We stay home because our family lives a bit far. We drive around the night before Christmas Eve and look at all the lights in various neighborhoods. We watch Christmas with the Kranks afterwards and then A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. Two years ago when A Christmas Story Christmas came out (with the original cast minus the parents), we added that as a movie to watch after A Christmas Story. I also make a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas Day, except this year it will be a birthday pecan pie. My boys are 19 and 16 so we don’t do a lot anymore but it’s still a great time together. I do miss the awe and wonder of their faces when they were little. Time goes so fast so enjoy every minute with your girls! I loved your eyeshadow look! Hi Amy! It sounds like your family has some wonderful traditions this time of year! Some friends told us about a private residence nearby which has won awards for Christmas light displays. Apparently the guy removed his garage door and replaced it with full glass... it becomes a stable for reindeer and other animals. He has an interactive light display and invites cars to park and walk around his yard. And I even heard that he clears out his living room and sets up a whole village inside so people can look through the windows! I would like to visit that with my girls. I loved the Christmas look you created. I planned on doing a Christmas look but ended up getting eyelash extensions. Which worked out! Because I did not have the time I thought I would to get ready for the various dinners/parties we had the last few days. It's my first Christmas as a mom of 2 and I was behind on everything this year! But I just kept reminding myself that Jesus is the reason for the season so if certain things don't get done it's ok because it's not truly about that stuff anyway. Our traditions include going to my in laws for dinner on Christmas eve. After we go to my best friends Christmas party which goes till midnight which is when they open their presents. We didn't stay till then though. And Christmas day we read parts of Luke 1 and Luke 2 and just talked with the kiddos about why Jesus birth was important and what the true meaning of Christmas was. Then they do presents and we go to my parents for dinner. I did a lot of cooking this year! I want to make new traditions just within our little family but I don't know quite where to start lol. Anyway sorry for the novel! But I hope you had a marvelous Christmas and thank you for the wonderful content you put out. 😊 ❤
