I remember back in the mid to late '60's, (I was around 10 + at the time), riding behind CN 6167, 6218, GTW 5629, and Reading 2102 wondering how cool it would be to be able to operate mainline steam on a privately owned "short line" anywhere in the Country where you wouldn't have the restrictions OF said mainlines. I do believe this is one of the reasons God has kept me alive this long, to be able to witness my own wish and/or prediction. This IS a First Class operation, even down to the "knife-edged" roadbed.
Absolutely fantastic. Between the two steam trains and the monster single steam train I loved every minute of the entire video. It's nice their keeping these big boys rolling and I'm sure everyone does too
The closeup view at the beginning of the video really shows the quality of the restoration work. I could not detect any fillers or sheet metal patches on the engine or on the tender. 2102 appears to have been outshopped as brand new! That glossy black paint really makes it pop. This is getting me thinking of taking a trip south to see this engine and railroad in action.

Great video. Advice -zoom in on the people making the joint and show that essential part of RR operations. A person's eyes and brain have an auto-zoom feature that a camera can't replicate except by changing focal-length. I'd love to see 2102 with it's operating patina of soot and grease. Good work. I hope you get paid for it.
I would love to see steam engines start being made again especially since no matter how you look at it they are pretty good for the environment since they run pretty much purely on water snd steam and no matter the engine they all look beautiful i really wonder what they world would of looked like if no one made diesel engines en other stuff like them look all so mighty and powerful hoping no one call there bluff since to this day a steam engine from 70-100 years ago can pretty easily pull what diesel pulls today and with todays tech steam engines could probably do 10x more then anything diesel could if we made steam engines they would probably also be like 80x more durable then diesel (even though they already are)
Unfortunately, they don't run on water, they burn a lot of coal or oil. And they're very inefficient because the hot steam only gets used once. But they look pretty cool.

Lo curioso qué observo en el video, que a ratos sé vé la 2106 llevando la locomotora 425, muy hermosa también de color azul. Y después vuelve a quedar sola con su tren. Bacano y chevere de todas formas ver estos poderosos aparatos.

These wonderful old steam trains were slow and inefficient by modern standards, but they had character, unlike the bland, faceless trains of today, that look like milk cartons.
