is 1000 (c)alories, the amount of energy required to heat one gram of water 1 degree Celsius
I thought red sky at night shepherds delight
I started watch this Course because i love Geography. But now i hesitate. Geography is much more than i think and i really just like looks at map and see many different countries, city, continents, and beatiful diversity.
"What is a cloud? A miserable pile of droplets. Have at you!"
Cloud from final fantasy
Cloud is a Soldier First Class
Describing clouds as dusty water was the least expected but most cherished take-away term from this week's video. I'm going to start calling clouds that for now on as often as I can.
Lumpy space princess cameo.
I love this channel I literally can find anything school/science/history related and I also watch this channel for pleasure, keep up the good work!
Thanks for explaining 🌸
Great information, great visual aids, great instruction! Big thanks to the host and team for the hard work 🤙
I'm using this to study for my private pilot checkride. This is so helpful to understand the big picture! Great stuff!!!
It is hot.

This show is great and informative and also i always love alize's shirts and wonder if there's a connection to the video or she just has style of a quirky elementary school science teacher
another wonderful video on this channel
Crash Course content is as good as it was earlier.
CLOUDS ARE MY FAVORITE
Sometimes I seriously wonder how much the grades around the world went up thanks to this channel
The 585 calories required to vaporize one gram of water is NOT the same as five bananas. Dieticians use a bigger calorie, which is equal to a kilocalorie, or 1000 calories. To prevent confusion, the dietician's calorie is sometimes capitalized as Calorie.
BEST CHANNEL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL
A lot of water is released into the air through transpiration as well, which is one reason why some people claim that if you plant the trees, they'll bring the rain.
wow
And this is why I’m a math major LOL. Science is so confusing to me ;-; but this was interesting to learn about!
Excellent video
I was just trying to do my school, an then Lumpy Space Princess appears

Time for sum worldbuilding :D
On Borneo, the humidity is very high mostly due to our rainforest, and rain is frequent. Although haze is also typical because of certain international bs
The checkerboard clouds that form over big cities early morning... what type of clouds are those??
so I watched this after watching an episode on tardigrates.... If you have dust and water in the sky, can you have flying water bears???
I've read somewhere that tartigrates were found in clouds even on very high altitudes. Unfortunately I can't remember the source.
Yes, there is plenty of life floating in the sky. Fungi spores, bacteria and viruses may also serve as droplets' nuclei among others. Just don't freak out! 😉
So uh, John, when are we getting that An Abundance of Katherines movie?
Circus clouds - high clouds
Cumulus- Fluffy thicc clouds
Nimbus - Angerey Clouds
Stratus - blanket of
CumuloStatuNimbus Clouds - Giga gigantic rain cloud
When do we go to human geography?
Why are clouds like packets with discernable edges, and not more diffuse and like fog all of the time?
my favorite ones are stratus
Hi I’m early.
Humidity doesn’t make black hair lengthen it does the literal exact opposite...our hair shrinks like a mofo which is why so many black women hate when it rains 🌧or gets humid 🌫
