    I'm cleaning my drill... I come here because I have a piece fall out. The same piece that fell out at 6 minutes on the your video. Brilliant!

    Hey man good stuff!!!
    80% the videos out there doesn’t even go over this, you’re the only one I found.
    Everyone one else just likes to hear themselves talk and stuff.
    I know you’re not a pro but good job.

    Great video. I was able to fix mine by spraying some electronic contact spray directly in to the trigger area without taking it apart. I sprayed liberally and pumped the trigger and it worked! Thanks. I would never have e thought of if.

    Nice video. Opened up my M12- it was clean, no gunk. used an air duster to blow out any small particles. Bottom line: the light stayed on. I don't need the light. I exposed the diode by prying up the wires; clipped them, removed the diode and then, using a toothpick, dabbed some liquid electric tape on the exposed wires.
    Problem solved.

    Great video. I had the same issue, I opened it up, cleaned it slightly and got it working normally again. The light only stays on for a few seconds after using it.

    Quick version: Clean any build up on the PCB specifically, and be careful of the direction button bracing metal. I had this issue as well recently.

    Using a aerosol can of brake clean or electrical contact cleaner would be more efficient to remove debris than a toothbrush with alcohol once you have it opened.

    Thanks! Your video saved my DeWalt. Had the same problem with the LEDlight but it works fine now after careful cleaning with isopropanol and a toothbrush. Greetings from Sweden! :)

    I had to send my first one bac k, it worked randomly. The second one worked then after a few months it too began working randomly. The forward drill operation would falter, stop working and all four led battery lights would light up on and off. The only wat to get it to work was to flick it into reverse, pull the trigger ( and it would work ) then flick it into forward and it would work. Very disappointing

    I thought I put that brass piece in right next thing you know I snapped the brittle piece of plastic that tells the trigger what direction the Chuck should be going....if you don't remember the position it was in and pull a noob move like me you'll break it and end up buying a new drill on Amazon for 35 dollars

      Katy Klein Bottle what does the “brass piece” look like? It sounds like it may be the spring plate which goes down in a little slot in front of the forward/reverse shuttle.

      Does anyone have a problem with the light going on an off every minute or twice a min

    • @johng2880
      @johng2880 4 года назад +2

      in case anybody else has this issue. The little brass clip is the spring tensioner for the forward/reverse switch. There's a little slot that one end goes into and the hump faces the black F/R switch. It puts pressure on the switch from the front of the housing to keep it in forward or reverse.
